Absolutely. It raises the standard of living and education/training of these foreign nurses, which can only better the families of those back home. It also alleviates any labor shortage in Japan for nurses.

A win win situation for all involved, naysayers regardless.

Whoa, you will never see me being so vulnerable like that in public, you never know what strangers will do.

As always, already first post as I suspected would bring in total non issue of Nanking and other issues. This is solely about Hiroshima, nothing more and nothing less. The people and Mayor of Hiroshima have every right to remember and memorialize this. No one at the ceremony said anything about whitewashing Japanese history, etc. etc. The people who died and suffered at Hiroshima is completely different from other incidents of WW2. They have every right to remember as does other citizens of other nations to commemorate their own.

So please show some respect people.

Ping12, have you ever read People magazine? Or any news media outlet in other countries? It is normal for them to reveal a person's age, hardly unique to Japan. Anyways, I LOVED this movie, it was funny and touching at the same time. Definitely a great date movie, highly recommended.

Umm, USAPatriot, Bush is the last "leader" in the world that should be going around spreading "peace and freedom." He doesn't exactly have shining credentials in that area. Besides, how about criticizing the rough way these protestors were treated?

I would say not. Japan is only a part of the geopolitical West when it suits the West for their own agendas, like war on terror or whatever. Everything else the West leaves Japan to fend for itself, i.e. territorial disputes, etc.

Who knows, maybe it'll prevent those drivers (usually older) who cause their vehicles to launch forward and kill/maim people because they accidentally floor the gas pedal, thinking it's the brakes.

Something is wrong with world society. Mock me all you want but the fact that disgusting crimes like these are committed in different countries thousands and thousands of miles apart says something about our global world.

Nice story, another example (out of countless others) of Japanese citizen's generosity and help towards those less fortunate in this world. Great for them and others in other countries doing the same.

Jack Nicholson's performance was magnificent. So was Heath Ledger's. Heath's Joker was a bit more edgy and ruthless, some scenes with him were very chilling and intense. Sad we won't be seeing more of him, a fitting tribute to Heath for his last performance.

What a sick dude. I wonder where the 'blame' should be placed here, on society? Something must have made him psycho.

Whoops, so much for those screaming about Japan's concerns about all things radioactive huh? Better make sure those subs and ships are all functioning properly, and manned by competent sailors, before casting judgement on legitimate concerns from Japanese citizens.

Uh-oh, latest report identifies the attacker, a 40 year old male apparently ethnic Chinese (don't know if immigrant or native Canadian). At any rate hopefully this won't ifluence the hate mongers.

Zen are you talking about the victim in this specific case? The guy who committed this crime is around 40 years old or so.

There's a part of me that thinks weird people like these killers, maybe a small part of their psyche, crave media attention. I'm not saying that was the primary motivator, but why would a guy out of nowhere not only stab, but mutilate and do outrageous things to a corpse on a very public arena? He didn't even off himself, now the world media will descend on this place and creep. Soon his face will be all over the world media.

This proves that in high stress situations it is normal human behavior to want to escape such horror. I cannot believe how many people on other sites have wondered why no one tried to help the stabbing victim (much like some here who wonder why no one does anything when victims are stabbed on subway and the like). Not only is someone on a crowded getting stabbed highly unexpected it probably happen so fast by time people were aware what was going on he was already dead. I do not blame any of these people for wanting to get off bus as fast as they can.

Way to go prosecutors and experts, because this creep didn't have a 'significant history' (what the heck does that mean, so there's a history of insignificant violence, ridiculous) of violence, parole is possible. Which means most likely. So according to this creep she killed herself by jumping out of his truck? Yup, I sure believe that one. He should be fried.
