Poor baby. Results of autopsies on babies are more difficult to interpret than that of adults and older children. We may never know if he was stillborn or murdered. I assume he wasn't left to die in the locker, someone would have heard him crying.

There are girls and women all over the world, even well-educated professional women, who hide their pregnancies. Killing or hiding the baby is their way of pretending the pregnancy never happened. They have a different mindset from women who leave a baby on a doorstep or outside a church. They wouldn't use a baby hatch because that would mean acknowledging they were ever pregnant.

Having children is a lifestyle choice. More and more people, married or otherwise, are realizing that it isn't the right choice for them. Declining birth rates may be damaging to the economy of Japan (and many other countries) but globally this is a positive thing in a critically overpopulated world.

Single people can have a wide circle of friends and a busy and enjoyable social life. I'm sure there are some lonely ones too but this lady certainly isn't one of them. Achieving your own dreams and goals beats being treated like a domestic servant.

More than anything, I'm stunned that she left the child to die afterwards. Even if she was at her wits ends and lost her temper for a few moments, she should have come to her senses and called an ambulance right away. It's very sad for the two remaining children, they'll have to grow up with their mother in jail and with the knowledge she killed their sister.

I imagined she snapped because she couldn't cope alone with a three-year-old and one-year-old twins. Being a single mother with just one child is very hard. Can you imagine what it would be like alone with three small children 24/7? Even the most well-adjusted person would snap. Thankfully for the vast majority of people 'snapping' doesn't take the form of hitting or kicking a child. I want to make it clear I'm not defending her in any way. However maybe the children's father, her family and social services could have done something to help before this tragedy happened. I hope this will wake people up and everyone who knows children in this situation will offer some assistance before something like this happens.

It's quite ironic that this move comes at a time when several carriers are looking at ways to* improve* their economy class meal service. I avoid US carriers like the plague anyway. Their service and prices are consistently below that of Asian and European airlines.

Thanks EraiMaichin, I see they've amended the caption as well. He has the best look out of the bunch, pity they put Anne in that heinous design.

Chances of surviving a crash in water are very low. You will most likely land in cold or freezing water which can kill you very quickly. You can be saved if you're near an inhabited area with good access for emergency services. In that case both lifevests and flotation devices save lives. The 5 survivors of Air Florida flight 80 couldn't have managed to hang on in freezing water without them. In fact only one person drowned, the others were killed on impact. I would not fly with an airline that doesn't provide lifevests.

I don't know which is worse, BO or overpowering deodorants. There is a wide range of antiperspirants and deodorants that are effective and have no scent. I don't understand why some people insist of using the ones that smell like cheap perfume.

There is nothing more off-putting that someone with a sleeveless top and unshaved pits with bits of white deodorant sticking to the hairs. That goes for both men and women.

Plastic surgery is the natural progression of extreme consumerism and unbridled capitalism. It sells the illusion that being young and beautiful will make all your issues go away. It won't. Your happiness and self-esteem should come from things other than your looks or you will never be at ease with yourself.

Children's bodies may be maturing faster than ever due to plentiful food (and possibly hormones in the environment) but their minds certainly aren't. Girls who emulate the behaviour and clothing of females they see in the media often lack the emotional maturity to deal with the kind of attention they receive.

A 20-year-old who dresses or acts 'slutty' knows exactly what she's doing. A very young girl who dresses or acts this way does it because it's fashionable. She doesn't understand the image she projects.

As for people who suggest the girl 'agreed' to go on a drive, she didn't have the emotional maturity to agree to whatever happened next. She was a child, he was an adult trying to fulfill a sick fantasy.

Anyone who supports the death penalty should do a little research on how it has been used in Singapore.

Betzee and Triumvere, I made the incorrect assumption that the girls saw having a baby as a way to get their own home and money from the state. If they did it to ape celebrities or to make up from a lack of love and affection in their lives, they are in for a very rude awakening. Tending to the needs of a newborn 24/7 is mentally and physically draining, even when you're emotionally mature and have a partner to support you.

In the UK dropping a sprog is a career choice for some young women. It means they will never have to work and yet be financially better off than some people working 40 hours a week on minimum wage. Does the benefit system in the states work the same way? That could explain the girls decision. Either that or they aspire to the Jamie Lynn Spears lifestyle.
