What sort of lazy-a** person can't copy down what's on a blackboard (whiteboard, yes!?). Sounds like another way to help the lazy stay feeble-minded.

This is great news!
If smoking can handle a recession where people are being laid off, smoking can handle bumping up the tax rate to be in line with other countries; ie about 800 yen per pack, please.

I forgot to finish: And now I'm coming to accept that there just isn't really anything good to watch on TV here, rather than it being my timing.

Yeah, I keep thinking that my attempts to watch TV are poorly timed, because every time I turn it on, it's mindless drivel talk-shows and talent-o. These dull stars' lustre begins to wear off about three days after they hit the limelight.

I remember this story a few weeks ago.
What I don't get is why the sentence for child prostitution is 7 years, same as the murder rap we had reported yesterday. I'm not saying the former isn't serious, rather that the latter seems like it needs a much longer sentence.

I'll bet 100 bucks that the person in front of him had already started to turn whilst waiting for oncoming traffic to clear, which meant being hit from behind thrust him into the cars coming.
My driving teacher taught me never to pre-turn like that. Drivers in Japan seem to do it a lot.

I suppose if a person forgets to clock out, your finger won't beep at you. I like the idea of an easy lock for my phone. I never lock it at the moment, and I've misplaced it a few times over the years, each time paling at the thought of people getting into my photos, contact list, etc.

They need to recognise Sumo will do better with skilled foreign wrestlers like Asa. I'm all for keeping it very Japanese and traditional - but chiding wrestlers for showing a little emotion is over the top.

I recall my father's old Mitsubishi station wagon being an absolute lemon. He had to replace the engine three times. Cost more than itself in different repairs.
