Bush is the last person who should be "assuring" any world leaders over anything.

I read this article a few days ago, amazing and very moving. So few Japanese veterans left from this most horrible of conflicts.

While I would agree with you Ossan, a leader of such a prominent nation as Japan should do the right thing in at least acknowledging what his families' company did in the past. Because it's the right thing to do, and to deny or ignore it is impractical considering the extreme baggage it is and the potential problems it will cause your immediate neighbors. It really is not that hard of a thing to do. PM Koizumi did some pretty amazing things in terms of expressing apologies for what Japan did during WW2, the last thing we need is someone to take things back.

Now I know there will be screams of how "ignorant" these people are, but let's face it they as citizens have every right to protest regardless of how real or not real their fears are. In light of recent allegations of nuclear leaks and crimes by military there, it makes common sense that some may be apprehensive. Or is it simply a case of this being Japan, and you know the rest.

Whoops.
No end in sight on the "war on terror," even can't get the program straight in Pakistan.

Aso is a bloody disgrace. His families' mining company during WW2 used and abused POW labor for profit. To this day it has not been acknowledged as such. This right winger will for sure do something to anger many asian nations and others. Bad, bad choice.

There's no way American military can fight in Iran. The public alone will have none of this nonsense, not after the debacle in Iraq (and soon Afghanistan if things don't shape up).
Iran can call anyone's bluff now.
Thanks George.

Right on cue:
U.S. President George W Bush sent condolences to the families of those “lost in today’s vicious attack,” said Gordon Johndroe, a spokesman for the National Security Council at the White House.
“This is a reminder of the threat we all face. The United States will stand with Pakistan’s democratically elected government as they confront this challenge.”
Truly, no end in sight.

O.K., for the last time people, what is "super" about her is her height, according to pathat she is almost 5 feet 11 inches tall, with heels over 6 feet tall. She has the height and probably proportions to be able to model on the catwalk. Those kinds of models aren't necessarily chosen for their looks, particularly asian/jp catwalk models. Being able to wear clothes well on the runway, at least to the standards of the industry, is more important than facial beauty.
I agree she ain't no hottie in the looks department.

The mother left her for a few minutes? Sorry to rain on her parade but come on, anything can happen, even in Japan nowadays. And 6 year olds have cell phones nowadays?
Any rate, rest in peace to this unfortunate boy, and hopefully they catch and execute the killer.

The reason why she is a 'supermodel' is probably because she's like six feet tall and does runway stuff. Though the term supermodel has been used for hotties like you see on sports illustrated swimsuit edition, don't necessarily think it means an asian/jp supermodel is chosen based on facial features as the deciding factor. Overall body structure and movements is more important than looks, hence she won't be endorsing beauty products like other prettier Jp celebrity starlets.

Stunning, but not surprising. Hopefully those who mock others for being "xenophobic" or "ignorant" over being rightfully scared of the possibility of tainted products from China will now see the light.
