The legal age for being able to sign a model release, clothed, in Japan is usually 18 years old and 20 years old for nudes. However it may vary by prefecture for clothed models.

I don't know how the US looks bad in this. They supported a stable government that had made peace with its neighbours and seem to be sitting on the sidelines now, not putting a finger on the scale.

The main cause of the French revolution was rising food prices, very similar.

I'm sure the people of Melbourne are happy to pay an extra tax to give to the people in Brisbane who built their homes on the flood plane.

I would normally agree with the anti-PKO crowd but after 2 hours of play without either team taking the advantage it was great to leave it up to the men in goal to settle it and Kawashima was the better keeper and he really put is training and courage to the test.

@Triumvere I agree. The fall of the corrupt US backed Ben Ali could be the crack that topples a series of governments across the region; an event similar the the fall of the Berlin Wall. The leaders of Egypt, Syria, Libya, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Gaza, Lebanon and Iran might be feeling the heat.
I don't think the majority of the people want to be ruled by either terrorists or corrupt western backed dictators; everyone wants to be free.

The Lord Mayor Campbell Newman of Brisbane, himself is calling for a public inquiry into how the state and local governments, across Queensland, can better protect their communities from the risks of flooding; i.e, build smarter.
A quote from Mr. Newman, "Everyone has to front up, accept what has happened" and be accountable."
A news.com.au story says "An inquiry should also examine local government policies that had permitted the building of thousands of properties in low-lying and flood-prone areas" and quotes Mr. Lord Mayor Newman as saying "There's obviously been policies between 1974 and 2004 that have contributed to the problems in this flood."
Build smarter.

@tigris How can a town in a valley be "on top of the mountains?"
"Toowoomba, a city west of Brisbane in the Lockyer Valley"
Parts of the city are high, others are not, and there is definitely a river (Gowrie Creek) running through Toowoomba, always has been, The Murray river starts there, and probably everyone in Australia learns that in elementary school.
Most of the city of Toowoomba is (was) built inside a drained swamp.
Tell me about this "friend" of yours again.
But I was talking about Brisbane anyway.

@AdamB Building your city in a flood plane and not straightening out the river bends is a recipe for disaster. The river either needs to be straightened or a straight floodway built around the city that allows upstream rains to quickly flow to the sea.
There is no excuse for a modern city like Brisbane to ever be flooded.

Let me look into my crystal ball.....it is 2012 and the temporary tax cuts are about to end again, the republicans promise to keep the cuts for another two years and the democrats are left holding their hats during the next election season.

There will not be a war. South Korea is winning the only war that matters, the economic one, and every day that goes by gives them a bigger lead.
I think the people of South Korea would rather suffer the odd casualty than go through a war, no matter how brief. Wars are "fine" as long as they are fought on somebody else's land.

I think the way the law is written in Sweden means if a man has intercourse with two separate woman on different occasions within a short period of time; one on Monday and one on Thursday for example, then the first woman from the Monday can claim that she was molested.

Well actually, thousands of Americans go to Mexico for procedures every year, and not just for boob jobs. Prices are about half; a bypass costs about US$ 24 000 in Mexico.
Conversely, rich Mexicans travel to the US for surgery.
Like everything, it sucks to be poor.
One thing I think everyone can agree on is that the baby boom generation threatens to bankrupt every "rich" country unless health care costs are slashed.

TimRussert Canadians going over the border is a meaningless argument as millions of Americans go to Mexico or cross state lines for care. Steve Job had to travel half way across the country to get his liver transplant but that may not be an indictment on care in California.
I do agree that the, hack, hack, government should set up some sort of no fault insurance system for all medical procedures modeled on the adverse reaction fund for vaccines.
Most medical mistakes are due to systems and procedures and hospitals and doctors need to come forward to improve the system.

I wonder how close government revenue from resources from the land comes to covering health care costs in your country?
