What the heck? Now what lunatic starts shooting at kids trick or treating? Even the most fanatic pro gun lobby cannot find any sort of excuse to cover this one.

Helter Skelter's link is over a year old when Obama and Hillary (and other Dems) were going at each other's throats. Even considering his statement it says nothing about indiscriminate bombing campaigns left and right. Even back then Obama stressed the importance of reliable intelligence, not hearsay from some unreliable source that leads to civilian deaths.

Well if this doesn't prove that the current administration's doing all dirty work it can while still in office, then nothing does. Funny how one day some cheer this as great news on the war on terror, etc. etc. etc. Then next day, when innocent civilians are killed in these insane non stop bombing campaign, the same people casually brush it off, collateral damage, blah blah.
Is it any wonder the war in that area of the region is stymied and digressing?

It is beyond excusable, it should be severely punished. It ruins innocent people's lives, and only unfairly furthers the stereotypes about train gropers in Japan.

I agree with Ossan, all this time they been fiddling around and grabbing arse, and now they see fit to act all mighty and want the U.S. troops gone by 2011? Ya, real motivation there fellas. All this time U.S. and coalition lives were sacrificed and now they act all mighty and superior.

Oh boy, let's see the furor here over the fact that signs are also in English, and the sad fact that "westerners" were in fact responsible for many of these questionable incidents. Fact is, parties on trains are definitely not a Japanese phenomenon. Not saying Jp people don't have their share of weird drunken freaks but definitely nothing along the lines of wild house parties on trains/train stations, so this is hardly xenophobic.

Well don't forget, one of the deadliest terrorist attacks on U.S. soil was committed not by Middle Easterners, but a homegrown extremist with ties to white supremacist organizations. Again, I have been mocked for predicting these very lunatics would come out of the woodwork to threaten Obama. Very scary and very unfortunate, but very fortunate they caught these guys. Even the secret service must have their hands full with nutters in the U.S. threatening everyone in sight.

I don't particularly understand what eresay is trying to state here. Exactly how is Miss Hiroko trying to imitate another race and stop looking like something she is not, even basing such a false statement on this one photo alone?
Is it her hairstyle? Hardly a unique hair style to any particular geographical area or racial group, and I certainly don't see it dyed any differently. Is it her clothing? Ditto.
The fact is the Hiroko you see here and in other pictures is herself as she is naturally. In fact, Hiroko does look "exotic" in terms of her skin color and features, and looks more Southeast asian than Japanese. I believe this is what hurt her in this year's Miss Universe pageant as she does not "fit" the mold. But her physical features is what she was born with, and if she truly was "not trying to be Japanese," don't you think she would lighten her skin or do those other types of true self hating things? Nothing about her gives me the impression that she "hates" her self or what she is.
Weird comments sometimes.

I have seen much better walking along a busy shibuya intersection. Of course I am such a stud that I can judge and nitpick who looks good and who doesn't, if they don't fit my high standards too bad.

I already voted for Obama. It's not about hope at this point. McCain's presidency will go down as one of the worst and most ill fated attempts ever. From his disastrous choice of Palin all the way to this poor showings in the debate, McCain has symbolized everything that is wrong with America's current leadership, tired, old, and the laughingstock of the world.
America and the world, get ready for one of the most historic moments in all of America's storied history, the day Americans finally voted in an African American president.
