The author does mention that the Palestinians were marking the Nakba, the brutal displacement of 700,000 Palestinians from their lands, resulting in several million surviving refugees today.

So why did the same (?) author include in the first paragraph: "...an annual Palestinian mourning ritual marking the anniversary of Israel’s birth", thus leaving the impression they are simply expressing anti-Israeli sentiments?

It was only during her university years—reading books about the Holocaust—that Ursula Boger found out her grandfather...

She should talk to her relatives, those who were actually there and saw what happened; she would get a better idea of what really happened.

I was hoping that maybe he would tell me one positive story about my grandfather, something that shows that he wasn’t all evil after all, that there was some goodness in him,” Hoess confided.

That is not permitted in Germany. There are laws against saying anything positive about that regime.

That was as a guard at a different camp (Treblinka). They're saying he's someone different now.

The "they" who are saying he is someone different now are the same ones who previously lied, deceived, and fabricated evidence saying he was Ivan the Terrible.

What is amazing is that there was no evidence that Demjanjuk committed a specific crime. The prosecution was based solely on the theory that if Demjanjuk was at the camp, he was a participant in whatever happened there.

Another illegal regime change to get rid of a leader whom the western elite does not like. Why do the people continue to tolerate this?

It is very unfortunate that this poor old man had to go through with this again, but not surprising.

This poor man was previously wrongly sentenced to death after various governments fabricated evidence indicating that he was Ivan the terrible. He would have been hung if it wasn't for the hard work of his family and Jim Traficant, who was the only US politician to get involved (all others were terrified to get involved). Even after Traficant had the evidence that he was wrongly accused, nobody in the US government wanted to get involved. So we should be very suspicious of any evidence against Demjanjuk; we know for a fact that they are willing to do anything to get him.

But as for your statement he is not wanted for 911 you are correct,

    Thank you!

Did he deserve a trial? Honestly.

    Yes!

Even more so if the guy they claim to be Osama was in fact someone else.

You compare killing enemy combatants to mass murder of innocent civilians you are one sick puppy.

No, I am just stating two facts and one opinion:

    1. Bush and Obama are both responsible for the killing of more innocent unarmed civilians than Osama was.

    2. Osama was not wanted by the FBI for 911.

    3. I don't think the man they murdered in Pakistan was Osama. And because they dumped the body at sea, we can't investigate.

Saddam was captured and tried, why couldn't "Osama".

they are talking enemy combatants (you know people with guns)

The poor guy they claim was Osama was not armed.

not civilians going about their daily lives when scumbag muslim terrorists fly planes into their buildings killing them.

I hope you realize that according to the FBI, there is insufficient evidence connecting Osama to 911. And I hope you also realize that many more unarmed innocent civilians have been killed by American forces. I wonder what they will say when/if Bush or Obama follow the same fate as the guy they claim was Osama, will they say they were legitimate targets?

I think questions should be asked as to why they dumped him at sea, because that makes it impossible to conduct an independent investigation,” Doswald-Beck said.

Indeed. But the absence of an independent investigation has never stopped the US before.

I suspect they dumped him at sea because that makes it impossible to conduct an independent investigation.

In war, enemy combatants who don’t explicitly surrender are considered legitimate targets, international experts said.

Hmmm, with that kind of reasoning attacking US targets should be considered legitimate. I'm glad "experts" have cleared that up.

According to the U.S. account, the assault team came away with hard drives, DVDs, documents and more that might tip U.S. intelligence to al-Qaida’s operational details and perhaps lead the manhunt to the presumed next-in-command, Ayman al-Zawahri. The CIA is already going over the material.

I bet this new intelligence will point them in the direction they wanted to go.

The same Obama/Sarkozy doctrine that sent them to Libya does apply here too.

Indeed, and both would be equally wrong, based entirely on lies and deception.

    WilliB,

Are you suggesting that he would have called the bulldozers regardless of where the monument was?

I wouldn't be so sure, definitely not enough to base my entire opinion of this guy's attitude towards the genocide.

Erdogan said "They have placed an abomination next to the Mausoleum of Hasan Harakani [a religious figure from the 10th century]; they erected a strange thing.”

Indeed, he is no fan of the statue, which according to the sculptor himself is of a human torn in half, but he objects to it being close to the Mausoleum.

Just last week Erdogan ordered the "Monument of Humanity", the only monument honoring the Armenian victims in Turkey, to be destroyed.

Erdogan objected mainly to the location of the monument, next to the Mausoleum of Hasan Harakani (a 10th century religious figure).

On Saturday, President Obama marked the anniversary of the massacre by calling it a “horrific” slaughter and “one of the worst atrocities of the 20th century,” but he stopped short of branding it genocide even though he had promised to do so as a presidential candidate.

It clearly was a genocide. Has Obama carried out any of his promises? Christopher Jon Bjerknes has written much about the Armenian Genocide.
