if sugiyama hadn't made it to the finals, the japanese media wouldn't have acknowledged that the williams sisters were in australia. jingoism, pure and simple.

Oh, and I forgot, Obama just gave 5.2Billion to ACORN.... very shameful.

not nearly as shameful as what you spent on AKON.

simple solution: whatever wall street executives decide to pay themselves in salary and bonuses, simply minus that amount from the bailout package. enough said and end of story. i thought you ameriKKKans were supposed to be good at simple arithmetic.

as long as the punishment suits the crime, i have no objection to any disciplinary action in this case.

it is too bad that there's no other way for ms wakatsuki to encourage japanese people (read: men) to give to charity. seems they will gladly pony-up some cash to see a topless, young girl but not even think twice about NOT donating money to build a school in a developing country. the world we live in has truly bottomed-out.

there have been biracial children in japan since the end of world war 2 yet, i have yet to see any biracial people working in banks/office buildings. are these people somehow less japanese? the only biracial people i ever see on television are Becky, Wents and Anna Tsuchiya.

why is it that americans who live in japan have no interest in economic recovery? instead, they content themselves in throwing stones from their glass houses.

in terms of inauguration speeches, i think mr. obama's ranks behind:

    1. JFK's
    2. FDR's
    3. MLK's (ha ha ha ... ok, so it wasn't an inaguration speech but, it was very inspiring).

his memorization, delivery and evocation were excellent. perhaps, the best among 20th century presidents of the U.S.A. the worst 3, you ask?

    1. GWB's
    2. RWR's
    3. GWHB's

ha ha ha ... what do these 3 men have in common? republican moderators, please feel free to exercise your partisanship in erasing my comments. you know you will.

other leaders can learn that an energized electorate is always interested in regime change when incumbents appear impotent/incompetent.

maybe the problem is japanese companies hire people before they graduatee from school. wait for them to graduate. look at your companies economic outlook and then decide whether there is a need to make job offers, staffing decisions, etc. is this sort of thing happening in any other G8 countries?

i saw the school's principal on NHK's 21:00 English broadcast and wondered if he would've done more to prevent these sorts of things, if he also had to commit ritual suicide when a student killed themself. typically, he only shrugged and said: "i had no idea this sort of thing was happening in my school". maybe that's the answer. if one of your charges kills themself, the homeroom teacher and the principal must perform a public seppuku.

suicide is never the answer to one's problems. something has to be done to prevent the vicious/arrogant from preying on the docile/humble. once all of the good children have killed themselves, we'll be left with only the scum.

lost in the article is the individuals right to chose. apparently, HR departments have begun to greedily lick their chops and feverishly rub their hands together but, the reality is ... people still have hopes and dreams. and they will not be enslaved so easily.

female golfers, like all other female Japanese athletes, are treated like aidoru. a few years ago, it was Sakura Yokomine & Ai Miyazato. the next time it was Momoko Ueda. now it's Miho Koga & the shokin-jo. the exceptions to this rule are, of course, those women the media deem to be not cute enough or busaiku.

the other otions are no better than Aso so, why bother? none of them has any idea for how to solve japans numerous educational, societal problems. they are even more clueless regarding the economy. the evil one knows is, in this case, better than the one you don't.

unless the united states intervenes, israel will successfully kill every elderly person/woman/child in the gaza strip within the next 5 years. the palestinians cannot reproduce at a rate which exceeds mossad's ability to murder them. especially with their (mossad's) sophisticated, american weaponry.
