Mr. Jamaat is not exactly right, U.S. Special Forces did not particularly fail in Iraq and Afghanistan. They were in fact doing spectacularly during the initial months post 9/11 when they and their alliances pushed the Taliban into hiding. Likewise, they did exceptional during the initial phases of OIF in places like Kirkuk. However, the Bush administration's horrid and absolutely wretched post occupation "plans" destroyed all of the SF's hard work. As a result, SF soldiers were being used in Iraq for a lot of the 'kicking down doors' direct action warfare in the never ending hunt for insurgent leaders and members, supposedly part of some evil al qaeda of iraq boogeyman enterprise. No doubt SF soldiers are some of the finest fighting units in the world, and they are a deadly fighting force, but their main objective is to train foreign fighting units. So thanks to the Bush administration's screw ups the SF soldiers were being overburdened with stuff conventional infantry units could have been doing.

Hardly a unique situation to Japan, but as per usual the "Japan is xenophobic/racist" mantra is conveniently raised. Now how is the simple fact that temporary workers in Japan being let go is considered "racist" when in this horrid global economic world, Spain is PAYING its unemployed immigrant work force to leave the country, and millions of workers in other industrialized countries have no work.
Double standards as always.

In 4 years she could very well be 'washed up' as haytkayokomiya hints at. Sadly, she might very well end up milking her 15 minutes by doing JAV (Jp adult films).

very sad and tragic. while normally I would reserve much venom for this woman not watching enough over her daughter what good would it do. She's in enough pain as it is.
Rest in peace.

Indeed so much hate. I have now come to the sad realization that this site is filled with people who love to hate, period, whether a country, nationality, or plain nice joes like Mr. Jacobsen, who has done nothing but bring joy to other cultures. I know he will read this so he can rest assured that these bitter souls do not speak for the majority of the people who are genuinely interested in Japanese culture and news who come to JT. I commend him for doing what he does and being very good at it, and teaching kids in a fun and enlightening way. Great for him.
