World leaders can't take action to stop climate change because the so-called experts can't agree on what's wrong, if anything, and what to do about it.

Tiger Woods is less than half black physically, so I would really say he deserves to be called Asian-American because of the half he got from his Thai mother. (But America's racist past to all those with any drop of black blood in them leads to the current African-American label.)

Tiger is married to a white woman. He plays a sport utterly dominated by whites and, to an increasing extent of late, Asians. There hasn't been one other black American man on the PGA Tour over the past dozen years since Tiger's first appearance, if memory serves me correctly.

As Tiger turns 34 in a number of days, he needs to rededicate himself to his family, first and formemost, and afterwards to his golf game if he wants to accomplish what is necessary to be known as the #1 golfer in history.

Forget about what the black community thinks about you, Tiger, and be more truthful to your Asian side.

Yes, and if we take out X number of enemy fighters over the next couple of years, the enemy will recruit the same number again or more to keep the war going.

And President Barack Obama will be looking for a new job come Jan. 2013.

I've never understood the popularity of Akina Minami. I guess she has the necessary people in her agency behind her and she puts out enough "cuteness" that the public also buys.

I like Uno Kanda in a way because she makes it clear what she wants and she goes out there and gets it.

    You got that right.

Mao Asada is becoming an attractive young woman. I don't think it's so unusual for female figure skaters to go through a period of adjustment in their skating as their bodies change.

If she can back on top of her game, fine, if not she'll have plenty of other things to do with her life in a few years.

The U.S. needs Michael Moore as much as it needs Glenn Beck.

"Three U.S. troops were killed in southern Afghanistan on Sunday—two in a bombing and a third in a separate firefight—while another was killed in the east of the country in a bombing on Monday, NATO said in a statement.

The deaths bring the number of Americans killed in Afghanistan in November to 15. October was the deadliest month for U.S. troops in the eight-year war, with 59 dead."

Not to worry U.S. troops as President Barack Obama will make his decision on how much help you all should get sometime in the next few months.

    "A jury for starters......

A military tribunal, or commission, is different from a regular civilian criminal court. In a tribunal, military officers act as both judge and jury. After a hearing, guilt is determined by a vote of the commissioners. Unlike a criminal jury, the decision does not have to be unanimous.

This Administration should be ashamed of itself for even thinking of allowing these self-proclaimed terrorists any chance in hell to rub salt in the wounds of the families of the 9-11 victims. A civilian trial will do just that......Unbelievable."

Thanks for taking the time to respond to adaydream's question.

I'm not quite sure why he had to ask it in the first place, though.

I think Thomas Paine had the answer in a book title.

President Obama and Attorney General Holder will rue the day they made this stupid decision.

Let's just hope the venue for this dog-and-pony show trial doesn't leave them with something else on their hands.

"pathat, the US was up against time restraints with respect to trials and keeping these terrorist/criminals locked up. If we wanted to keep them locked up or even put to death we had to charge them with crimes and try them.

Basically holding military tribunals or civilian trials still gives the defendants the opportunity to speak at their trial/tribunal.

Knowing the above, what is your suggestion? You fear? They still go to trial. If you don't try them, then they become releasable within certain time restraints. But they will get to walk.

What is your plan to hold them for the rest of time and keeping them silent to the world? < :-)"

It's very simple: There was no reason for these scumbags to get the rights of American citizens by trying them in federal court in NYC. They should have been tried in a military tribunal.

I think you know me well enough from years ago on the old JT that I do not "fear" what they will say as concerns the Bush administration, and most certainly not about our stupid war in Iraq.

But to give them a "platform" to spout off their twisted views to the world, is mind-numbingly ignorant of the Obama administration, in my opinion.

My true fear is that the people who want to carry out attacks on Americans on home soil will move from more complicated attacks to ones in which they will sacrifice themselves in simple outbursts with guns or backpack bombs in the near future, and NYC might be their venue of choice when the trial circus starts.

    I hope I'm wrong.

No knowledgeable baseball fan would want to see the Yomiuri Giants and their many reject foreign players play a best-of-seven series against the MLB champions, the New York Yankees.

For a real world championship down the road, MLB/NPB and other baseball countries need to realign the WBC format and the time of year it is played every 4 years.

Pawatan: Yes, like Alex Ramirez in 2008.

I'm merely commenting on the continual, albeit gradual, progress Japan is making in NPB by treating foreign players more as legitimate team members, and moving toward a situation where awards like those discussed here are commonplace and based solely on merit.

When it’s time to wake up, a referee’s voice counts down and the bell or gong rings.

This is the last thing a person should need to wake from a peaceful sleep.

If you're a deep sleeper in the Tokyo area, not to worry as the flocks of crows will make sure you rise n' shine on time every morning.
