if you go to youtube and do a search for "okinawa" and "coming of age day", or the kanji equivalents ... you'll see what it's all about. first: go round with your mates, get your hair styled into a blonde/orange punch-perms/regents. second: get dressed with your mob in matchin' kimonos. next: swill japanese sake like it's goin' outta style. then: parade through the streets and demonstrate your true worth by makin' a supreme rear outta yourself. finally: top it all of with a drunken brawl with the more than scared of you local cops and spend the night in county lock-up before your mother comes to pick you up the followin' mornin'.

i wonder who the 17 other people in the house were. hmm ... if you look @ this site and the accompanying statistics
captaincapitalism.blogspot.com/2008/07/israeli-vs-palestinian-deaths.html
it compares the number of israeli to palestinian deaths. as a result, you'll see that they (the other 17 people) were probably civilians, not associated with any terrorist/subversive groups. it seems that the israeli government/military/mossad, more than hamas, makes a practice of killing innocents/civilians. mr. obama's silence on this issue is most disheartening. it's time for the u.s. to disassociate itself from israel. otherwise, they will never negotiate in earnest with their neighbors.

in my (insert native, English-speaking country here) country, most (un)civil servants are much more interested in their own personal freedoms and self-preservation than they are serving the "public good". moreover, most workers in the private sector, instead of bending over backward to please customers, bend over forward to pat themselves on the back, pick up their paycheck and scamper off to the smoking area and/or duck out early on friday afternooons ... ha ha ha. don't be so quick to slag on the japanese. it may take them longer to do their jobs but, at least they're doing them. look at how the brits and yanks "fell asleep @ the wheel" and allowed the global economy to do a "jack kevorkian".

ebi-hara's handlers don't let her do variety programs while, yu yamada and moe oshikiri do a bit more TV. but to blame ebihara for CanCam's saggin' sales is beyond ignorance. the fact of the matter is magazines like "NUTS" and "JELLY" are takin' huge chunks out of teen and 'around 20' fan base. women in their 30s and 40s are more interested in "around 40" magazines/models. they identify more with Harumi Edo or Miyuki Amami.

considering the ridiculous amounts of money japanese professional baseball teams demand of major league teams to simply have the right to negotiate with japanese players; i'm glad to see he was able to eliminate those greedy middlemen.

he exposed his genitals to joshikousei for 4 years and had been getting away with it but, got caught because he was loitering in the area ... ha ha ha. was he getting his parking validated or something? ha ha ha ... like the bank robber who locks the keys inside the getaway car ... ha ha ha. he'll probably just get a slap on the wrist after having spent 3 weeks in detention. what D.A. would want to prosecute this case anyway? ha ha ha ....

"Thailand, Malaysia, etc, are much better destinations, due to the local attitude."
oh? with the touts, pick-pockets, knife-wielding robbers and low-hanging clouds of bike pollution lurking everywhere? i'll take japan over any of those countries; any day. besides, it's a wholesaler's/retailer's market for eff's sake! why should tourists be allowed inside? would the same people like to visit a slaughterhouse and watch freshly killed animals being auctioned off?

i want my children to grow-up happy, well-rounded. so, i will do my best to keep them away from mr. miyaki's and the works of other japanese animators. that NARUTO TV program has more than enough violence to twist a child's mind. ONEPIECE is even worse. lot's of people bleeding with no deaths. how're japanese children supposed to learn that violence eventuates in death, if they never see anyone die?
