Reading some of the posts here, I am slightly bewildered. Paris is notoriously dirty, yes, but Japan? Where do you people live? The litter in this country is appalling. maybe not so bad on some of the streets - but ever looked into a toliet in a train station? Ever seen the cigarette butts and empty cans where people gather? Ever driven along an expressway or seen some of the junctions, or traffic lights, where people dump their gomi? Not to mention Japan`s disgusting beaches. Ive even seen obaa chans dumping plastic bags full of gomi into the sea, weighted down with stones to make them sink to the bottom. So, to read that these wonderful Japanese citizens, albeit well-intentioned, are cleaning up Paris while their own country is a bit of a mess . . .its strange, to say the least.

I sympathise with this gentleman very much, and its an incredible story, to have survived not one, but two atomic bombings. It is like a movie script. The fact that he has lived to the age of 93 is also amazing, so the bombings couldnt have been that bad for him.
What annoys me about so many of these stories, though, is the implied innuendos about how bad the USA was in all of this, in dropping the A bombs in the first place, and how some people suggest that America should compensate all the victims. I am not American, but I am from another Allied country, which fought 6 long years against the debauchery and evil tyranny of Imperial Japan. The fact is that Japan started the so called "Pacific War" and Japan was also an integral part of the original "Axis of Evil" which included Germany and Italy. Many millions died as a result of the actions of these three nations. While Germany and Italy have fully repented of their past deeds, Japan is still inclined to play the victim, when it was most certainly not.
The dropping of the A bombs was a terrible result of unwillingness and refusal of the then Japanese Government, and its Emperor, to surrender, and to sacrifice every last Japanese in the process rather than surrender. They even instructed their own citizens in Okinawa to commit suicide rather than surrender to the barbarians. Sure, the atomic bombings were terrible - but I beleiver they actually saved japan and also the Japanese people, from even greater disaster. Many people died, but many more would have died if the bombs had not been dropped.

Another shocking case of daily life in beautiful Japan. Very sad indeed. It reminded me of the other sicko who pushed a salaryman to his death in Okayama Station last year. Like other posters have said, there are a lot of these sickos in this country...and I also take care when I am in a crowded station. I actually stand with one foot in front and one behind -to hinder anyone who would try to push me onto the tracks. One crazy Japanese woman tried to push me OFF a train last year - but so far, no-one has tried to ush me in front of a train . . . Another day in Japan. I hope this guy is left to rot in prison for the rest of his life. It is sad, though, that there are so many Japanese people who feel like this guy, sad, unloved and unwanted by Japanese society. There are really major social problems in this cpuntry - and sadly, the government does zilch about them.

So much for Obama and his "change." What a joke. Obama, and America with him, are finished.

Typical IRA thugs, who murdered and maimed people in Northern Ireland, the rest of the Uk and also in continental Europe for almost 4 decades. They never learn - their violence failed to bring about a "united Ireland" and this latest violence will also fail. They are discredited - a bunch of ignorant murdering scum, nothing more, nothing less. Oh - and they are sectarian, too - they love to kill Protestants and anyone who is British.

Because of the evil that is evolution, and its diabolical philosophy of the survival of the fitest, Hitler tried to exterminate the Jews and build a "master race." The actions of Obama yesterday are in effect no different - they lead to the same end. That end on this occasion will lead to the end of the American dream.

Another sad day for America. Obama is showing his true colors. he claims to be a Christian, yet he hastiliy reverses President Bush`s ban on Stem Cell research - which actually condones abortion and uses/abuses the dead bodies of aborted children for scientific "research." No wonder the once great America is currently in the terribly state it is in. It has turned its back on the God it professes to trust in, according to its dollar bills, which are now virtually worthless, just like its morals and ethics. This action by Obama is disgraceful for a professing "Christian." He claims to read the Bible every day, and believe it. He claims to be a Christian, but these actions show that he is lying. He claims that he will "save the world." But he has shown by his actions that he cannot save anything. He, and his country, is morally bankrupt.

Beelzebub - LOL good one. seriously, though, I am beginning to think that the water in Saitama ken is polluted with some mind - blowing chemicals. There seems to be no other news from the lace than this kind of thing, on a regular basis. Cho inaka.

hoserfella Mobile Phone = a telephone designed for use while mobile. Everywhere but in Japan, and especially on trains in Japan, where complete silence is the order of the day. At least when people use their phones on trains (which I have no objection to) they are engaging in human communication, different to the other 99% of mute people around them.
I do not like the people who are obsessed with and addicted to mobile phone useage, though. Its becoming a national disease in this country. Almost like a fetish, and I find it nauseating. The number of Japanese women, especially, who are constantly sprouting a mobile phone from the end of their arms while walking, standing, riding a bicycle, and doing innumerable other daily activities, is sick. They dont look where they are going, they are just glued to the stupid things, and need to get a life. They need to realise there is more to life than gazing at a tiny moblie phone screen for hours of your day.

While it is true that all Japanese women are not airheads, it is also true that quite a number of them are. Just sit on the trains every day and observe the airheads putting on their makeup, and using all these "skin products." Despite the posters advising them to "do it at home" many of them ignore this request and continue with their midless pursuits, even though most people are nauseated by their performances.

"Showing respect for the history and culture of Japan" is fine, so long as you know what you are doing. I was disappointed, but not surprised by the actions of Hillary. As a professing "Christian" and therfore a follower of the One True God, bowing down in front of a shrine dedicated to Japan`s 800 million Shinto "gods" shows that she has no understanding either of the Faith she professes to be a member of, nor indeed any clear understanding of the "history and culture" of Japan. It was State Shinto, represented by Meiji Shrine, which was responsible for the deaths of millions of Japanese and foreign nationals before and during the Second World War. Hillary has obviously not got a clue, and this act does not bode well for her time in office.

Yes, I think we all need to "Alert the dirty dirt" in Japan these days. There is far to much of this perversion going on. I always think it sad to see the numerous signs n public places which warn people to "Beware of Chikan/pervs." A sad relfection on the state of Japanese society. In my countrym there is no need for such signs . .the ordinary people or the police deal effectlively with such people, usually.

Japanese society . . crumbling before our eyes every day. A land where child porn is in abundance, where salarymen get off on buying high school girls
knickers, where salarimen openly read pornographic manga on trains, where groping is commonplace n trains, where men regularly are arrested for stealing womens underwear . . .yes, amazing place, this.Posted in: 27-yr-old police sergeant arrested for having sex with 14-yr-old girl

Kabuki cho is yakuza controlled. No sane person goes anywhere near the place. What a sad story - and shameful, too. Social Services, as understood in the rest of the civilised world, are non-existant in this neck of the woods, and this sad story proves it.
