if he'll leave his wife for you, he'll leave you for someone else.

Cleo, I tend to agree with this argument. However I feel too often people are accused of 'stealing' somebody's wife or husband when in fact that marriage was in trouble and would haved ended anyway. In an ideal world, we would finish a relationship before starting another one. In the real world, relationships often overlap.

Likeitis, the link you included doesn't mention that the iranian police has broken into houses where gay men were known to congregate and accuse some of them of rape, despite the fact that all the men present were willing participants. Then these will be included in the statistics as rapists when their only crime was to have taken part in an orgy in a private place.

The number of gay men who have been executed since the extremists took power in 1979 isn't known, but some sources talk about several thousands: http://www.glapn.org/sodomylaws/world/iran/iran.htm

This is a BBC documentary on the execution of a teenage girl (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ateqeh_Rajabi). A good insight into the sentences given for 'crimes against chastity' such as a girl being alone in a car with her male cousin(!). They also explain how the so-called 'moral police' and revolutionary guards abuse their powers and rape girls, knowing only too well they will not report the rapes. WARNING: parts of this documentary are disturbing.

    Quote below from Amnesty International:

"Since 1990, Iran has executed at least 37 juvenile offenders, eight of them in 2007 and at least six to date in 2008. No other country is known to have executed a juvenile offender in 2008. "

My vet is terrified of hamsters, apparently they are the animals that bite them the most LOL

Rats are much more sociable than hamsters and mice and are great pets for kids and adults alike. Just don't ever watch Willard.

Murder, rape, armed robbery, kidnapping and drug trafficking are all punishable with the death penalty under Iran’s Islamic penal law.

You can also add being a gay man or a woman who has committed 'sexual offences' (such as being a victim of rape!) to that list. And let's not forget that Iran hangs children too.

I used to watch Hippare religiously and have liked her ever since, I can't believe that was almost 10 years ago and she's only 23!

Very expensive tickets and you may not even see Yoshiki if he cancels at the last minute again.

I was walking home on a bitterly cold night when I came across a man collapsed on the road. His breath smelled of alcohol but for all I knew he could have been in a diabetic coma. I called an ambulance and they told me I did the right thing calling them. I didn't know what else to do as I couldn't leave him freezing to death. Maybe he was just drunk and that ambulance could have been put to better use - I'm not a doctor and I wasn't qualified to make that judgement.

It's not always easy to make the right decision. Symptoms of mild illnesses in babies can look very dramatic and frightening to new parents, many people panick at the sight of blood, etc... I agree malicious callers should be fined but could you fine people just because they don't know any better? Maybe the answer lies with the staff answering calls, with better training they could ask questions that would weed out the non-emergency cases?

As for hospital outpatient services, I would think the majority of people use them because there is no alternative available to them?

I've only seen her in one movie and one drama and her acting was good. She comes across quite well in interviews too. Definitely not your average 'talent'.

Connelly and Reeves both look elegant and understated. Connelly needs to stop having plastic surgery, whatever she's had done to her eyes, cheeks and nose is not an improvement!

My nipples are dark and very big. They show even through a T-shirt

Sorry to disappoint you, but they may still show through a bra. There are other things you can do to hide your nipples such as using pasties.

    not holding doors

    staring

    having very loud phone conversations

using earphones with open design so everyone else in the compartment is forced to listen to their music

not letting people off the train before trying to get in

refusing to move luggage and bags from the seat next to them when there are people standing

    spitting

People who are fit and healthy (usually salarymen) not giving their seats to pregnant women, the elderly, people on crutches or someone holding a baby. It takes all my self-restraint for me not to slap them. I've seen an old woman trying to give her seat to a heavily pregnant girl (who refused it) because no-one else would give her their seat.

Capitalism used to have a 'trickle-down' effect on society where eventually everyone would benefit from it.

Now due to globalization these days are gone. The super-rich are getting richer and everyone else is getting poorer.
We have witnessed unprecedented levels of greed, selfishness and lack of social conscience in the banking sector. There is a need for safeguards and government intervention to prevent this from happening in the future.

Keanu Reeves isn't "white" or "western". He is caucasian/asian mix and he lived in the middle east before moving to Canada.

This is equivalent to saying "are magazines really so bad?", "are movies really so bad?" etc... The number of manga titles coming out each year is huge and only a tiny percentage of that is perverted stuff. Unfortunately many westerners still have a negative image of manga.

Because the Japanese entertainment industry is tightly controlled by a small number of agencies who have a huge amount of power over the media. They can threaten to withdraw popular acts from TV shows and magazines if you refuse to promote their latest vacuous "talent".

I doubt anyone cares who has the best nails etc... but a lot of people watch wideshows so these celebrities and their sponsors get exposure through these meaningless awards.

    1. Start with a country with a population of different religious persuasions (including atheists).
    2. The extremist element of the muslim population grows rapidly and tries to impose their views on everyone else. So-called 'moderate muslims' do nothing to stop them.
    3. Civil war, violence and bloodshed ensue.
    4. The non-muslim population flee, are killed or convert to Islam.
    5. You now have a 100% muslim country. Time for Sharia law with stonings and hangings for 'crimes' such as being a gay man or a raped woman.
    6. Move on to the next country. The Religion of Peace, coming to a country near you sooner than you think.

Being a foreigner in Japan can act as a trigger. “Members of the foreign community are typically larger than the Japanese,” says Pike. When they come here, “they sometimes find they can’t buy clothes — going to a store only to find they are ‘too big.’”

I can understand that. Women who shopped all their lives in regular clothes stores suddenly have to go to a plus-size store. An american friend of mine was nearly starving herself to fit in 'normal' clothes in Japan. It sounds ridiculous but even though she wasn't overweight, she suddenly felt very fat around all the petite women. But things are changing, the Japanese themselves are getting taller and bigger. There are more choices now and the bigger sizes also have nicer and more fashionable designs.
