TJrandom - agree with you there. but still, there must be some family life for these people - if you ask me, and nobody did, that is what is wrong with society - all societies. if people put their families and their real-life socializing into the mix, they WOULD be more productive is what i meant.

TJramdom - sure glad i don
t work for you. another poster said it well. work to live not live to work. i also dont think it is asking too much to be able to go home and frequently have dinner (or some other meal) with the family - VERY IMPORTANT when kids are involved...and not have to stay just because the boss stays or have to go out drinking nightly with the very same people you have worked along side of for about 13-14 hours a day or give up weekend after weekend to play golf. that is not "what more can i do?" but how much MORE should i sacrifice? that is the balance. nothing there about 50/50.Posted in: Work-life balance more important than ever

why are companies still "reluctant to adopt the work-life balance?" you would think with a lot of serious problems (murder/mayhem/suicide)related to work stress, companies would be happy to have their employees mentally stable.

oh my, japanese behaving badly in other countries!!! NO, say it ain
t so. they dont show what going on the field, on the court, on the course unless a japanese is there. there are people, japanese and others alike, that would like to see the whole shebang - not the media`s interpretation of only the japanese players.Posted in: Some teed off by Japanese media swarming over Ishikawa

if it weren`t for the accidents and cover-ups here on japanese soil by the japanese i could understand. but geewhiz. i guess when it comes down to it they would rather have a japanese homegrown nuclear disaster. i would put my money on the US carriers before any of the plants on the ground here.

hey tokyochris - i think most of us that japan bash do the same for the awful, disgusting, idiotic etc. stuff that goes on in our birth countries. this so called "bashing" brings to light some of the sickening things that go on in this and other countries. i think that the outrage is mostly about the fact that the rape game cleared cleverly named "ethics watchdog groups."

i really don`t think there are any female "firefighers" in japan, either. they are OLs. i am sure there are some women out there who want to and CAN pass the test. i am pretty sure they are not allowed, yet.
