    Hikozaemon:

ands up who is married to a Japanese wife, and thinks that Japanese women are submissive.

I'm married to a Japanese woman, and she's everything BUT submissive! In fact, she scares the crap out of me! lol I've dated Japanese girls in the past (before I married) who absolutely were/are submissive and one in particular I wish I'd stayed with sometimes. But, my wife is far more tolerating of me than any western girlfriend I ever had was, and she does more for me than any western girlfriend I had did. Having lived here for nine years, I could never go back to being with a western woman now. And I'm not prejudice in any way, I just appreciate the fact that Japanese ladies are far easier to get on with!

I can't speak for other father's, but if I was to divorce and my wife wanted to keep my son, I'd do everything in my power to make sure HE was okay and happy. If that means only being able to see him on weekends or whatever, so be it. As long as he's as balanced as possible, even under the circumstances, that's what's important. People need to learn to put their own selfishness away and think things through and then they'd have no need for going off the rails in such a way. The mother was doing the best she could for her kids, still holding down a job. There was obviously a reason for the divorce, and perhaps this guy just proved it. May she rest in peace and God bless her kids.

ToughGuyBanker: I hear ya on that, but in Japan, I have yet to meet a single person who owns a supercar that is actually worthy of it. Not saying all Japanese guys who own a car like this are unworthy, but for the most part, they just don't appreciate the sheer beauty, power and prestige of owning one. They just think they do.

Why sell these goods in the first place? I mean, how can anything toxic be good for cleaning the home? That's why I use Melaleuca products - non-toxic, safe for kids and saves me money!

780,000 times in nine months is practically impossible. He'd have to be clicking 516 pages an HOUR in a given 40 hour work week. Granted, he was probably working a lot more hours, but even if he was working say 70 hours a week, he'd have to still click approximately 342 pages an hour! If each page takes approximately 5 to 10 seconds to load up, we can see that it becomes near on impossible and senseless to even try, given that he wouldn't have time to view them. Probably clicked on a mere several hundred pages with a crap load of links that work behind the scenes. This would make more sense.

Anyway, obviously the guy's a perv and not very computer literate, otherwise he would have used a legal software program to keep his computer clean such as http://www.regcurescan.com

Never mind reducing his pay - send him to the dole office!

What differentiates a really good hamburger from an average one?

That's easy: Any burger NOT made in Japan!

McDonalds in Japan is a complete joke and a waste of money!

Fortunately, I live near a US base, and visit friends who are stationed there regularly. We usually hit the Burger King or Wendy's on base and WOW! What a HUGE difference in both price and quality, compared to the crap they server in Japan!!

The burgers are REAL meat and more than twice the size, and yet, I can get enough food from the base burger bars to feed a family of four in comparison to the Japanese Macca's, and for the SAME PRICE!!

Ever looked at the burger in the bun at a J-Macca's? As an ex meat factory worker, I can assure you, the meat in those burgers is approximately 10% beef, 80% innards and 10% other crap! Play 'SPOT THE VEIN' next time you look at a McDonald's burger! Spot less than ten pieces and you're a winner (but this is usually not possible!).

It might be time to open a new fast food store where the prices are reflective of what you get - not 680yen for a pile of steaming crapola!

One other point: Is the declining population really a bad thing for Japan? I don't think so. There's hardly a street in the country where you don't see a car every 15 seconds! There are way too many cars on the roads of this little island and given that it's only 25% bigger than the UK (although it takes forever to drive anywhere here in Japan, unlike the UK - not including the M6 of course) the fact there are still some 125 million people here, is testimony to the fact that greater birth control needs to be instilled. That itself can start in the classroom, teaching the youth the importance of self control, using condoms and the responsibility of pregnancy and child rearing! The old generations are dying off quickly - and that's not a bad thing for Japan, too many of the old farts are holding onto a past life and bringing the country down with them by doing so! The only real problem is, the younger generation are numbed by the talentless 'talento' on TV and believe themselves to be Buddha's gift to the earth and the rest of the Earth's populus! Education is in dire need of replacing with modern standards and not those dished out by the idiots in power at the Ministry of Education. Patriotism is something you should have the right to choose to follow, not force-fed to you.

Japan is changing, and only the money makers and government give a crap, because I sure as hell see a better Japan coming!

    skipthesong:

If you look at the states at the moment

Well we're NOT looking at the States, we're looking at Japan. You have some good points, but please, don't be one of those that always tries to compare Japan to the US! Japan is NOT and never will be, the US! There's NOTHING to compare!

HA! And this in the wake of the government stating that all foreigners must speak proficient Japanese if they want to stay!

Japan, like every other democratic country, is going down the tubes very quickly. But hey, that's what happens when the people allow their country to be continually abused by corrupt government ministers, force-fed how to live and the lifestyles they should have by the TV garbage that is shown on TV, as well as having a culture that doesn't discipline kids enough!

Sort that out and perhaps then you'll start to see a culture that's not afraid to show some true feelings to each other, can then procreate and perhaps work together without any false misgivings.

Well it's good to see they took this threat seriously for once! Although, J-cops working undercover may as well wear luminous vests with a big neon sign flashing 'COP' above their heads for all the good they do. They stand out a mile - here's a hint boys: wear something other than blue pants and black shoes! How come we never see female officers in these roles? Oh, I forgot, this is man run Japan.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure this guy will be spending some time in police custody. What a loony tunes for making such a stoopid call!

Is that true about the 2nd floor law? We received something in the free newspaper for our area today saying something about smoke alarms, but wasn't sure about the law thing. We have 'em anyway, just to be sure, but we're also fortunate that we live in a bungalow with a large garden, so if there was a fire, we'd all be out the bay windows and onto the front lawn in seconds. Japanese houses are not exactly the best for fire safety and it's amazing how quickly they go up in flames, literally in seconds! That's a lot of animals that perished and while I don't want to speculate, the shop owner is going to receive a very tidy sum in insurance claims....providing of course he had insurance.
