Koreans learn Chinese characters in school, so it wouldn't take a braniac to understand what 日本 + 大地震 + 祝 meant. But yes, they eventually did the right thing, and have acted maturely in their response, so they deserve credit for that at least.

It was removed because the Japanese team complained. If they had removed it before the Japanese team had to complained about it, then indeed, kudos to them, but that is not the case.
I'm not suggesting all Koreans are anti-Japanese, nor that they approved of the banner, but I think a distinction should be made between the Korean officials taking the offensive banner down of their own accord, and doing so only after the Japanese complained about it. How much longer would the banner have stayed up had the Japanese not complained I wonder? Or how about if it was written in hangul?

It's good that they apologised, but would they have taken the sign down if Cerezo did not complain?

If they don't get paid and have no talent agency, no wonder the networks want to book them on their TV shows... it's much more cost effective paying a ludicrous appearance fee for some other just-as-unfunny tarento.

So when I look at a sexy woman walking down the road, will the car automatically honk the horn for me?

Ditto the other comments. What a crock. If mixi is for "real" friends, why does everyone use a handle name and avatars instead of photos of themselves? Mixi was a 出会い系 site for many, many people, until they got rid of the 足跡 feature and adult communities. Maybe now they are focusing on "real" friendships, but it certainly didn't start out that way.
Funny, I have never got either on facebook, but I get them all the time on Mixi.

I was thinking the same as presto345. Daihatsu is effectively Toyota's small-car division, so it's not as though they have really branched out or anything. I wish they made a kei-version of their iQ.
Where Prius excels is that it gets great mileage without sacrificing size or safety features. Sure you can get about the same mileage with a small car, but you are sacrificing comfort and safety features such as curtain airbags etc to keep the weight down.
In the suburbs where I live, everyone loves to drive Alphards or Estimas or similar people movers. Talking to my friends about mileage, most of them average about 10km-12km/l.... pretty dismal compared to a Prius. The best I can do in my 2009 model car is 15km/l on the freeway but the average is probably around 10-12km/l as well.
Maybe time to get a Hybrid.

Well right now it's Sony, Warner Bros, Universal, Paramount and Fox in one corner and Disney in the other... The odds don't look good for Disney.

The Mira is another eyesore for Japan's already clogged roads... Why can't they make a kei that actually looks good - like a 4 seater Copen or something..

So the guy was a tiger off the golf course as well as on it. What's the big deal? He's certainly not the only person guilty of infidelity.
Good on Tiger for helping out with this charity. I hope it's a success.

This will sound insensitive, but maybe JR should just make an official "Suicide Station". Have an empty train with a big bumper bar go around in circles and let people jump off the platform at will.
People contemplating suicide need counselling, don't get me wrong, but putting up barriers etc. will not solve the problem - they'll just find other ways to kill themselves - so why not give them the choice to do it in a way that doesn't inconvenience everybody?

Definitely a time-wasting, family-breaking, life-destroying vice.
There is a pachinko not too far from where I live that has a parking lot that rivals most shopping malls - and the parking lot is always full. Even before the place has opened, the parking lot is filling up and there is a 100m line of people waiting to get inside - every single day.
As a business model though, I'm envious as hell. My friend (her family) owns a pachinko chain, and they are absolutely loaded.

Electric toothbrushes actually. Johnny's found out that a good way to make more money is through product placement during their concerts. You'll see those shirts in Uniqlo in a few weeks.
