    jamal2609,

I had a look at Flaherty's article. What a waste of time, thanks a lot. Its just disinformation trash. If you still don't believe me, have a look at The Money Masters, you should be able to find this excellent video on the web.

"What is wrong with being a conspiracy theorist?" Because most of the their theories lack any grounding in reality.

Funny then that these "conspiracy theorists" have continually been spot on in predicting the problems in the economy, while the "experts" have continually been so wrong.

Here is another interesting video (are these people incompetent or liars?):

Eustace Mullins is a conspiracy theorist of the highest order

What is wrong with being a conspiracy theorist? There ARE conspiracies. Is there anything specific that you disagree with in his discription of the FED?

It is clear that the FED act of 1913 was imposed by deceptive means, and it should be eliminated and those behind it punished (and their wealth confiscated).

I don't quite buy the idea of the FED being owned by the the crown of England, but the City of London does play an important role. Archibald Maule Ramsay (an ex British MP) describes well how these criminals managed to take control of the Crown, among other things:

There are so few economy "experts" that seem to have any clue as to what is going on. Max Keiser is one the best, in my opinion.

One reason why the vast majority of Americans are clueless is that those who are fleecing America (and most of the world) do not want them to see what is happening to them

djuice and honestdictator, those are quite messed up (and surprisingly acceptable to this forum) descriptions of Islam you are providing there. Where do you learn these things, from FOX? the ADL perhaps? Toilette graffiti?

But hey, since you do appear to be so knowledgeable about religions, do you happen to know what features of other religions are behind the other terrorist acts, since the vast majority of terrorist acts are not carried out by Muslims.

Unfortunately, Americans are not well-informed about economics.

That is very much by design. If Americans were well informed, they would get rid of the Federal Reserve, and imprison all those behind it and confiscate their wealth. Actually, if they were well informed in general, they would do the same to most members of their government and their advisers.

If they were, they would have learned from the economic failures of socialism - in China, Cuba,...

In Cuba, the people were not doing very well before socialism. And much of the problems that came after were probably largely due to America's reaction to it.

I agree 100% with the author that Americans are not well informed about economics.

Some people say that one reason why some wealthy people donate money to universities is to ensure that certain truths are not taught there. There are so very few economy experts on TV that say anything close to what is truly going on, the great majority are either intentionally deceiving or they just have no clue.

The only way we can have a well-informed population, like Thomas Jefferson was hoping for, is to have an honest press and the ability to discuss freely.

The reason why it appears that most militants or terrorists are Islamists is because they omit the words "militants" and "terrorists" when they are not Muslims.

I always stand far enough back so that if I'm pushed even on purpose I won't fall in. Most people don't take this precaution.

I thought I was the only one...

I am amazed how the Japanese are so much against things like marijuana while at the same time find it perfectly acceptable for adults (men AND women) to get completely drunk in public. I wonder if its because of all the taxes that alcohol sales generates.

Wow Sabi, there actually is something we agree with each other on.

    Quite surprising, isn't it?

I'm sure you'll eventually come around to agreeing with my other comments ;)

I wonder what they will do with the many permanent military bases they built in Iraq. Maybe they will be used by the massive number of "private contractors".

U.S. involvement in Iraq beyond the end of 2011, Odierno said, probably would involve assisting the Iraqis secure their airspace and borders.

They're using the same excuse here in Japan. I guess this means US troops will never leave Iraq.

Osama Bin Laden himself got on video and bragged...

Oh so they say. If you choose to believe that childish piece of propaganda, suit yourself.

Yes, the mosque is part of a larger community center. But the protesters aren't protesting the halal restaurant or the swimming pool, they are protesting the mosque.

Indeed, their website says the center will include:

    • outstanding recreation spaces and fitness facilities (swimming pool, gym, basketball court)

    • a 500-seat auditorium

    • a restaurant and culinary school

    • cultural amenities including exhibitions

    • education programs

    • a library, reading room and art studios

    • childcare services

    • a mosque, intended to be run separately from Park51 but open to and accessible to all members, visitors and our New York community

    • a September 11th memorial and quiet contemplation space, open to all

So, these intolerant psychos do not want Muslims to have any place to pray near ground zero (or anywhere in America, probably)?

the people behind the mosque project are “the same people who took down the twin towers.”

They certainly are not. A group of Muslims was accused of it, based on flimsy evidence, but Muslims certainly did not bring down the towers.

Anyway, in this video Olbermann gives a great perspective of this conflict.

There is no mosque, its an Islamic center that will contain a prayer space.

Mental alertness does not decline at the same rate in everyone, so there should not be an age limit. I believe that after a certain age, renewal of the driving licenses should require the passing of a test to confirm the driver's mental alertness.

Never believe something until it has been officially denied. So Obama might be a Muslim after all, but his policies certainly do not reflect that.

Anyway, Obama is just a puppet, I am much more concerned about the beliefs of his masters...

I bet they harbor much more resentment towards their current leader. Many might even wish for Japan to return and recolonize North Korea.

No, it is only better for a few gangsters at the top, but it is bad for America.

Once again the proof is in the pudding. Since the war on terror hit high gear- just how many major acts of terrorism have we witnessed ?

Yeah, the US no longer needed a terrorist attack (to start a war).

All he is doing is changing the labels. American military will still be there doing essentially the same as usual, but he simply no longer calls it "combat".

Obama promises change, but he is more the same.

Indeed, they WANTED to drop the bomb.

Exactly 19 days before the first atomic bomb was dropped on Japan, Truman wrote in his own handwritten diary:

"Discussed Manhattan (it is a success). Decided to tell Stalin about it. Stalin had told P.M. (Churchill) of telegram from Jap emperor asking for peace…"

Also, Walter Brown, assistant to Secretary of State Byrnes, wrote in his diary that the President, Byrnes, and Admiral Leahy, Chief of Staff to the President "agrred [sic] Japas [sic] looking for peace. (Leahy had another report from Pacific) President afraid they will sue for peace through Russia instead of some country like Sweden."

Also, Manhattan Project scientist Leo Szilard met Byrnes (Truman’s most trusted advisor) on May 28, 1945. Szilard recalled what Byrnes "was concerned about Russia's postwar behavior. Russian troops had moved into Hungary and Rumania, and Byrnes thought it would be very difficult to persuade Russia to withdraw her troops from these countries, that Russia might be more manageable if impressed by American military might, and that a demonstration of the bomb might impress Russia." – (Leo Szilard: His Version of the Facts, pg. 184).

If you combine these quotes with the fact that months before the bombs were dropped, the Japanese were trying to surrender under conditions very similar to what the Americans finally accepted after the bombs were dropped.

The war ended with two terrible bombs and saved a hell of a lot of lives. Was it a good thing? Of course not ... But it did save a lot of people on both sides.

Simply accepting Japan's surrender many months before the bombs would have saved many more lives.
