Very Crowded. over here in the states, we're having thunderstorms, tornados and snow within 24 hours. Not great way to start the New Years, but it's still fun to be there.

How beautiful. How trusting they are, to each other and the surrounding enviroment. Great way to end one year and start another. I wonder, is the next year the year of the deer? just a thought.
Moderator: 2011 is the year of the rabbit.

ah, those were the days. being carefree, and looking at the world with eyes of innocence. (sp??). I thought most school children had to wear school uniforms? Over here in the states, they're talking about going back to wearing uniforms. must be progress. Merry Christmas to all of you. Hope you all have healthy and wonderful New Year.

I often wondered how the Sumo wrestlers survived. Sumo wrestling, I thought, was a Japanese National heritage. It should be.

this has to have been the most wasteful example of politics gone wrong. stupid! Of course there have been people serving in the military whose sexual preference is not within the "Normal" ( whatever that is) bounds. and "Gays" have served throughout the centuries and we didn't know it. Why not ask the service people on the line what matters most to them?

To us Godzilla fans, this is an interesting guild. I too wondered where all the beautiful scenes were shot. Now I can find them. I saw Godzilla when it was a first run here in the States. That movie certainly has influenced many people into pursuing careers in Paleontology. and, of course, to a 5 year old, it was the best fun around.

Ok, here's my two cents. The women finally feel liberated enough to express their womanhood. Even in public. I think it's nice to see people celebrating themselves!

Oh that is so beautiful! I wish I could visit Japan during all the Holidays. Over here we just had Santa Claus ride through town in a sled which was mounted on a flatbed truck. ah, to be a kid again.

I just watched "Harry Potter and the Sorcerers stone". I forgot ( besides how to spell. LOL) how entertaining the Potter films can be. They leave me with a happy feeling. Not many movies ( outside of anime that is) can still get me to feel like a kid again. I wish them all well and much success with their lives.

Cool. Is Godzilla really going to show up in this picture tomorrow? Cool. I knew the big guy would be back.

it all depends on the person, not nescessary the country. There are good people who will surprize you in helping you out, and then, the idiots who do not even see you need a hand.

while Newspapers are still my favorite source of news, the internet has taken on a more important role for me. Every morning, I check the news from Japan, Thailand, Finland, Korea, Russia and others. It's great to be able to get a different slant on the news than just one source. It can be telling also. ( i.e. what news is omitted takes on a different meaning when it's left out)

Thank you JAPAN, for sticking to your laws and not wavering because a "Star" wanted to just wander into your country. I want to visit your country more now than I ever did. What a wonderful bunch of people you are to have elected officials pass these imimigration laws.

I find it strange to find this kind of senseless Obama bashing printed in Japan. As an American, this article serves nothing more than to spread mis-information and distoring what really is going on over here. We're trying to stop the slide, and it's tough. But the Japanese people know that all to well.

In war, terrible atrosities happen. They happen by good people. War changes everybodys nature. they do things they wouldn't even speak about. this blaming who did what is useless. To truly understand why America did use the atomic bombs, just think about the Japanese Hot heads in the military. If my understanding is right, the military wasn't ready to stop fighting after the 2nd atomic bomb was dropped.

I think its kind of nice they're willing to stand up and be open about what is usually kept hiden. I think it says a lot about how they trust there fellow Japanese citizens to be this open.
