This is the most disgusting thing I have read this year. The current Japanese government really are not fit to govern. I hope Japanese people will take to the streets and force them out of Office.

One of the things I love about Japan is how it is a place apart from the rest of the world. As others have said, wearing fur in other parts of the world are often politically incorrect these days, but not in Japan. My own view is that the Animal Rights people are nutcases, and people shoulod wear fur as they desire. From ancient times, human beings have been using this natural rescource. One of the purposes anumals were created for was to provide us humans with food and clothing. More power to this lady and her fur wearing, but I have to say that this particular one looks slightly freakish, and it definately makes her look older.

This is good news from Japan. More CO2 gases is what the world needs, not less. I am glad that Japan
s levels have gone up. CO2 gas is necessary for the survival of the Planet. According to the "anthropogenic global warming" religion, CO2 gas is evil. The opposite is the case. There is no clear and absolute "consensus" among the worlds scientists that mankind is responsible for climate change. Climate change is a natural phenomenon. It has been happening for many thousands of years, long before the increase in population and long before the Industrial Revolution. So-called Climate Change "experts" have been spinning us untruths, based upon false data taken mostly from the past 150 years. Basic science teaches that before advancing any theory, or claiming that it is fact, you have to base your research on data taken over long time periods. Many of these climate change scientists, motivated by greed and a desire to enhance their own particular political dogma, rather choose to base their assumptions and their politico-religious ideas on flawed and sometimes devious research. They need to be ignored, and taxation based on this false religion needs to be resisted to the utmost. Japan should be commended, not condemned, for the increase of CO2 gases.

Softbank are rip-off merchants. Their charges are very high for the iPhone, and also they lock you into it so that you cannot change your phone company. I bought one of these from them and have regretted it ever since.

This "deal" will be like all the previous ones - it will fail, and this time I hope it takes the Euro out, and that it also results in the disintegration of the United States of Europe, one of the most undemocratic and wasteful conglomerates on the face of this earth.

Sorry, but I do not believe a word on this subject that comes from the Japanese Government, TEPCO, the IAEA or this French group of nuclear "experts." Why? Because they all have vested interests in trying to save nuclear energy, no matter what the consequenses for us all. Its sick.

This idiot should resign immediately. He is not fit for Office, much less for the Reconstruction post. His remarks about the tsunami victims are unforgivable, "proper translation" or not.

Unbelieveable. Pretty soon all of japan will be under huge levels of radiation. Maybe the wise ones were the "flyjin" and the many Japanese who left here in March?

Oh, and Id rather have a lot of CO2 emissions than chronic radiation emissions anyday. Perhaps Mr Beddintgton should ,move to Fukushima City, and take up residence there, if he is so sure its not harmful. Another news item on JT today is quite alarming in this respect.

As a UK citizen, I know that the majority of people in the UK are against Nuclear power, especially after Fukushima. This man Beddington represents no-one but himself. A growing number of UK citizens no longer believe the lies of the scam called "global warming." Climate change is not man-made, it is a natural phenomenon that has been going on for thousands of years. Beddington is merely a well-paid mouthpiece for the people with a vested interest in promoting the false ideology of "global warming." Only the other day, the so-called scientific "experts" who have been warning us of increasing global temperatures finally admitted what the rest of us have known for a long time - that world temperatures are actually cooling, and have been for the past decade and more.
Enough is enough. People need to wise up to the propaganda, especially since Fukushima. Nuclear power is too dangerous. We need to use more fossil fuels, which produce lovely CO2 gases, so that all the plants and trees can drink them in and produce oxygen for us to enjoy. All this talk of "cutting emissions" is rubbish. The whole scam is simply a massive con game, to force us to pay more taxes and so that governments can have more control over our lives than they already have. Time to say NO.

Sorry to disagree with you -but there are many thousands of exorcisms all over the world. every year. Western countries, Eastern countries, northern and southern hemispheres - makes no difference. Exorcisms happen daily.

I am not a follower of "religion" personally, but I defend the right of all people to have belief, or faith. Every human being is created with a desire to worship something, and that is the reason there are so many belief systems. To deny that is to deny your humanity. Your comments are slightly puerile and subjective, to say the least.

Interesting to read the comments of so many intellectual, and very tolerant (sic) atheists pontificating on this subject here. The general tone seems to be an attack on all "religion" because of one isolated incident involving a Buddhist monk and a distressed father in Japan. Without knowing any of the real facts of the matter, nor the mental state of the poor girl, they use this sad incident to lambast the followers of all religions as being some kind of subhuman species who are not really residents of the 21st Century.
The fact of the matter is, we have no idea what the real problem was with the poor girl. She could have had a mental illness, or she could have been demon-possessed. Demon possession is certainly not unknown in Japan, nor is it unknown in many countries of the world today. The only cure for demonic possession is, in fact, excorcism. Many "religions" try to practice their own brand of excorcism, often with terrible results, as was the case here. Speaking as a Christian, I was appalled to read of the methods used in this case. It sounds like some practices from the Dark Ages.
Just because you do not have any faith, except perhaps in Evolutionary Theory or its spawn, Humanism, does not give you the right to condemn the countless millions of people in the world who do have faith. If you cannot argue your point logically without hateful diatribes, then you really have already lost the argument.

Koizumi was in some respects one of the worst Prime Ministers Japan ever had. His frequent visits to the Yasukuni Shrine of Hate in central Tokyo did not endear him to Japan
s neighbours, nor did it endear him to a very sizeable part of the Japanese populace. The Prime Ministers since then have at least learnt the lesson that they should stay away from Yasukuni. The basic problem is that Japans political world is immature and there are far too many old men with their heads and hearts buried in the infamous past. Japan is basically being ruled by a giant chonaikai. The political world, together with the education system that produced the awful politicians, is so crass that there is little hope until both are changed completely, and released from the yoke of the endemic fascism, xenophobia and ethnocentrism at the core of Japanese politics.Posted in: Don’t expect another Koizumi any time soon

Im sorry, but if its a choice between believing what TEPCO/the Japanese Government/and the IAEA have to tell us, against what investigative journalists and other Nuclear experts and qualified academics are telling us, I go with the latter group, 100%. Most of us who live in Japan, love the country and its people, and do not have our eyes blinkered by an obsessive and puerile "Japan is a perfect country" mentality, know that truth is not endemic among the rulers of this country. They lied about Fukushima from the start, and they are still lying. They share that with the rulers and former rulers of the USSR/Russia, who also lied about the full extent of Chernobyl. Its all about money and power, and there is no thought nor consideration for ordinary people. Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

Why dont they just build new power stations and burn the debris to make electricity? That seems to be the best solution. That way, they will be able to produce cheaper electricity and also help the earth`s environment by producing more wonderful CO2 gases, instead of less. As you will gather, I am not a believer in the new religion of anthropogenic global warming. I think nuclear power plants should be closed down and replaced by fossil fuel plants.
