I love his attitude - do anything, as he's proven by chasing his hobby overseas. I don't think you can go wrong if you're willing to put in the work for a variety of roles.

This picture isn't nearly as hilarious as the one in my Konbini. It's the same guy, doing a classic bicep curl pose like a muscleman. It's ridiculous.

Don't be ridiculous, it's impossible to protect train lines from subversive actions - especially in a country where people need to cross them regularly in their daily lives.

Takeshi has such a mean glare basically all of the time. If he hadn't built up a following with his artistic endeavours, nobody would give him the time of day....

Her hat reminds me of Shinchan's helmet when he takes up his alter ego. In last month's comic, Shinchan has the special power to become UNCHI MAN when he smells his own poop. And this woman's hat immediately reminded me of that. Not really appetizing.

Unless you've never eaten meat or fish, you don't really get to cry about how pitiful it looks. It's just a fact of life.

Personally, I don't think it looks sad or retch-inducing. Probably the fishy smells is unpleasant. And I wouldn't envy anyone the job of carving up corpses.

    It bores me, too.

According to the TV news, this guy was seriously injured by someone on graduation day, those months ago? ... sad situation.

I think any turbine research would spoil the appearance of Japan's (the world's?) longest bridge. It's quite picturesque. Riding the tug around to see the whirlpools, though, your mileage will vary - sometimes you get good views, but sometimes they're hard to distinguish.

The rest of the world laughs its ass off every time someone calls Obama a socialist. Everyone that says that word has no effing clue what it means, and needs to go bone up on their history books a lot.

As for the opposition to his ideas - in the words of Dr. Phil, how was everything that went before workin' out for you? Maybe you should try something that might actually work instead?

I read an article a few months back by someone who once worked for Sega when they were considering a VR helmet for the gaming industry. They shelved it because there were health concerns. Apparently, 3D more or less involved tricking the eye into believing an illusion, which is fine for 2 hours or so at the movies. But what if it turns into every day for 6 hours at home? What if your eyes don't snap back? Or take longer and longer to do so?

That's right, mecha. Apparently it doesn't need glasses - but also doesn't work well with high speed images and causes eye fatigue. So it still needs work.

    I'm not sure I trust 3D anyway.

You must walk really close to cars, baka. These edicts don't change the reality of smoker behaviour. They just get indignant about it. I had a party where a teacher smoked beside a pregnant colleague. And at several schools I've been to , staff - including the principal - smoke outside the staff room or on school grounds, sometimes at times or places when they can be seen by students.

I know Japan is capable of dramatic and fast change, but we're talking about something with a physiologically addic

PrideinJapanese, I haven't seen this movie, but blocking it won't help Japan at all. It only makes Japan look unwilling to listen to criticism.

Tamarama, whilst I don't mind most of the things you mentioned, I do worry that Japan doesn't set boundaries clearly enough. Other sex subcultures of Japan just go way too far over the (western demarcated) line - take rape porn and rape video games, for example.

It's pretty sad that aspiring directors have to work in porn - though that doesn't mean they aren't talented. I'm sure I read once that the enormously talented Nobuo Uematsu, who is known to gamers around the world for his long work in the Final Fantasy series, got a start working in porn music a long time ago. I might be mixed up, though.
