This is exactly what I was referring to in previous posts. Fuld feels "horrible" about what happened? His arrogance and actions (and inactions) resulted in the collapse of a legendary financial institution and destroyed the lives of so many. And for this he was compensated handsomely.
Notice how he does not apologize one bit for his hubris? He is laughing all the way to the bank while his victims have no jobs, lost their savings, etc. etc.
And then people question whether execs/CEO's committing suicide is an honorable thing to do?

What an appropriate thread. The basic anonymity of the internet allows those frustrated, sick, and unhappy souls to vent out their inadequacies online. It gives them a sense of superiority that they would never achieve in real life.

This is the correct thing to do. Obviously as this melanine scare has spread throughout the globe, it simply cannot be blamed on extremist actions on the part of Japanese officials. It has nothing to do with bribery or payoffs either. If that were the case then all countries affected like South Korea and the United States are as guilty. But common sense dictates that no one knew about this melanine stunt, what country's officials would dream that Chinese made products could kill and hurt you.

Geez, yet another bear attack. If it's not stabbings or suicides, it's darned bear attacks.

I can't believe Yoshinoya's even been in business this long. The "meat" they use is worse grade than that served in many penal institutions, more gristle and fat than actual meat. It's more like gristle and sauce over rice.

Hey, why not, a good looking celebrity always attracts attention right? Hardly unique to Japan, celebrities are an automatic choice to attract attention to important issues and causes. But the poster is odd, the girl does not look like Aya at all.

This "artist" is disgusting, what sane adult thinks it appropriate to go wandering around a school looking for kids to photograph and nude kid shots? Creepy and nasty.

Thank you for this wonderful guide. It takes the guesswork of trying to figure out how to tour Tokyo out of all the advice and guidebooks and websites out there.

I don't like this trend of Japanese (not to mention other countries) females trend of dressing skimpier and sexier. Whatever happened to dressing with class, dressing sexy doesn't have to be "dressing" in tops that expose your belly and that nasty tattoo right above your rear end, and skirts that barely cover mid thighs. And it seems like younger and younger girls are being "encouraged" to dress skimpy. It is really a sick trend. I don't have anything against adult females in certain situations dressing in sexy or revealing clothing (such as promotions of events, modeling swimsuit, sporting events, etc.) but can we please bring back some class and dignity?

I voted other, the overpriced tickets to fly overseas in cattle class, especially to asia. Even for a small sized person it is so cramped and uncomfortable blood clots form in the legs.

What the heck. What normal average 7 year old goes around trespassing, kills innocent animals, and feeds them and other live animals to crocs? Where were the parents of this monster? Hello?

Unbelievable. "Alleged" militants? Wouldn't be surprised to see reports tomorrow that, whoops, it was actually 12 civilians. So sorry.
Who is in charge of this mess? Do they not read the headlines, do they not understand that lobbing missile after missile after missile is counter productive? Are they really that ignorant to engage in military actions that only create more insurgents?

Considering the amount of Americans that visit JT, I find it curious that anyone would have an issue with this most important of issues on a Japan related website (since it is catered more towards foreigners interested in Japan).
At any rate Biden looked the best, and no one even republicans or anyone who will vote for Palin can deny. While both tended to stretch the truth on some issues, Biden was clearly in charge, knew the issues and stats, and spoke with a measure of authority. Unlike Palin who spoke mostly in generalities, spoke in less professional demeanor, and appeared to skirt many issues. Many times she answered the question (after being prompted by the moderator) with simple yesses and nos, unable to elaborate further on several key issues.
In particular, in one of the most important issues for voters as well as being the highlight of the debate, Iraq, Biden was supremely masterful in dictating the insane policies of the current administration and McCain's "strategies." Palin was unable to come up with anything more than the usual pro war mantra, something about a white flag of surrender.
I think it speaks volumes when the most favorable thing the blind Palin supporters can say about her performance was that she didn't blunder outright. Clearly lowering of standards.
Palin is not someone that I would feel confident at all about being President, and that is a reality with McCain in office should he become President.
Biden was the clear winner.

The only thing that 'impressed' me about Palin was she did not make any obvious dumb blundering statements. But at times she did not fully answer the question from the moderator or Biden's challenges. And after a while listening to Palin's voice really got annoying, she simply does not have that debating experience and instinct like Biden does. It seems like she was saying the same words and phrases and expressions and tones all throughout.
Biden wins this by a landslide, knowledgable on the issues.
