I'm sure he only did this because he was jealous of richer kids and was upset about his home life. Poor little lad. Instead of locking him up we need to give him a hug and try to understand him. SARCASM OFF

Lets give the guy more than a few days in office before we judge him to be anything. I do have hopes he will put values back into the phrase "American values". Also that he will restore life in "American way of life". For the last 8 years America threw values out the window by acting like we could throw weight around any where we pleased. We've unleashed a death machine that has been breeding future terrorists. It will take time though to change these horrible mistakes.

Some are criticizing the man before he can get his seat warm in the Oval Office. Others are making the man out to be some kind of cult leader. Making Mr. Obama out to have the ability raise the dead and heal the sick. Both views are too extreme.

He is up for some big challenges, there is going to a lot of tests of his "mettle" from some "leaders". It is going to take a lot of time to correct some of the messes, and some messes may not be corrected in one term. Before we liken him to FDR, JFK, or anybody else, lets give more than his first 72 hours. Lets wait about 72 weeks to see if he is doing what he has promised or not. I'm still waiting for him to define what to "hope" in and what he is going to "change". I do have hopes he can make changes, and I am proud he is my president. Patience and time are factors in judging performance though.

My question would be why they didn't have this exercise in warmer weather.

Uncles Taro and Shintaro don't want us to get too comfortable here. Nyuk, nyuk. Seriously, I wish Nagoya had something like this. In Kasugai where I live the Red Cross sponsors practice drills in Japanese, Portuguese, English, and Korean, together at the same time, but only a handful of people show up. It's only a 20 minute trip on JR from Nagoya Station. I seriously feel sorry for people if Tokai has the big one. People will seriously freak out.

Only the Royals are more of a dysfunctional embarrassment.

Hey dont forget my beloved Cubs. Nyuk, nyuk.

Isn't it about time that Japanese baseball lost it's chip on it's shoulder about Japanese players leaving and going to the majors ?

They can't, they're too jealous its not them playing. Jealous of playing for real teams that don't need to be owned by corporations to stay alive. Good luck to Uehara he plays very well, and perhaps he can be of great help getting the Os out of their slump. Not much for my Cubs, but there's always next year.

I think the main point is being missed, my dog would have been elected if he had a (D) and not an (R) after his name on the ballot.

There is an area in Nagoya nicknamed "Chosen shi". It's between Rokuban Cho and Nagoya Ko stations. The area is home not only to Korean workers for Toyota, but also Brazilians, Filipino, Chinese, and Vietnamese. I love this part of town. It has a flavor and feel all its own. More cities in Japan need this variety.

Also the Marine Corps is part of the Department of the Navy. Marines serve on all US Navy vessels and work security on many, but not all, Navy bases. On any Navy base you will find Marines. The nickname "Leather neck" comes from the protective collar they wore defending the rigging of Naval ships when the great sails were still used.

Aso was baptized Catholic, but has said in many interviews he hasn't attended Mass outside of funerals of family members as an adult, and has had none of his children baptized.

The friendly and unpretentious Toyoda, who has appeared before reporters in a racing outfit—unusual among staid suit-clad Japanese executives—has come to symbolize the rejuvenation of Toyota’s management.

PR person: Here sir wear this racing suit.

    Toyoda: What? Why?

PR person: It will give the appearance that you are young, daring, and will rejuvenize the company.

Toyoda: OK, but are you sure?

PR person: Trust me, here is all the research data and poll numbers.

Toyoda: Well as they say, image is everything. Banzai!!!

“I want to experience various things while I’m in my 20s, and get married by 33!”

Haven't we who live here heard this from every other Japanese 20 year old. Is this like a set phrase they are tought to parrot back. I've heard this continually from young women for 12 years.
