he was on duty??? just what story was he working on - getting reactions of women to flashing??? just plain disgusting. it also seems to me that "a TV Asahi car was waiting nearby.." means that there was/were accomplice(s)???

as can be seen by the breakdown of families, school classrooms and just the general physical/mental health of the Japanese - what is needed here is face-time with family and friends. i do not count going drinking, playing golf, dipping in a hot spring with workmates as any kind of relaxation. hey you guys and gals who think you need to be on the job 24-7 - your families NEED you and there would be a whole lot less stress if you just read a book to, played catchball with or even a video game with your family.

not much is done by parents in this country to supervise their children. the children are often left in cars while their parents shop or play pachinko, the kids run around parking lots, they run wild in stores, they put their dirty little fingers on the bread in the bread stores and all the while their parents, esp. mothers, are oblivious. every once in awhile there is a whiny, high-pitched effort to tell "taro-kun" to stop but it only serves to irritate others as their child pays no attention whatsoever.

to ah so - my point exactly. there is so much that is not in our control so that when we CAN do something to control the situation - for example, training the child to hold on to mama or papas hand near train tracks, in parking lots, etc. too many parents today are too busy on their cell phones or whatever. i see it all the time. yes, i did hold on to my 5 year olds hand and taught him to use seat belts, a helmet when he`s riding his bike to look both ways.

well, what did they think would happen when they named a dish SMAP? it is only common sense (the lack of in it this country astounds me) that it would bring to mind SMAP and not Osaka.

i agree with the posters who have said that policemen who work in areas that have many people from other countries should have at least some knowlege of a foreign language. english is one language that many people from many countries have studied - here in japan as well. i also know for a fact that most police academies have english classes. the police handled the situation VERY badly. what are the women supposed to think when two guys just flash "badges" and try to take you somewhere. ive always learned that when people like that approach you go somewhere that is well-lit and with a lot of people around. it didnt seem as though they said they were trying to flee. they were practicing being safe.

people who join cults have no direction, no personality, really not much in their lives. they think by joining a cult their lives will have meaning. yeah, just look at how much meaning costs for most of these cults - monetarily, mentaly, spiritualy, moraly - i could go on. it is a heavy price to pay for "belonging." For me, I wouldn`t want to pay the heavy price. Just look at AUM, the branch Davidians, and now the polygamists in Texas and Colorado. people have lost their moral compass and are looking outside themselves for salvation. just look into yourself and practice the golden rule and you will be alright.

better late than never, and while they are at it, they should also ban the horrible pornographic comics (manga) that depict young girls being raped and tortured. many of these are readily available at the local convenience store. let`s get real about just what is pornography child or otherwise.

why is this not in the CRIME section. it certainly should be. here we go again only this year it is happening earlier. the temp only reached 23.3 celcius. i think they have shown us over and over and over again every year on TV that the temp in the car is much much much higher. when will these stupid people learn?!??!?!? it saddens and sickens me.

what do you mean the machine can`t detect different notes. they are all different sizes. just look. the 5,000 note is a little bigger than the 1,000 note and the 10,000 note is a little bigger than the 5. also, when i put in 10,000 or 5,000 i always get the correct change. sounds fishy to me.
