For all of you who say these cars aren't suited to the roads in Japan, you must be a little kooky. Have you actually seen the mountain roads outside of major cities? Down in Yamaguchi ken and Hiroshima ken there are many, many miles of twisty mountain roads, with close to new blacktop. They even straighten out once in a while.
rjdsr: to buy a car like this isn't about an investment. If someone wants to invest, get into stocks or whatever. Most people buy Ferrari's because they think they are beautiful cars and they are fun to drive. Why should every major purchase be made with the future value in mind, and not just the enjoyment of it?
coligny: no, dreams of owning a Ferrari doesn't keep me alive. Being happy with my life does. However, is there any reason why anyone can say that I can't want something because I think it is a piece of art, not to mention fun to drive?

No, that isn't the pot calling the kettle black. And I'll use small words to explain it to you. Our gov't botched (messed up) in the aftermath of Katrina, through incompitence (they were inept, or, in simple words, morons). Myanmar's gov't, on the other hand, is actively refusing to accept aid from the US, one of the countries in this world who could do the most good for the people of that country. They are ACTIVELY REFUSING AID BECAUSE THEY SAY THEY DON'T "TRUST" US. Is that a good reason to let possible 100's of thousands of people die? You tell me, is that something a human being would do to 1 other human, let alone thousands?

And to you grouchygaijin, Bush isn't doing this to the people of that country, despite what you would like to think. It is their own leaders that are seemingly, almost purposefully, killing their own people. And for what, I might ask?

Again, if the leaders of Myanmar, or Burma, or whatever they wish to call themselves now, refuse to accept assistance from one of the superpowers in the world simply because they don't like the president, that speaks volumes for the "leaders" of that country.

This isn't just about the U.S. How many other countries aid experts and supplies have been denied by a gov't that would rather see it's people die by the thousands than to take a simple gesture of goodwill?

"A lot of Western woman make men starve for sex and use it as a manipulation and power tool and are often quite frigid. Asian woman however are rather uninhibited and very responsive to a night of mutual love and passion."
Guess I got screwed then. Got a Japanese wife, and, sorry, but I think I got the odd duck. Replace western woman for japanese in the first sentance and just disregard the second, and that's what I've found out. I think I may just have bad luck...

While I don't wish to really ever have his skill (I'm not even a fan of public speaking let alone public singing), I hope someday my skills in the Japanese language catch up to his. Fluent reading and writing and speaking? Yeah, that's gonna take a while...

sellout of what? someone doesn't go immediately for what the color of their skin insinuates they should and they are a sellout? It's funny, but it seems like when some people in this world get something nice, there is always someone there to pull them back down. So, you are not a geeky dude?

Again I ask, have you listened to him? There is NO crossing of hip/hop and enka. The only hip hop in his performance is his clothing. To each his own. I wouldn't wear it. I don't believe you've actually listened to him judging by your comments, but hey, it's your opinion (guess).

I personally am not a big fan of his music, although I would like to think that I can recognize a talented singer. But, talent is in the ear of the beholder, I guess.

Uh, smiffnwessum, have you actually listened to him? He is exceptionally talented at what he does and he doesn't pander to the tv stations like some of the other foreign talents who act like fools on tv, cough Bobby cough. He has musical talent and it will carry him far.
Moderator: Japan Today will feature an in-depth interview with Jero later this month. Look for it in the Entertainment/Arts section.

I meant:
"Sure, she would need a breath mint, I'd sure give her a run for which one of us needs one more, but most women who are attractive to me with makeup on, when seen without, are STILL attractive to me."
Maybe I'm just a weirdo like that...

Wow, some of you guys/girls seem to think that the standards of beauty that we should consider attractive are best defined for us, by you. Again "eye of the beholder". Maybe so many people are fawning all over these women because THEY think that they are attractive. thebottomline, maybe I would still find them attractive in the morning. Sure, she would need a breath mint, I'd sure give her a run for which one of us needs one more, but most women who are attractive to me with makeup on, when seen without, are attractive to me. It's not the "wow look at how hot I am", it's something a little more subtle.

Okay, so tell me why her personal finances are any of our concern? I could understand if she was suspected of some shady business, but not just because she is married to someone who is the president (hypotheically speaking of course). Now, if they were married and filed jointly, then possibly. But I mean, come one, she was richer that all get out before she was even married to him. I don't think anyone without being charged or suspected of a crime should have to just hand out that information.

She shouldn't have to release that information because it is no one's business but hers and her husbands. And as for the other wives doing it, it goes back to if your friends jumped off a bridge, would you?

Locking up a gun isn't a safety patrol, it's not thinking that your child is perfect. It's just stupid and to say otherwise is ridiculous to leave something like that where kids can get at it so easily. So, you're saying that they need all the information out there so that they can make the most informed decisions possible? Yeah, well, tell ya what, until I feel they are old enough to handle the information, I will explain and teach them about it. Not just throw it all at them as soon as they can read. That's our job as parents, to shield them to some degree from the world and teach them about it. I don't want the shoddy reporting from JT to do it for me. You know what, I'm done with you. It's like arguing with a Vegan about how the human is actually meant to eat meat... futile.

Or, option 2, he left the Navy because like thousands of others, he didn't want to make a career out of it. However, I can see what you are saying. I think it could have went either way. If he were to fight it, he would most likely be in debt for it for a good portion of his life even if he is found to be not guilty. Me personally, I don't know if I would've fought it. Even if found not liable (or whatever it is in civil court) you're still out of the military. In the end, not worth it (to me anyways).

Did Brooke Shields kill her kid? Did the thousands of other mothers that have post partem kill their children? The overwhelming majority did not. I am not for the death penalty in this case BECAUSE OF THE OTHER FACTORS INVOLVED! However, she doesn't deserve to have her freedom. Lock her up in a psychiatric hospital for all I care and ensure that she never has a child again. That is not too much to ask. I sincerely don't believe in saying oh, it was post partum, well off you go. I feel so sorry for you. She took a life. Not in self defense or in the defense of others, but because she had a problem that she didn't want or know how to deal with. Her husband may also share the blame. But, I do know that it is tough with Japanese women to know how they feel because even more so than western women, they won't tell you or give you any hints. However, that is no excuse for what she did. If a woman (she doesn't deserve to be called a mother) kills her child in America and blames it on post partum, she still gets locked up. End of story. You bleeding hearts are a big part of what is wrong with society...

Okay, so it may have been post partum. So now she can have post partum in a 6x7 ft cell... (or however big they are) And you know what, in other countries if a woman claimed post partum, they would still probably go to prison. God help them if they go to an American prison after killing a child.
