The Japanese people should vote for Yukio Hatoyama, who heads the opposition Democratic Party of Japan which will bring prosperity and a more independent and free thinking Japan. Congratulations Bill for a great PR & top class diplomacy - however, to the best of my knowledge and understanding, the only reason why Kim Jong Il agreed to release the two journalist is a way to say sorry for having called Bills wife Hillary "Funny Lady" and "Old Age Pensioner going shopping" and finally, "a primary school girl" who does not know what she wants.Of course, all this was behind the scene and not for general public knowledge, but, the other reason is that Kim and the North Koreans like America and would like to develop a deep relationship. American should stop call North Korea and others "Axis of Evil".

I fail to understand what the British are doing in Afghanistan. In spite of having been told by the old guard and other British Colonial era experts the present government is determined to continue this senseless occupation of Afghanistan and getting the young soldiers killed. The British are cleverer and wiser and should know better. As for the Americans, well I feel sorry for them, their leadership and the generals learn the hard way, as usual.

Why did the 13-year-old runaway girls want to runaway - where are the parents and why did they create a situation where these girls decided to runaway from home...this is a serious matter and the authorities should find the cause and reason behind all this. The parents should be reprimanded and the schools should keep a check on students. In this case the men are guilty of taking undue advantage of the situation and should be punished accordingly.

A great idea - may I suggest that in future they should make the Ambassador dress-up in the ancient Japanese costume for the ceremony and the horse riders and other officials too should dress-up like the ancient Samurai Warriors. It is guaranteed to be a great tourist attraction - if I was the Ambassador I would most certainly do it. Farakh Malik

I feel that this call is uncalled for - the WW II is over many terrible things happened. If all the other nations who were the cause of great sufferings during the wars to people are prepared to apologize Mr Taro Aso may consider. However, the first nation to set the trend should be the USA who have during the WWII and and to-date have caused great sufferings to the people of Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Japan followed by the people of Vietnam, followed by the people of Iraq and now Afghanistan. The US President, the Vice President the Defense Secretary accompanied by all the Generals should go on a special apology safari starting from Japan and going on to the other countries. In Japan they should apologize the way the Japanese do it.

Very tragic indeed - the father may have drowned due to forceful pull of the undercurrents and got knocked-out. A word of caution to all swimmers in the Sea of Japan which may still have a surviving population of Japanese Mermaids and Mermen living undersea - they are very cute looking human look alike, with long smooth jet-black hair and upper body having soft smooth skin like silk and lower hip below tail-end covered with fish scales. They are known to be carnivorous and very fond of eating fresh human flesh - in a the ancient times their victims were mostly sailors who had not seen land or women for months on end and were an easy prey. They may still exist and I suggest that the Japanese people who go fishing or swimming be extra vigilant.....Farakh Malik

It i time every country became friends - making friends is not all that tough, just smile and you will get a smile back - so is the case with North Korea - Japan should extend a hand of friendship instead of going in for Sanctions - surely Kim too would do the same.
