Some people here are painfully harsh on their comments. Have you heard all of japanese music yet beside those that you said are mere copycats? On my experience, i doubt that i ever heard a copy cat music from them. Actually, the reason why i fell in love with japanese music is they really do sound unique. And what i love the most is not only their melodies are beautiful, but, would you believe that by just listening to it without even knowing what they are talking about, i still feel the emotion behind the song. Isn't that amazing?
Japanese songs talks to the listener. The combination of music and vocals are amazing. The way they pronounce the word is very emotional. Every syllable sounds as if it has something very tangible to say. It tugs at your heart.
You know what i will feel if i heard an english song without knowing the language? Definitely not the same way i feel about japanese music.
