What exactly has Obama done to deserve this award? NOTHING. Before he became President, he arrogantly stated that he would "save the world." From what, God alone knows. Personally I think that the world, and America in particular, needs saved from him. This award of the Nobel Peace Prize to president Obama has brought the Nobel Institution into disrepute. The award should have been given to the Leader of the Burma Opposition, who has been a prisoner in her own home for th past few decades.

A sad day for Ireland, a sad day for all Europeans, and a sad day for democracy. This paves the way for a European Super State with Antoinette Blair as the "President." He will be unelected and unaccountable. Many Europeans have had no say in this "treaty." Its being forced down our throats. As a Brit - I dont want it, I dont want the Euro, I dont want the EU, and I certainly dont want anything to do with Antoinette Blair.

The racist/fascist Ishihara speaks again! This time, the loudmouth has made serious allegations against leading players on the IOC. Now, if I was one of them, Id be taking this racist bigot to and International Court for slander. There is no end to the ravings of this lunatic. He is trying to move the blame for his own failure onto others. Everyone else is to blame except him. What a joke this man is. He is dead wrong when he said that Tokyo
s video was the best - it was dead and lifeless, and featured a caucasian woman "athlete." No doubt that was to try to cover up all the racist and xenophobic remarks that he and his cronies have made over many years. It was not a good portrayal of Japan, and was half-hearted. The other presentations were much better- especially Rios. There was LIFE in the Rio presentation, and it was much simpler that the Tokyo one, which was all fur coat and no knickers. Rio deserved to win. Sorry to say it, but Tokyo didnt, this time.Posted in: Ishihara blames Tokyo 2016 failure on behind-the-scenes deals

Chicago and America did not deserve the Olympis - there have been far to many American Olympics in the past years. It was indeed a kind of slap in the face for Obama. Maybe he deserved to have his inflated ego punctured. As for his dear America-hating wife, the smirk on her face when the announcement was made said it all!

Another one! Safety standards in this country are appalling, as are parenting skills. What a mess this country is in.

s over-inflated ego needed a slapdpwn, that is what he got. More interesting was the smirk on his America-hating wifes face after the decision was announced.Posted in: Chicago's Olympic loss is blow to Obama, too

Groping on trains is a part of japanese culture. "Chikan" are everywhere, jusdging from the signs you see everywhere. In other countries, there are no such signs, because the general population knows exactly how to deal with such perversions/perverts. There is zero tolerance in other countries, unlike Japan.

This man is an evil dictator, ust like his chum Adolf Hitler who was responsible for the mass murder of over 6 million Jews and also the deaths of countless thousands of other nationalities as well,in his evil concentration camps. These are historical facts. I believe he is now suffering eternal judgement and punishment for his sins, just as this man will also follow the same fate if he does not have a change of heart before he dies. Mael Shame on you, to try to deny historical fact. The late President Eisenhour once stated that "some day, some bastard would come along and try to deny that this (the Holocaust) never happened, so he ordered photgraphs to be taken of what the Allied soldiers found upon entering the Camps. Those who attempt to deny history are of the same ilk as those who committed the evil in the first place.

Eddisobextar Your assertion that even those of us with lkkyu in Japanese cannot understand the politics well enough to vote is an insult to our intelligence. Even those with hardly any Japanese ability still have political opinions and enough gumption to exercise their democratic rights.

Definately, YES. I pay taxes, I have lived here for over 20 years, and I should have voting rights. Japanese people, or any foreigners for that matter, who are living, working or studying in the UK get automatic voting rights if they are there for longer than 6 months, even though they may be only short-term residents. I would have loved to have had the chance to vote in the recent election, and also in my local elections, to try to do something about the lack of services and also the waste of public money, due to the policies of the former corrupt LDP

I think this case is a good illiatration of the childish mentality of the Japanese. Their lives are very boring, and so this kind of story is what entertains them, coupled with the fact that as others have already pointed out, japan is a bullying society and they love to see people being bullied.
