Hey I scrub up alright after my weekly bath.
Kotooshu is cute. Women in their 40s and 50s really love him. But it would take more than cute and two consecutive outstanding tournaments at ozeki to make yokozuna, and it looks like this cutesy pie European (fawn over the West) can't even string two together anyway. Don't underestimate the power of cute in Japan and its effect on media slant. Just look at how much attention Kurihara of the volleyball team gets, in contrast to Yuri Fudo (who?) despite being a six-time title winner and the first player to reach 1 billion yen in career earnings on the Japan LPGA tour.
It's for the best. If they foolishly promoted Kotooshu, which I doubt they would have anyway (Kitanoumi and his ilk were very quick to declare his quest over yesterday), he just might have been the shortest-lived yokozuna in history, being unable to string even 10 wins on a regular basis. He's not ready. And his sumo is often ugly and awkward, in stark contrast to his cute smile. Baby face, you've got the cutest little baby face.

Kotooshu is cute. And that's why the in the land of cute the media has been so willing to tout him as the next yokozuna, when really his record over the last year looks pretty crap bar his excellent record the previous bout.
Here are his stats from the last 6 tournaments, no need to thank me.
May 14-1
March 2-7-6
January 9-6
November 2-5-8
September 8-7
and last July 9-6
That's not really yokozuna material. Injuries or not. Loses today to a guy around a foot shorter than him.
I like Kotooshu and enjoy watching him do well but he's no yokozuna. Case closed. Kyoko Fukada's new drama is on.

That panda is awfully happy. I suspect Jack Black and Lucy Liu are practicing the Japanese art of chikan.

Nioka gotten off? His wife however has a guilt-free ticket to return the favor, probably a multiple-pass. Avenge yourself Mrs. Nioka!!

Hey the red sign above says aim for gold. I will reasonably conclude that the proceeds remaining after winnings have been paid will be used to bribe Chinese officials next month to secure a gold medal, but the Chinese are good bargainers and Japan will be lucky to get a single bronze for it's fat cash-laden envelopes.

Thousands of years of history but they are just starting to find their real identity, courtesy of our products. No need to thank us, just spend 50 thousand a month on being beautiful in the way you are.
Posted in: Since the end of the war, Japanese had been blindly following the Western standard of beauty and they tried so hard to imitate and look like Western models or actresses regardless of our physical differences. But in recent years, Japanese have stopped looking only outside and started looking inside again. They are beginning to find their identity of being beautiful in the way they are.

Wait, how old is this knob Chad? Don't omit those kinds of important details.
I did read he's from Perth, a very comfortable but tad boring town, not unlike Adelaide. They're alright.

Zabuton are generally, if not always, not thrown when an ozeki loses, and certainly at no time before the penultimate bout. Kotooshu lost fair and square in my worth-nothing opinion, just way to slow to get out there, kind of reminiscent of his many lethargic starts. Eat some more yoghurt for gods sake. Your two-meter frame is all well and good, but your sumo sucks and enjoy your one cup. One Cup Ozeki that is.
Nice to see Hakuho gice Kisenosato an unneccesary shove out and into the old grey masses. Some passion there. Asa will do the same no doubt when the time comes. Kisenosato too big for his little komusubi boots. Going nowhere son. Not while Mongolia is in force.

You missed nothing. I got a photo beside it last month but didn't go in to the restaurant, as people do (or did), and then they went bankrupt. Osaka rocks but how such a lame monstrosity came to be an icon I'll never know. What a stupid doll. Thanks for nothing.

Who said the kids would have to get on the plane? Just put the plant on it and see if it gets into the in-flight meal. Said plant won't be pulling down the blinds mind you, so don't cry.

Sorry Cleo you've lost it. Your dogs are pets.
Are your dogs cute by the way? We can't eat cute animals.
I like dogs and all but don't tell people what they shouldn't eat. And no I'm not coming to your house either.
Moderator: Readers, the subject for discussion is China's decision to take dog meat off the menu during the Beijing Olympics. It is not about cows, pigs, chickens, whaling or anything else.

Yeah tough call. Did Naruhito get himself a dud? Or is living with the royal minders like living with your mother but ten times more intrusive and depressing...

I think it's fair cos they're worth whatever the market will pay. Those earning ridiculous sums of money are often ridiculously good at what they do, and entertain the world. And corporate sponsors, where fair chunks of the athletes' money comes from, are not losing out on their investments anyway. Everybody wins except those in the shoe workshops in loser countries, and well they can just blame their leaders past and present for not doing a better job of things. It's the politicians who are paid too much, with way too many perks and smirks.

Damn Aya is rich and cute. Becky is less rich, but still stinking rich, and less cute, in fact bordering on ugly, and certainly annoying.

日本ではおサイフケータイや絵文字が使えず、月額利用料が高いこともあり、今後は人気の持続力が問われることになる。
There are questions about it's long-term appeal as the Japanese version does not have a credit function (like SUICA for example) nor the "cute faces" functions, and the monthly fee rip-off will see you eating cheap convenience store obento.

Good, ban color contacts. Then ban all forms of hair dye. I like my Japanese Japanese. Black hair, brown eyes, and willing to satisfy all my desires without being too Mona Yamamoto about it.

I'll take one of each thanks. Such delightful models. Well Aya is anyway.
I'm surprised she'd use that thing since it can't do pretty little icons, much like this site and she'll have to settle for crappy ones like this (泣)
