LFR, open your eyes. There is no defending your reputation. All it takes is one woman to say you raped her, and it's destroyed. Nothing he does from this point forward will ever erase her accusal. I wouldn't spend tens of thousands of dollars to defend myself knowing that the only thing that would happen is that I have backed up what I already knew (when I say I, that means what I would do if I were in his position, not that I AM him.) Aside from that, it was civil court in Japan! Why even bother with it? And it's not about the poor, poor military. It's about the unforunate US military MEMBER who may not have committed a crime, and yet, has his career and life they know taken away from them because someone has issue with them.

Hmm, strangle my kid, isn't my fault, nope. Sorry, that defense gets you life in prison instead of the noose in my book. It's not my fault I have ADD, it's not my fault, the kids were mean to me, and on and on and on. No one takes responsibility for what they do. It's always someone elses fault (well, not always, but the instances are increasing. When are people like blvtzpk will always want to blame it on something else. Never the person who did it. These are the reasons that society is headed in the direction that it is going today.

Yes YOU!!! There are always going to be some kids who are smart enough to handle it even though your parents weren't bright enough to lock them up anyways. Why would you leave guns unlocked in a house with kids? What is the purpose? Kids will be kids, regardless of how well educated they are. That's why they are called kids. They (on the average) are still VERY prone to this thing called peer pressure.
You know what, that information doesn't NEED to be put out there. It's not out of fear that they are keeping the info out of the public as much as possible. It's called common sense, which is something that some parents lack and therefore can't instill upon their children. Again, just because we can publish whatever we want, doesn't mean that we don't have some responsibility in saying hey, we really shouldn't put this out there. There is no reason for it.

And yet, many here are all against the baby hatch idea, which is still a better option than face down in the river.

"No. Irresponsible journalism is when you don't report something because you think that people are too immature to handle adult information. Are we a society of six-year-olds?
I, for one, am insulted by the conduct of most media outlets in assuming I cannot analyze objective fact for myself."
Yes, irresponsible journalism is when they put the how to and a step by step method for suicide when saying that people are mixing bathroom chemicals, or just household chemicals to make whatever gas is used to kill themselve. Common sense, assuming you didn't check that at the door when you got on the 1st amendment we need all the information ride, tells you that you don't need to know all the chemicals, and methods to make this gas in order to know what the story is about. I suggest if you feel "insulted" by people asking for responsibility, you go google the method for yourself. It's not about whether YOU can handle it or not, it's a matter of this is a highly read news site where kids or whomever can access it. We all know that kids don't always make the best choices. It's like saying hey, I don't need to lock up this gun, my kids are mature enough to know better than to play with it...

What is it with the whole world going touchy feely politically correct? Okay, so if someone murders someone else, is convicted of murder in the 1st degree, we (tax payers) should just support them for the rest of, what I'm sure will be long, lives because it is morally reprehensible to execute them? I don't personally (although you may disagree, and that's fine. We are entitled to our opinions) believe that the Death Penalty is a deterrent to violent crime. I think it is merely a consequence. You plan to kill a person then do it, we take you out of society. Period. And locking up an innocent person for the rest of their natural lives is so much better? How? No system is perfect. Even if we do away with the death penalty, we'll still have the same bleeding hearts (you) whining about how cruel and unjust life imprisonment is. Again, no system is perfect. Just try to make it as close to perfect as possible.

The ones in so cal and Japan use very different quality of meats. Although, the ones in Japan do use a lower quality of beef than say, Ishigaki beef, it is still much better than California's Yoshinoya's.

For a country that is so far ahead of most other countries in the form of electronics, why is it that all of their weather is done with cardboard cutouts and a stupid finger pointer, or, some highly attractive halfwit pointing like she knows what's going on? I do like America's weather with their computer animations. That, and Chrissi Russo on Fox in San Diego!

I'm not saying that he shouldn't have studied there. What I am saying is that he had a history of mental problems that BY LAW PRECLUDED HIM FROM OWNING A GUN! The ones who sold them to him didn't care to do their jobs and enforce the law. I don't care where he studies. That's his right.
As for those who want a complete ban, go live somewhere else. Don't you dare tell me what I can, and cannot do. You want to have a gun free society, go live in Japan (assuming you're not already here), or most any other Asian country that outlaws firearms. If you don't like that America allows people to LEGALLY own guns, stay out of my country. Just don't push YOUR beliefs on the rest of us law abiding folk.

He wouldn't have had the guns if someone was doing there job. Didn't he have some well documented mental problems that were labelled as possibly violent? He was a nut, no one care, look what happened. I myself would like to own a gun. I enjoy going to the range and shooting. It is very relaxing to go to a range, put a paper (or can, or bottle, or other in animate object) and just shoot it. I would like having one in the house knowing that if someone were to break into my house (which happens every country, every day) I would have the means to protect my family with something other than my bare hands. So you know what? Those of you who are anti-gun for whatever reason, I hope no one is counting on you to defend them should the need arise, because they will be sorely disappointed.

So, many of you are against "harsh" techniques as far as interrogations are concerned. These "people" don't just crack and tell us what their plans for killing us are if we do something like, oh I don't know, threaten to throw them in prison. "Would you mind very much, Mr Extremist, telling me what you plan on doing to us infidels? And when? And how? No, then we're gonna throw you in prison where your spiritual rights are protected and you can live a long life on the taxpayers dime." Or, we can get the info from them. This touchy feely stuff doesn't work on these people who have devoted their entire being to killing, maiming, and wiping out every last non-muslim in the world so they can force that crap on everyone around them. Some of you need to wake up.

So, that gives the second car the right to hit him, and drive away without stopping? Regardless of what is legal or illegal, it is your responsibility to stop to render the appropriate assistance.

No, greenteaonsens, those of us who think she's cute happen to very obviously have different tastes than you when it comes to women, assuming you even have an interest in them. I don't know. Why is it when someone likes a woman, who is asian, and YOU (not you personally, but people in general) don't, they automatically have yellow fever. If I only liked american women, would that mean I have some sort of fever? Or mexicans, would I have the brown fever? You, and those like you, need to grow up and understand that not everyone likes the same things as you. I would think your parents or someone at least would have taught you that.
As far as her reading the weather, yeah, I'd say not qualified. But in the J-media, who is? So I guess that means that she is, in fact, qualified.
