Get your kids a Zinc Stick and lather it on their faces and they'll be right as rain. Not sure what the teachers will say though.

Okayama. You did notice I said the beginning of June didn't you? There is a huge difference in temperature between the beginning and the end of the month, especially in the mornings, when the kids go in the pool. Why don't you try going for a dip in an unheated outdoor pool at 9:30 in the morning in the beginning of June, and you'll know what I'm talking about.

Well, I'm not surprised here, as this is Japan where everything is topsy turvy. I work in a government building (albeit once a week) and they won't turn on the air conditioning (no matter how hot it is) until July 1st. That is the rule, and it cannot be broken. It seems no-one finds this rule strange except for me, the token gaijin.
My son goes to kindergarten, where "pool season" starts at the beginning of June which is still pretty cold. Half the kids end up catching a cold and taking a few days off school, then rainy season starts and they have little chance to go in the pool, then just as rainy season ends, so does "pool season". I questioned my wife, who is a former kindergarten teacher why they don't postpone pool season until August-September - the hottest months of the year - and she looked at me as though I was crazy. Her reply was "of course they can't go in the pool after summer break, they have to practice for the sports festival in October!"... well of course, silly me.

As a teacher, I can kind of understand how this guy feels. I want to do the same thing.

I guess tmarie and ukguyjp have a point here. I agree with Zenny etc that this was most likely a management decision with no input from the members of smap whatsoever, but still - you'd think with their popularity they could stand up for themselves and demand Johnny's gives "all" proceeds to charity... they are all either greedy and soulless and are happily going along with this plan to exploit their fans, or so scared out of their wits by their management they dare not speak up.
So what it all comes down to then is Smap is either greedy or spineless - perhaps even both.

Oh please... I presume you are a woman?
If this was a list of the "hottest guys" would you be complaining because only handsome, slim guys made the list instead of fat balding men with nice personalities?
How about next time they vote Morisanchu as "ideal women". Would that make you happy?

Actually, I just checked it out on Toyota's website.. certainly looks "better" than the current prius. It also says there is a button you can press which, when activated makes a sound (like a reversing beep perhaps?) while driving in EV mode under 25 km/h. It is touted as a "safety feature for pedestrians", so at least Toyota is listening to consumer complaints and trying to rectify them.
All in all I must admit it is a reasonably priced car considering what you get. The real let down for me with the prius is the cheap plastic interior. If on the higher end models they had a higher quality cabin finish with soft touch materials instead of the same cheap plastic found on their entry models, then I'd seriously consider it. Even a VW polo has a high quality cabin finish than the Prius Alpha G and it costs $10,000 less.

I'm going to give SMAP the benefit of the doubt on this. It's quite probable they had absolutely nothing to do with this idea - just something forced onto them by their taskmasters in Johnnys HQ.

Personally I prefer Yonekura Ryoko's body, face and fashion sense, but Norika is from Kansai so she gets a few brownie points for that (in my books at least).

True, not that I expected anything more from Johnny's. Absolutely disgusting. I hope at least one media has the balls to call them to task for this shameless money grab.
Buy the "EXILE charity miçanga" instead... Only costs 500 yen and ALL profits from that go towards disaster relief. I can't stand Exile, but at least they are more genuine in their efforts to help.

Actually, take a look at the car on the Honda website, and you'll realise exactly why he is standing in front of it. The back of the car looks hideous.

Yeah, they are a bit pricey, but they are catering to a niche market (us) so I figure they need to jack up the prices to remain profitable. I'm sure Costco must really be hurting their sales recently though. A majority of the stuff I used to get through FBC I now just buy at Costco for half the price.

The kids faces are hilarious, and Beiber's half-hearted smile suggests he is really thinking "what the hell am I doing here?"
But good on him for doing this though.
