Fact #1 Goldman sachs are just cashing in on this, like so many others. Its not for the benefit of Japan, its for the benefit of Goldman Sachs.
Fact #2 around the world, people are turning against the destrution of the environment through Wind Turbines in particular, and also dangerous Solar Power.
Fact #3 The entire "Green energy" thing is based on the theories of Antrhopogenic Global Warming, and the theory that CO2 is bad for the planet. There has been NO global warming for the past 16 years, and counting, while at the same time CO2 levels have increased, thus debunking the entire Alarmist AGW theories. Mankind does not influence the planet's climate, its all nature. Time to go back to plentiful fossil fuels and stop demonising CO2, which is essential for plant life.

An Inconvenient Truth for Al Gore and all the followers of his Global Warming Religion. There has been no Global Warming since 1997, instead, we are in an extended period of Global Cooling, thanks to the lack of sunspot activity. The cold weather in Hokkaido and throughout the Northern Hemisphere is just typical climate change, which has been happening for millenia, and has nothing to do with the activities of human beings.

Sharia Law belongs to Muslim majority countries. They can keep it. Interesting to read some of the comments on here about "religion" having no place in the laws of the land. The fact is, however, that in most countries of the world, many laws are based on at least five of the Ten Commandments given to Moses. Without them, the world would be in even more chaos than it already is. Most Sharia laws are based on the Koran, of course, and it would be intolerable for those laws to be introduced into Western countries, given the fact that pazt of the Koran teaches that "infidels" should be destroyed for not believing as they do. No thanks, we dont need Sharia Law.

I think that the figure of 5% of the Japanese population is way off the mark. Much, much higher than that, I'd say, given what I observe on a daily basis in this society, both on and off TV. Its all undercover, because its not really acceptable in Japanese society. Just look at the vast numbers of closet gay salarimen on the trains in Tokyo every day!, especially on the Saikyo Line.

I just read above that someone on this thread blamed George Bush for Hurricane Katrina! That is one of the dumbest comments ever. Its as dumb as saying that Obama got the ( now totally discredited) Nobel Peace Prize for what his peace efforts have achieved!

Its a pity George W Bush is not President of the USA right now. Obama is destroying the country. Roll on 2016, and hopefully Sarah Palin will become President and sort out whatever is left of once great America.

Yasukuni Shrine is founded on lies, deceit and a false history. It represents a "religion" which became so twisted before and during the Second World War that it was used by the fanatical Fascist Right wing in Japan to indoctrinate and brainwash the Japanese people into thinking that they were superior to all other races, that they were made differently from all other people in the world, and that they were born to rule and subjucate all the other Asian nations. It brainswashed the Japanese people into thinking that Emperor Hirohito was a "god" descended from the sun goddess, and if they looked at him, they would be blinded. They were brainwashed into believing that it was honourable to die for the emperor, and many young and deluded Japanese men did just that. To visit the Museum in Yasukuni is to see for yourself the extent and the results of this brinwashing, which is still carried on today by certain politiciians, teachers and Rightists, who deny the evil history of Japan's aggression and brutality. It made me very sad and also very angry to visit the Museum, and indeed the shrine itself, and to see people bowing before an edifice built on lies.

There has been NO "global warming" since 1997. The UNs IPCC recently admitted this, together with many scientific researchers. Melting ice in the Arctic and Antarctica happens due to nature, and it has been happening for tens of thousands of years. Its got nothing to do with the activities of human beings. We are now in an extended period of Global Cooling, not Warming. Michael Mann's infamous "Hockey Stick" has been shown to be false. Lots of "inconvenient truth" around us these days for the great High Priest of AGW religion, Al Gore! The Northern Hemisphere is currently enduring the coldest Winter and Spring for a long time, the third or fourth in a row, with still not much sign of heat.
In 2007, one of the doomsday Warming Alarmists told us that "by 2012, snow would be a thing of the past, and we will have to explain what it looked like to our children, because of global warming."
There seems to be no end to the falsification of data and the climate predictions of doom and gloom based on useless computer models, which prove nothing, coming from these people. Around the world, Australia has disbanded its climate change department, the New York Times no longer has an Enviromental Desk, Canada has just announced the end of its Climate Change Office, Forbes Magazine is now officially Climate Skeptical, together with The Economist, and more and more people have been waking up to the reality that we have been lied to, by people who want to make momey out of their endless fearmongering. Enough is enough. Summer melting in Antarctica? Summer, nature, in action.

President Obama: "Who are we here to represent?"
Mr Obama, you are there to represent and defend all the people of the USA, the Constitution, including The Second Amendment, and the borders. You are not there to be a despot, imposing a left of centre way of life upon US citizens, by overriding and changing the Constitution. Only about half the population voted for you. You are there because of the Will of the People, by the Grace of God. "One Nation, under God" remember?
I wish you well in your endeavours to lead the USA, and indeed, the world.

I didnt always agree with what Baroness Thatcher did while she was in power, but I did agree with about 98% of it. She was a great, strong leader, who transformed the UK. She stood up to the miners and their Marxist leader, who were intent on revolution, she defeated the Argentinians in the Falklands war and restored the islands back to British Rule, she took on the IRA terrorists and because of her, they were eventually defeated, and she was insturmental in brining to an end the Cold War and the defeat of Communism in Russia and other Eastern European countries. She was away ahead of her time with regard to the EU. She saw the EU exactly for what it really was, a useless comglomeration of nations, with aspirations to becoming a United States of Europe. She defended the UK against the attempts by the u to take away British Sovereignty. She was also ahead of her time with regard to the Theory of Anthropogenic Global Warming, seeing it as a vehicle which could be used by socialists using a "Green" agenda to mask an "anti capitalist, Left-wing political agenda which posed a serious risk to the future of mankind." She was a remarkable, intelligent lady, with an iron will. Its a
pity we don't have any politicians with the same guts today. She will be long remembered, and many
Rople around the world will always be thankful for her 11 and a half years as Prime Minister of the UK.

A sad day, when a country like New Zealand decides to re define marriage. I support the rights of homosexuals to live in freedom without harrassment, and to have "civil partnerships" if they so wish, but marriage for ever will be the union of one man and one woman. Anything outside of that is against the laws of God. Marriage was in the beginning, from ancient times, been a divinely - appointed union, between a man and a woman. Children are conceived through this sacred union. Children can never be conceived in a marital union between two men or two women. It is impossible, because it is in contradiction to the basic natural order of the universe. We were created in families. A man, the husband, and a woman, his wife. That is the natural way for the procreation of mankind. Therefore, the true definition of "marriage" can only ever be between one man and one woman.
Of course, two men and two women can love each other, and form a loving relationship with each other, but their relationship can never be called "marriage." Such a union is just not possible, no matter what is decided by a crowd of politicians, or society at large. Homosexuals have the right to live with each other in a relationship if they so desire, but I fail to see why they want to call it "marriage," because it can never be that. True marriage is between one man and one woman.

@uzneko: Are you asking a question directed at the Lord Jesus Christ, or merely using His Name as an expletive?
Perhaps I can answer your question., anyway. Governments lie, politicians of all shades lie, groups and organisations and individuals lie. Pay or bribe people enough and they will lie through their teeth. Of course, the WHO is capable of lying. Its made up of human beings, whose nature it is to be untruthful at times. We are all the same. I agree completely with the lady who is mentioned in the report above, and her supporters. Are you really surprised that there have been lies concerning the Fukushima Daiichi disaster? I lived through it, I personally have had radiation induced sickness, and I have met people in Fukushima who are suffering from radiation related illnesses. There are Todai professors who can tell you, with great passion, that the problems at Fukushima are many times worse than Chernobyl. Wait and see what untold horrors will come to Japan in the future, because TEPCO and the government have been lying constantly, and playing down the problems. They did that from Day 1.
Ordinary people can be very gullible, especially in Japan, If a university professor or a Government Official or a Scientist says it, it must be true, is the general attitude.Remember Climategate? Scientists lied and manipulated data for political and economic motives, to spread the lie of Anthropogenic Global Warming. For whatever reason, the WHO (linked to the UN, so we need say no more, if that organisation is involved) has not told the truth about Fukushima. Truth will always prevail and will come out in the end, though, we can be sure of that.

Marriage is, and always will be, between one man and one woman. Anything outside that is just not natural.
Part of the institution of marriage is for the procreation of children and the continuation of the human race. Two women or two men in a "married" relationship can never produce children naturally, therefore it is a nonsense to have homosexual marriage. I am all for equal rights under the law for homosexual couples who are in a loving and committed monogamous relationship, call it a Civil Partnership if you wish, but "marriage" it is not, and the majority of people in the majority of countries of the world agree. Aggressive homosexuals with an agenda to promote like this is doing more harm to their cause than good. The natural order of the universe and mankind is One Man plus One Woman = Marriage.

The Theory of Anthropogenic Global Warming is the greatest scam in world history. There has been NO "global warming" for the past 17 years, and even the Indian Railways expert who is Chairman of the UN's IPCC has had to reluctantly admit that, just a few days ago. The Warming Alarmists ( or should we now refer to them as Climate Alarmists?) base their theories on computer models, which deliberately omit the Medieval Warming Period and the Little Ice Age, so as to continue to avoid the painful truth.
Climate Change is Nature in action. It has nothing to do with mankind, and no amount of Carbon Trading, Carbon Footprints, and Carbon Taxation, and whatever other new and meaningless vocabulary they invent, will have any effect on weather patterns. Many of the "scientists" are so desperate for funding that they jump on the Global Warming bandwagon in order to get it. Their outbursts are becoming more and more hysterical as they lose the argument. Everything is blamed on "Global Warming" these days, from earthquakes to bowel movements. Thankfully, more and more people are awakening to the truth that Anthropogenic Global Warming is a scam.
