These GUYS will nitpick any everything these women do until they all resign. I say hang in there and prove you are strong enough to handle the job. Stop being weak and destroying my daughters future.

Actually it was Renho, the female polititcian from the DPJ that was leading the attack, and it was quite humorous on tv

Used to work in a bank. We counted the money by hand and one day I just felt a counterfeit note. US bills use specific paper only for notes so it was easy by hand to recognize but not so by eye.

Why use names if you're going to repeat?

Names are only "retired" if the typhoon, hurricane, cyclone becomes infamous (Andrew, Katrina etc)

Someone must have said female names for hurricanes are too discriminating. It must be why weather agenciesare using these tribal sounding names these days.

The Northwest Pacific basin tropical cyclones were given women's names officially starting in 1945 and men's names were also included beginning in 1979. As of 1 January 2000, tropical cyclones in the Northwest Pacific basin are now being named from a new and very different list of names. The new names are primarily Asian names and were contributed by all the nations and territories that are members of the WMO's Typhoon Committee. These newly selected names have two major differences from the rest of the world's tropical cyclone name rosters. The names by and large are not personal names. There are a few men's and women's names, but the majority are names of flowers, animals, birds, trees, or even foods, etc, while some are descriptive adjectives. The names will not be allotted in alphabetical order, but are arranged by contributing nation with the countries being alphabetized.

2: When in Rome, you need to act like Romans. If you are in UK, you pay BBC via tax. Here you pay via subscription. Deal with it.

60% of Japanese don't pay, so why should we non-Japanese? That's what I told the NHK guy. I'll pay after the locals do too

    @Piotr

    Homosexuality is a learned behavior

Did you learn how to be heterosexual?

Unstable relationships based on sex, multiple partners, sexually transmitted diseases. People divorce more often nowadays, and marriage itself means next to nothing. People don't even think about having a stable relationship and even plan breaking up

You seem to be only blaming gays for some general human failings. Can't you understand we are all the same. Some gays have unstable relationships just like some straights do. Some have multiple partners just like straights. Some people like "kinky" sex whether they are gay or straight, some don't like it at all. WE ARE ALL HUMANS with our myriad variations. Please don't paint everyone with the same brush. It's impossible to do with any group of people

Fees are necessary to pick up trash, develop and maintain mountain toilets, pay for medical supplies and personnel at stations along the way and general maintenance of the trails.

Currently the above are taken care of by volunteers, and payments from the surrounding prefectures, as well as some part paid for by the lodging companies

You can probably play pachinko all day and not lose more than 50,000 yen. The same amount can be lost in the spin of a wheel or the turn of a card in a casino.

Evidently you haven't played pachinko much have you? It is VERY easy to lose 50,000 in one day, in fact within the space of a few hours if you are stubborn and get sucked into playing a machine that doesn't payout they particular day.

Exactly, but I've been to Vegas watching some high roller baccarat where they bet $20,000/HAND!! Of course that won't affect "normal" people since most don't have that kind of money to throw around, but the point is that it's so easy to lose more money in a casino than at pachinko. BTW is there any limit to bet size at the horses or keirin, boat races?

1 standardized test is fine if its just 1 aspect of admissions. When I went to Uni in the US the SAT ( only math and English) was 1/3 of consideration. Another 1/3 was high school grades, last 1/3 was extracurricular and essay

Next time that you go out with friends, ask how many are accepting of this. Nobody will raise their hands

I don't know anyone NOT accepting. You obviously hang out with a prejudiced group. Just mind your own business and stop interfering with other people's personal lives thank you very much

She is an empty air head of a talking personality and without any real depth of character or ability, another example of American shallow culture being exported because she is a visible face on the media wheel

I suppose you only know her from The View, not her extensive career in journalism and broadcasting. I've never seen The View, having lived in Japan for ages, but I also suppose you are not the target audience for it-a woman. It's like saying football has no skill involved just because you don't like it. To each his own, but no need to rip or denigrate-sheesh!

People who say civil unions are the same as marriage so why can't we just call it that ,don't understand the legal ramifications of the word "marriage". "Marriage" comes with literally hundreds of legal rights, benefits and responsibilities. Unless you are going to change the wording of every one of these to include "civil marriage" it's simply not the same. Having blacks sit at the back of the bus is not equal rights, nor is civil marriage

Mark G, K. Hawaii, ebisen, Chin4sailor; you can avoid going to Disney if you like, that's so trivial, but don't block 2 people who are in love want to spend their lives together with the same rights as everyone else.

Mark G, civil unions are so far removed from equal rights. There are over 1000 laws in the USA that only apply to married couples, not those in civil unions. For example, a straight American man can marry a "mail order bride" and bring her to the States with a green card, but a gay man can't bring his foreign partner to the USA no matter how long their relationship. It's good to see Disney and other American companies, politicians, people realize that 2 people in love are the same, no matter the make up of the couple and deserve to be treated equally
