Evidence? You want doctor's receipts? It's not something most celebs go on tv and talk about you know. There has been plenty of gossip among Japanese for many many years about Seiko-chan and plastic surgery - just google it and look for yourself. The running joke is every time she goes to America she comes back with a different face.
If you can believe this

What surprises me the most is they actually have "policies".

Well no not seriously - rumor has it the devil is charming - and Ozawa certainly isn't that. : ) But "compromise" is two-way street. "Do what I say or else" is not compromise, it is becoming a puppet. How much was Ozawa willing to compromise with Kan?
Ozawa sunk the DPJ long before Kan ever came into power. Do you remember what a success Hatoyama was?

And who was Kan supposed to compromise with? Ozawa?
That's not compromise, that is selling your soul to the devil.

Not giving in to Ozawa... that alone shows real integrity and leadership in my books. Unfortunately, the Japan political system doesn't want real leaders, it wants puppets who will fall into line with the puppet-master Ozawa.
It's a paradox I know, but real leaders in the DPJ are doomed to fail unless they can get rid of Ozawa, permanently.

That's really what it comes down to doesn't it? In the end, the Japanese people only have themselves to blame for repeatedly voting these corrupt cronies into power.. most voters are so fed up with politics, they have given up trying to change anything. It is sad to see these corrupt politicians, but it is even more tragic to see the rampant apathy among voters.

As CactusJack says, this guy seems to have some mental problems.
He doesn't deserve jail time, he deserves decent psychiatric treatment.

I think he got a raw deal and actually feel kind of sorry for the guy. He wasn't the perfect PM, but I seriously doubt any other *honest * Japanese politician could have done a better job under the circumstances.

I laughed at all these comments at first, but that feeling soon turned to disgust at myself... a woman has been murdered, and here we all are having a laugh out of it.
It wouldn't be so funny if she was your sister or friend. RIP.

Actually, I should correct this. Her original statement was "Yuaru-chan didn't want to go to the police", but after further questioning, using God-knows what sort of interrogation techniques, she broke down and told the story of her own daughter who she cannot meet and how she wanted to keep the girl.

Indeed, very strange. The Asahi article in Japanese doesn't mention anything about Ms Nakagawa being an acquaintance of the child's mother, so I wonder if the details in this article are wrong?
Japanese reports say Ms Nakagawa didn't take the girl to the police because she has a child who she cannot meet and was lonely, so didn't want to give Yuaru-chan back.
This is not just a case of a Good Samaritan getting a raw deal. The child was not harmed physically in any way, but that does not excuse her actions.
Although Ms Nakagawa's actions are strange to say the least, I worry more about the actual mother of the child. Reports say she is a single mother with 3 children, Yuaru-chan being the oldest. How could any mother in her right mind leave her 3 toddlers - for up to 6 hours by themselves?

Mr Johnny figured that out a long time ago. Just look at all the boy bands around that look like girls.
This guy actually looks a bit like Yoshiki from X Japan with those shades on.

I still think importing Bill Clinton is Japan's best bet.... they import their company presidents, not to mention baseball players, soccer players and sumo wrestlers, so why not politicians?
Hell, you could even give Steve Jobs a go now that he is retired.

Err, why don't they try and stamp out organized crime from their own ranks first? Oyabun Ozawa should be the first to go.
I'd appreciate it if they made an effort to stamp out organized crime from general society too, not just from among the social elites.
