Very sad. But in the end if they didn
t have the money to pay the bills the government programs or creditors wouldnt have given a squat about this familys situation. Children or not. Thats a fact! If the creditors have their cash and you are on the street they dont lose sleep. You are not their friend. There wouldnt be millions of foreclosures if this wasnt the case...I dont agree with what he did but he might have lost "all hope" and when that happens people do strange things. I hope this doesnt become a trend. Many people are on the edge right now and are giving up. Wheres the empathy in this "COOLING" world.Posted in: LA man, upset over being fired, kills wife, 5 kids, himself

No layoffs should occur until these 3 steps have been exhausted:
A. Company savings have been used.
B. Liquidate unnecessary goods. C. Workshare. Decrease the salary of those who were not going to be affected (including all management)and disperse the money to those who were supposed to be out.

My neighbour upstairs complained to my landlord that I was playing my acoustic guitar too much and said stop it. I told him that when people start complaining about the young couple next door who fight, drink, have parties and make tons of noise all night I
ll consider practicing somewhere else. I havent been bothered since. My door is always locked.Posted in: 69-year-old man stabs noisy neighbor in Nagoya

USB,
Their wages are great to begin with. 30-60 dollars per hour for Flight Attendants. There are thousands of Pilots who work less than half a month and still get paid 150-200 thousand dollars/years. That
s just 2 sections. Unions can play a crucial role to help employees gain security and increase their wages but lets be reasonable. In anycase, fuel is unjustly expensive and the technique being used to sell tickets is criminal. Just think if a small shop or individual did this.Posted in: Why aren't fuel surcharges on airfares coming down?

It
s because they need the money to pay for the high wages/salaries, perdiums, drycleaning (of their staff), and they have to appease the unions. If the pay isnt good enough therell be a strike which will cost millions a day. Aviation was my major in Uni and I worked in the field for about 10 years. Theres lots going on...and in the end people will still fly.Posted in: Why aren't fuel surcharges on airfares coming down?

Weasel, People don
t need to be working 100 hours a week, slow down production, and lower wages so they can be dispered a little more fairly and then ride it out. It wont last forever. Let`s just wait and see if all these companies re-hire the numbers they let go. Doubt it. Lowering the price of cars might help too. Companies just want big money the fastest way they can get it.tmarie,
Very true but nobody should be out of work. Cut Bonuses? Really? Every Japanese person I know working at a major company or Government office got a bonus in December. CEO`s and upper level management should be responsible for fixing these problems instead of just laying off all the time. I mean why did have these employees work like machines to pump out so much if the economic situation was becoming obvious months ago?

If they have to smuggle things in then they must need supplies to get by. I don
t know a place in the world that wouldnt resort to smuggling if all other "common" means of receiving goods were cut off. Human nature.Posted in: Gaza tunnels back in business

The Sun is also getting hotter. So if the Sun is getting hotter don`t you think the Earth would do the same? There is proof that it is a contributing factor to Global Warming and as time passes by (millions of years in the future)everything will eventually burn up or evaporate and we will be able to do nothing about it.

This situation is a result of "Failed Politics." 20 years down the road and not a thing done to stop this crap. I wonder why... Probably because trade and economics are of far greater importance (to Governments anyway) than whaling. Everyone knows that. If there is money to be made it
ll be without any ethical consideration. Its sick but the world is becoming a sespool because the changes needed for improvement are taking too long and eventually became forgotten or people don`t have the energy, time and resources to continue fighting.Posted in: Australia: diplomacy, not courts best way to stop whaling

This is proof that there is a huge gap between the rich and middle-class. There doesn`t seem to be much of a slow down on pricey items unlike most standard things.

People in this world have been of service for ages. How about the Big Bosses be of service and get the problems sorted out...When there are less worries in the world then maybe everyone will have the time, money, frame of mind, energy etc. to help out more. Until then, I think the majority are doing their best to get by.
