why are the japanese so obsessed with wedding dresses anyway? it's not a costume. it's not even a uniform. are the fetishists and the media freaks who pump them up always so quick to degrade the sanctity of marriage with some j-fluff (unmarried) bimbo in a wedding dress?

the DPRK is not Iraq. they have the means & the firepower to make everyone suffer. kid gloves are required to deal with this deranged government. they may not yet have the bomb but, they could easily roll on S. Korea & Japan and kill enough people in a short enough period of time to make everyone regret the decision to attack. unlike Iraq, the DPRK has naval & air capability. imagine if they take Japan. Hawaii would next. from Hawaii, springboard to the west coast. diplomacy is the only way.

the U.S. needs china's cooperation against the DPRK. matters of national security & regional stability supercede those of chinese human rights. pelosi will do as she is ordered by her commander-in-chief, mr. obama. stray too far, and innocent by-standers will get the first rounds of fire. to those who live in japan, you'll appreciate pelosi's efforts when the DPRK is carpet-bombing from hokkaidou to okinawa and you're living in a concentration camp.

despite his goofy first & family names, this kid is hot. he could develop serious Asian marketing potential along the lines of Burapi or Buri-chan. too bad his name does not easily lend itself to a kawaii katakana, media-produced nickname. nonetheless, i see him getting a lot of commercial endorsements in japan. good think he's milquetoast.

japanese women don't have a unique beauty. there are many types of beautiful japanese women, so stop trying to stereotype them.

bamboohat: you should re-read & read again your own advice. then follow it, to the letter. for too long, you have been ignoring the advice of your betters. your comments are inexplicably lacking in sense, rhyme or even reason. maybe mr. obama can sit you down one day, and teach you some valuable life lessons that your parents never thought to. or maybe mr. bush could teach you some similar lessons. whoever, whenever. just so long as you learn a lesson.

words cannot express the mixture/confusion of emotions i am feeling @ having read (only) the headline of this story. maybe it's time to create an "akachan posto" @ every train station/convenience store/love hotel in japan. the mortality rate of newborns in japan is approaching african/medeival proportions.

the chinese (and the russians) expressed no similar reservations when they sent delegates to the DPRK to celebrate the birthday of Kim Jong Il. a living war criminal. chinese hypocrisy/stupidity knows no limits. why do they still have a seat on the UN security council?

south africa will host africa's first world cup. it's a safe bet that rio de janeiro will host south america's first olympics in 2016. bad timing for tokyo because, another asian country (china) recently hosted a summer olympic games. too bad, so sad but, the times ... as dylan said ... they are a changin'.

Experienced teachers know better. Japan just keeps hiring them right off the boat...no training or experience necessary

actually, i think it's more to the point to say that the kindergartens are at fault. always hunting for "bargain basement" prices. contracting the lowest bidders. while they hire the cheapest teachers, they're still charging the childrens' parents "arms & legs". it's all about profit. the boards of education who contract ALTs are no better. the government lavishes ridiculous salaries on (undeserving) politician & bureaucrats, then cuts, slashes and burns education funding while increasing the requirements for foreign language education in public elementary, juniour & seniour high schools. don't even get me started on cuts to funding for school lunches. fuming with righteous rage

yanai has no good ideas as to how to improve the japanese economy. moreover he has no interest in improving the japanese economy. he earns locally and spends globally. his benz and fleet of audis were made in germany. all his frank mueller watches were made in switzerland. his hypocrisy shames only himself. prattle on old man, prattle on.

many predicted the end of radio with the advent of television but yet, radio still continues to exist. even internet radio now exists. television may evolve, as will print media, but there is still enough room at the table for all forms of media. especially when one considers that the majority of the worlds population still lives in the 4th world where radio/print media continue to dominate. 75% of the world's population has never even heard of the internet ... ha ha ha. some people have never even heard of television. this discussion is really only for the privilged few. like arguing about which mercedes will make which BMW obsolete.

maybe if he hadn't inflated the value of his companies stock with bogus PR, then split the shares illegally ... the authorities would've left him alone. pure & simple, he's a criminal. the fact that he can profit from it by writing a book & living freely on the outside makes Charles Manson angry.
