Bottom line is, she said she was going to Japan with her kids for a holiday and then would be returning so they could head back to school. She decided not to return and straight out broke the law. A warrant was then issued for her arrest. Ever since she has been protected by the Japanese government and police. This is nonsense. There are hundreds of similar situations that nothing is being done about. Time to get tough. The diplomacy route has taken well over 15 years on this issue and isn
t working. Mass protests and pressure are required if anything is to be done quickly. Peoples lives are being unnecessarily affected with hardship. Sign the Treaty Japan. Youll move up at least one notch on the belt.Posted in: American father arrested in Japan had asked Tennessee court for help

People are horrible drivers in Japan. They stop anywhere without assesing their surroundings, signal when they start to turn and run lights. As sad as this case is it just doesn`t surprise me.

Why don
t the cops ever arrest the boyfriends or ex-boyfriends who stalk or assault their partners? Like in many previous cases on JT. Like the guys who dont understand the word "over" or "no" and continue to harass. You know, the cases in which the cops say we cant press charges and then the girl ends up dead. Then again shes a celebrity. Any wonder this guy got nailed. Strange!Posted in: Iwate man arrested for stalking voice actress Haruna Ikezawa

6 years of compulsory English education and Japanese still have little clue. Sad!
Very true. But they don
t have to do anything to pass. They can just show up (actually they dont have to show either). I think thats probably the biggest problem. Ive always wondered why the creators of such messed up English just don`t hire a native speaker to make up the logos etc.Posted in: What do you think about the way English is used in the branding and marketing of products in Japan?

Sounds like gentle coersion. A little brainwashing to remind the kids that if they get out in the community and do work it`s less for the politicians to do in the end. He should have told them to stay focused in school and to not worry about violence, corruption, racism, poverty, unemployment, being malnourished, starving, their parents losing shelter and savings etc. etc. etc. because the big boys in Washington are the ones responsible to sort these ongoing problems out.

I see teachers slapping and man handling kids all the time. If they think this is an isolated incident then they are fooling themselves.
