"What is Ichiro to do? In this kind of environment, I would probable be selfish too and look to pad my stats."
What is Ichiro to do ? Well it appears he surveyed the landscape, himmed and hawed a bit, and then signed on the dotted line for millions of dollars ! Sorry Duck, you seem to want to justify Ichiros behaviour by placing the blame on Seattle. I say nonsense, Ichiro didn't have to sign with Seattle... he chose to. The fact that that decision is blowing up in his face in nobodys fault but his. I say if Seattle is smart they trade him ! Griffey is back in town, Japans economy is all but sunk so you aint gonna see any Japanese tourists anytime soon... yep, Ichiro has all but worn out his welcome. Ship him off to Toronto... let the Canadians deal with him for a change.

Please stop saying that Japans markets are falling because of fears of the "global" economy ! Japans fears are domestic... as in they have realised they can't export their hind end out of this mess, and Aso aint gonna do squat to fix the domestic economy. This explains why the USA sees economic growth in January and Japan is well... in the toilet !

Nothing "unjust" about the internment of Japanese living in the USA during the start of WWII ! One only has to look at what happened in both Vietnam and Iraq to know that you never know who your friend or foe really is. Hell, one could argue if it weren't for the internment camps many Japanese could have easily been targets for espionage, suicide bombings, or any other kind of evil acts against Americans. History has shown that the Japanese at the time simply couldn't decide where their loyalties were. Many continued to communicate with relatives back home, and damn few joined up to support the US cause against the attackers of Pearl Harbor ! That in itself was reason enough to lock em up and keep a watchful eye. Sorry, I have no pity for those who lived in the internment camps.

This happened to me. The dirt bags at Berkeley House Language School entered my apartment while I was gone and stole all my belongings and hid them. I called the cops who wanted to see a copy of the apartment contract...there was none ! Japan is an ass-backwards country in many respects. They bragged for years about how unique their business culture was, with lifetime employment and all. Funy thing is, the first time their lifetime employment system was really challenged, well it fell apart at the seams ! Another unique Japanese tradition proven to be nothing but smoke and mirrors.
