Or, through the ineptitude of military doctors (I know, that just doesn't happen...), they decided, in their infinite wisdom, that there was nothing wrong, and wouldn't give him the referral. I don't mean to sound like I don't believe what anyone has to say, I just like to look at all the facts and kind of play the devil's advocate.

Really, adaydream? Are you sure about that? I'm actuve duty, and I know for sure that they don't kick you out for seeking psychiatric care. I do, however, know that there are many individuals around me that get care, and don't get kicked out. What it sounds like, without trying to be condenscending (sp), is that he is told by people who don't know what they are talking about, crap that is told to them by others who have no idea what is going on, things that they have heard through the "friend of a friend" about these things. I hear it everyday, if it isn't about this, it's just other assorted misinformation. I'm not saying they would have done it intentionally, but it does happen. It's called rumors and gossip.

williamsmith, yes, I do believe we would still have it. There are now, and will always be, people whose drive in life is not to have things, but to have control. They don't care that they can do it legally. They care about making money off of someone else doing the work. To think otherwise is naive, and ridiculous. On your next point, it may be the oldest profession. What's your point? Always happened doesn't make it right. People have always been killing each other, always happened, always will. Is it right? So far from you, all I hear is that you support, and see nothing wrong with young girls being paid by older men to get what they have. Where's your daughter? Like smith said, I doubt you would be happy if say, I paid your 14 y/o daughter if you had one for a couple hours of what comes naturally, would you?

I am kind of tired of hearing the same old misogynistic rants here. Little girls don't need to be hooking. The ones sticking up for it are probably the same ones who would partake in the activity...

I don't think the word itself would be quite so racist if the tone and inflection of "you're just a gaijin" wasn't there. I'm not an idiot (well, I don't consider myself one) and I can tell when someone is using the term as in just describing a foreign born person who doesn't look Japanese, or as a derogatory term as in looking down on me for where I'm from. And no, adding san or sama doesn't make it any better. If anything it makes it more insulting, if that makes any sense.

Zen, if you are smart, yes, you will check it. That's the problem with society. No one wants to take personal responsibility. They just want to be able to say, it wasn't my fault, so and so told me it was okay. By the way, which countries are those? I haven't seen one. Then again, taking responsibility for the things I do isn't real difficult for me.

Zen, are you completely naive? If you take a girl home from a club that has a rule of no one under the 18 in the club, and you take a girl home that is underage, you get busted. Ignorance is not an excuse. The police will tell you the same thing as they are slapping the bracelets on you.

You know what Rjd, you're right. It isn't all Japanese that are saying this. What I am upset about, is that she is throwing around all these BS numbers as if they are fact. 80% PTSD rate? 1 in 3 women will be raped? Come on man. These guys come up with some crap numbers and neither she, nor JT lift a finger to actually try to put the truth out. So that is what I'm upset about. I like this website because it does put out some good and interesting reading, but I have noticed that they tend to be one sided quite often. Can you dispute this?

Yeah Zen, and back in the day beating your wife was looked at as "keeping them in line". What's your point? My point is that society evolves and moves forward, not look back at what we used to be able to do.

Come on, if she wanted to say the Iraq war was such a ploy to get more whatever, just come out and say it. Don't beat around the bush (pun intended). And the last few? Enlighten me. Which last few were? I can only think of one, led by a "special" leader...

It never ceases to amaze me when killers blame everything on their horrible childhoods. A man named Dave Pelzer went through worse. He made something of himself in spite of what happened to him. This guys just a murderous S.O.B. and deserves what he gets.

That's right, arrest the girls, and let the old men go. Seems like the right thing to do. That's sarcasm, by the way. The teens definately need this on their permanent record. The oyaji's will get it on theirs, so should the girls.

On a side note, what business do any Japanese have critisizing suicide, of all things, in our military? Don't they have a higher rate?

Wow Japan. Pot, meet kettle. Last I checked, American led wars were not there, unlike the Japanese invasions and occupations, with the sole purpose of rape and pillage and the gaining of more land. And where did they get their statistics? The mothers of America? This has to be one of the most one sided articles I have ever seen. I am glad that she retired from the service. On a side note, if you were against the Iraq war, why would you want to quit being a diplomat? Aren't they supposed to help governments get along through dialogue and understanding? Oh wait. She most likely was one of those who was told she had to serve as a diplomat in Iraq and quit. Either way, she needs to get her facts straight before spewing more of this anti-US, anti-military garbage. For someone who is so against what we are and what we do, I'll bet she sure appreciates that retirement check...

WMD, damn, wish I had a wife like yours. Looking back on it, once we were married, the sex started becoming less and less, and now, I'm just pissed. If it wasn't for my daughter, I may have bailed already. If she was american, I possibly would've anyways, but here, if we divorce, well, I can kiss my little girl goodbye.
