I did wonder about the mechanics of that, too. Maybe an empty (!) carpark?

The Wii is already comfortably priced. They just need to keep pumping out interesting games. JT reported a surge in PS sales recently; probably people getting keen for the next Final Fantasy game in a few months. But the Wii keeps getting in gamers from all walks of life. For a laugh, look up Wiimote accidents on youtube. You can probably find plenty of videos of people who fail to use the Wiimote's hand strap, and accidently release their Wiimote whilst 'serving' in tennis, smashing their flatscreen and plasma TVs .

How can someone get up to this sort of behaviour as an employee of the Police department? Absurd. As for circling but no "romantic interest", wtf does that mean? That he just wants to rape her, not be her official stalker ? Messed up.

Doesn't anyone else think it's a bit messed up for partygoers to bill their company hundreds of thousands of yen for FAKE COMPANY? Go get yourself a real date, hosers....

Some of what is in these magazines would actually be an indictment of Japanese culture. For example, the girls' magazines with instructions on how to pinch and measure your own fat to see how obese you are, the insert ads in men's magazines for penile and boob jobs, and so on.

I think you'd need to think very carefully about what aspects of culture you were promoting before you just hit the babelfish translate button for everything.

Yeah. Maybe they could stop companies selling CANNABIS shitajiki, pencils, erasers, and so on at kids' stationary stores.

DRM can get stuffed. As far as I'm concerned, once I buy a CD, the songs are mine to copy and use as I like. The fact that I can't load data off my iPod without third party software is a joke.

I'm going to assume what Ginger means is that it's sickening that a mother would give up her daughters for such a tiny amount of money. I could understand (not permit! but understand) if the family was in dire straits and someone offered her 1m yen for a night with her daughter. But such a small amount of money reflects poorly on both the parent's love for their child and the disgusting person whose wallet it came out from.

Yah, that mascot has been around for years. I must ask my Japanese friends what they think.

Slightly odd looking station. Needs a handful of sakura petals wafting across.

Not that I want to take advantage of these folks, but anyone got an idea of some auction sites that might host these goodies?

Wasn't the whole point of the Stooges that they never had enough to say to make a real plot or any worthwhile dialog? Just nyaargh, whyiougghta, and slapping. Why does anyone think that is worth reworking?

Be a little cautious about using Kindle in Japan - I know someone who has and uses it, but needed to start it up and register it whilst in the States. Without doing so it wouldn't work, apparently. This is just rumour, but yeah - better check that sort of thing out.

The hands -are- ugly. As for robot lovers, I think a Japanese living in America already made his own companion robot that can do various things. He has also mentioned it is 'anatomically correct', but that's not what he uses her for...

Yes, one million yen is a joke. It would have cost quite a bit just to get those ridiculous (but effective?!) cardboard cutouts made. I saw some of those on the Japan vs Korea baseball news...

Someone wanting to escape the cops will do their damndest, shoes or not. And when they came to see him, they hadn't found the body yet ... He knew what he was in for, but they weren't to know just what had gone down.

The description is nearly putting me off mine, tim. The poor drivers have got to be afraid of this happening, huh? Gold star on this driver's report card, though, for being alert on the job.

As for the nutters on stations, I almost never line up, since there's usually space in my commuting hours. I rarely catch trains too, though, so it's not hard for me to stand.

That final comment is really inane.

I think, if they can push the Zeebo correctly, with the right kind of marketing and the right games, they will make a truckload of cash. The name is memorably bizzarre, obviously part of the ploy. They really need to get gamers' eyes with the right push titles, though. A good fps like Quake, some strong RPGs, etc. It really, really hinges on them being able to get the right licensing. Without third party support, the system doesn't have anything to sell. And you can bet that companies like Activision and others won't be giving away big titles they can legitimately sell to PS and PS2 owners. They'll only be permitting titles that were once popular but have fallen into decline, like Quake. PS sales are still strong these days, I think, so they won't go cannibalising their sales in the premium versions, unless massive sales of these offical knockoff versions become a reality.

They might want to implement a user-rating system, though, so players will be able to know what is hot and what isn't. A Facebook like interface would also be massively helpful.
