I think Wikipedia is amazing. Yes it has its downsides but overall it is a cornucopia of information and fascinating trivia. Most of what I read has been quite accurate as compared to other sources of information.

Whoever voted no is being hypocritical. I don't see how any person can want to stay for a considerable length of time in a foreign country and not have even the most basic common courtesy to attempt to learn the language and learn to speak and write it. That is…

Well, considering that the majority of males in Japan are of Japanese ethnicity, I think it's relatively hard to date "foreign" men. But I'd like to read or hear of anecdotes from REAL foreign women here. Besides, why not date Japanese males, that's what foreign males do when they live…

Funny how people seem to throw labels such as left wing, right wing, liberal, conservative, etc. etc. automatically. Just because one is against this isanity doesn't make one a liberal or a conservative, enlightened people of all ages feel the same way. A common tactic for the ultra pro war…

Only in Japan huh. Funny, in my country there are over 1 million homeless children, and over 40% of the homeless population are families, poverty don't discriminate on nationality or anything else for that matter. I think this is a great idea for a TV drama, should highlight the universal…

Scary, all it takes is one fickle individual and group. Let's see how long this "deal" lasts, probably as long as the other "deals." If history has taught us anything, these guys are not to be trusted for any meaningful length of time.

Very interesting developments in light of recent events. Apprarently much of the military doctrine during the 70's and 80's (and before too) was concentrated on the eastern bloc communist threat. This meant a presence in Europe with military bases and manuevers and training dedicated to this potential threat. With the…
