Huh, how about that. A Bush appointee running the IRS while the Tea Party was being targeted for extra scrutiny.

    Article left this part out:

Shulman was appointed by President George W. Bush even though he was a donor to the Democratic National Committee in the month prior to the re-election of President Bush in 2004.

What you guys don't get is that you don't have a message that resonates with anyone outside of your own party,

Currently, Americans say by a 56 to 35% margin that they prefer a smaller government providing fewer services than a bigger one, according to our Sept. 2012 survey. These opinions have changed little over the course of Barack Obama’s presidency, although the margin did narrow in 2008.

While Palin's detractors remain limited to blogs, satire website, and fringe outlets, those questioning Obama's American citizenship include a long list of notable such as:

    Hillary Clinton

Ever wonder how it all got started?

The answer lies in Democratic, not Republican politics, and in the bitter, exhausting spring of 2008. At the time, the Democratic presidential primary was slipping away from Hillary Clinton and some of her most passionate supporters grasped for something, anything that would deal a final reversal to Barack Obama.

That theory first emerged in the spring of 2008, as Clinton supporters circulated an anonymous email questioning Obama’s citizenship.

“Barack Obama’s mother was living in Kenya with his Arab-African father late in her pregnancy. She was not allowed to travel by plane then, so Barack Obama was born there and his mother then took him to Hawaii to register his birth,” asserted one chain email that surfaced on the urban legend site Snopes.com in April 2008.

No offense, but I do not "make stuff up" when I post here.

Bill Maher Calls Sarah Palin The ‘C-Word’ During His Stand-Up Act

Maher isn’t likely to stop any time soon, unless some of his guests begin to confront and call him out for it, like Dana Loesch did over his use of the term “Teabagger,” or until he stops getting a reaction.

You know, there comes a point when the rabid "anti-Obamism" comes off as so disingenuous, so based on hatred and divorced from reality that the posters are really left with no credibility whatsoever. They've morphed from biased critics into running jokes and are difficult to distinguish from crude satirists of their own side.

Then you posted a video of crudest satirist of all Bill Maher? The same guy who called Sarah Palin a word so demeaning to women that I can't even mention on a public forum as it would be banned. The man that used the term "tea bagger" over and over again?

    Interesting to say the least.

Just have to say at least Its a good thing that the IRS didn't target any muslim political activist groups for the extra harassment by them. Now that have been going way, way over the line and would have really gotten some anger boiling by the politically correct dominated activist media to get at those responsible and dig to how far up this leads.

Since this is centered on the Tea party and conservatives, groups the media never cared for in the first place not so much a huge outrage that the IRS did this targeting but instead doing a lot of damage control to help explain that the republicans are really, really trying to use this to their advantage to make Obama look bad.

    Oh Good Lord,

IRS Official in Charge During Tea Party Targeting Now Runs Health Care Office

The Internal Revenue Service official in charge of the tax-exempt organizations at the time when the unit targeted tea party groups now runs the IRS office responsible for the health care legislation.

Sarah Hall Ingram served as commissioner of the office responsible for tax-exempt organizations between 2009 and 2012. But Ingram has since left that part of the IRS and is now the director of the IRS’ Affordable Care Act office, the IRS confirmed to ABC News today.,

And on Monday, the Justice Department came under fire for seizing phone records of journalists from the Associated Press as part of a criminal probe into intelligence leaks.

I noticed they buried this other scandal at the bottom of the article. I don't blame them though. I don't think the media wants to really advertise that their boyfriend Obama has actually been cheating on them after being so faithful to him, it's pretty embarrassing. Pretty sure they'll take him back though after all this blows over just like Hillary did after Bill's little indiscretion and all will eventually be forgiven.

A 'Beware of the Dog' sticker shows you're an animal-lover (you don't want people opening your door willy-nilly like they are wont to do out here in the inaka and letting your dog out); a 'Proud Member of the NRA' sticker shows you're a spineless jerk who gets his grit from a gun.

I hardly think both messages aren't really meant to portray to your local intruder / burglar to think "Gee, what a swell animal lover lives here or Boy, must be a gun totin' toothless cretin who's watching fox news right now" while out an about for a little casing of the local neighborhood for employment opportunities Ms. Cleo.

So for 90% it wasn't the main reason. I think 90% fits the definition of 'most', don't you?

If the question was asked slightly different from as to why you wanted to own a dog to "does owning a dog provide you a sense of protection?" the responses would be almost 100 percent positive Ms. Cleo.

In many cases just having a 'Beware of the dog' sticker on the front door acts as protection.

So does having a "Proud Member of the NRA" sticker on the front door, seriously think about that one just for a moment.

Sorry, but it comes back again to why people want guns.

Most people for their own personal protection as they're many places such as condo's, houses, apartments that you might want to rent that will stipulate right up front "No Pets" and the dog option is already ironically enough already legally banned and off the table.

    That doesn't mean all dog owners or all owners of large dogs or even all owners of pit bulls are bad;

A very well grounded and rational sentiment that you will never ever apply to gun owners unfortunately.

there are many, many reasons for wanting to own a dog, and for most dog owners protection is probably way, way down the list

According to gallup surprisingly 10 percent of dog owners actually cited it as the number reason for getting a dog. But you are correct the majority was for the companionship first and foremost, doesn't change the fact that dogs provide a huge fringe benefit in protecting the home as part of their doggie duties. My little min-pin thinks it's his number one job actually and demands to be petted after notifying us a stranger has crossed the yard boundary and was then greeted by his 'woofing'.

The only use for a gun, however, is to shoot someone.

That is not an accurate statement at all as guns are also used for sport and hunting besides for self protection. Ironically there are dogs not only in the role of protection but also many breeds are specifically and solely to support the gun owning hunter.

So yes, actually it is quite simple.

I obviously do not concur and stand by my position that responsible dog owners are on the whole good people and who should not be tarred as a group with any atrocious and usually criminal actions by totally irresponsible dog owners. Actions that have allowed small children to lose their lives in let's face it a most gruesome manner.

I've personally known many gun owners in my life and they have all been good people in my experience and I obviously feel the exact same standard in judgments should be applied to responsible gun owners and they also should not be demonized as a group for the actions of totally irresponsible gun owners.

I stand by my original that it is not so simple after all.

All in the same month. All kiddies. Probably every one of those guns was bought with the intention of 'protectin' mah fahmleh'. And the owners of the guns likely thought they were responsible, legal gun-owners exercisin' their constitutional rights.

    Ms. Cleo,

There is also another group of people who uses something different then guns but for all intensive purposes the exact same reason for 'protectin' mah fahmleh' and it can turn just as lethal on children as any gun has if the owner is irresponsible. This type of tragedy happens all to often also Ms. Cleo.

A family dog who had never shown aggression before attacked and killed a 2-year-old boy Wednesday in a subdivision near here about 15 miles southwest of Atlanta, police said.

    http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2013/04/25/pit-bull-kills-toddler/2113713/

Do you think all dog owners should also just be painted with the same brush as you like to do to all gun owners as somehow complicit for allowing these horrible events to happen ?

It's not that simple after all Ms. Cleo.

Honestly, who in their right mind believes people at the IRS always play nice, are completely professional, and are politically disinterested?

That would be Obama and the Democrats who thought to actually put them in charge of enforcing Obamacare on the American people.

When It Comes to Health-Care Reform, the IRS Rules

Get ready for the Internal Revenue Service to play a dominant role in health care. When Obamacare takes full effect next year, the agency will enforce most of the laws involved in the reform—even deciding who gets included in the health-care mandate.

    http://www.cnbc.com/id/100711119

Just imagine how great Obamacare is going to be when it really gets up and going and the 'professionals' at the IRS .will expand their power of intimidation even deeper on the American people getting into their own personal health care decisions. This is just a preview of where President Obama and the Democrats have really been leading the country and it ain't a pretty sight at all.

Yep, the media is the problem.

It is when it performs exactly like you here and by not giving any context to your assertions:

Number 1: 41% of GOP respondents labeled Benghazi the country's darkest scandal.

Poll was done by Public Policy Polling and outfit that works only for democrats and progressive organizations to solicit answers only favorable to them to trot out. And even they could only muster this ...... The survey found that just 23 percent of voters felt Benghazi was the worst scandal in U.S. history of of that paltry total is is where the 41 percent comes from.

    http://blog.foreignpolicy.com/posts/2013/05/13/39percentofpeoplewhothinkBenghaziisamericasbiggestscandalcantfinditonamap

Number 2: 44% of Republicans think armed revolution might be necessary in the next few years.

So do 18 percent of Democrat and 27 percent of Independents which equals 45% and outnumbers the republican 44%

    http://cnsnews.com/blog/gregory-gwyn-williams-jr/poll-29-registered-voters-believe-armed-revolution-might-be-necessary

Number 3: Of the 31 votes cast against repealing "Don't ask, don't tell", 100% of them were Republican.

In the house vote 26 Democrats opposed it also but let's not go there.

    http://www.nytimes.com/2010/05/28/us/politics/28tell.html?_r=0

58% of Republicans believe that God created humans in their present form within the last 10,000 years

And so do 39% of independents and 41% of Democrats and the overall numbers haven't changed in over thirty years of asking the question.

Gallup has asked Americans to choose among these three explanations for the origin and development of human beings 11 times since 1982. Although the percentages choosing each view have varied from survey to survey, the 46% who today choose the creationist explanation is virtually the same as the 45% average over that period

    http://www.gallup.com/poll/155003/hold-creationist-view-human-origins.aspx

Number 4: "Republicans approved platform language on Tuesday calling for a constitutional amendment outlawing abortion with no explicit exceptions for cases of rape or incest."

The abortion language plank has been virtually unchanged for thirty years in the republican platform and has never made an explicit exception for rape and incest as the official stance of the party..........ever.

So it's a bit puzzling why people are so shocked and dismayed that this year's platform contains no exceptions for rape or incest or to protect the health -- or even the life -- of a woman who chooses to have one. The anti- abortion plank of the Republican platform has never contained an explicit exception for any of these situations.

    http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2012-08-30/republicans-and-abortion-a-brief-history.html

Then it should be a simple matter for you to cite the criticisms Reagan and Bush (Sr) made - publicly - about Saddam Hussein long before the invasion of Kuwait.

You won't find them because your not giving a complete picture of the very complicated cold war geopolitical situation at the time. Soviet Union was still a very going concern then and still ensconced in Afghanistan. The Iran and Iraq war was in the interest of the U.S to try to keep it a stalemate so the Soviets wouldn't be able to fill in any power vacuums and be able to get closer to west's oil lifeline out of the persian gulf.

Reagan re-flagged Kuwaiti tankers so that the U.S could escort them with our warships with full legal protection of the U.S military. This was done more for sending the Soviets a powerful message that we were going to protect the wests oil lifeline by force if it came to that.

U.S Stark was hit also by our NATO partner provided French made Super Etendard jet with a French exocet missle that Saddam had bought from them along with a host of soviet weaponry.

and replace it instead with fringe pet projects ranging from Creationism to anti-abortion extremism to anti-homosexuality hysterics.

Wedge issues that can made into tasty negative thirty second campaign ads are gold mines for the Democrats (to be fair also for republicans, gun control as a wedge on Democrat's who hold office in red states comes to mind) and for the democrat lap doggie media. Creationism, anti-abortion and issues dealing with homosexuality do not lend themselves to pithy 30 second snarky rebuttals as these always tend to go to core of each individuals morals and personal belief systems that have molded by so many unique factors. They lend themselves to very long answers that can then be easily snipped apart and then use the snippets to portray the person as an unintelligent, backwards thinking moron that hates women. Even trying to answer questions of these types in a debate format is problematic for a republican candidate as the short answers can't really be fleshed out either. Since the Media is pro abortion, supports homosexuality as the new civil rights movement and really doesn't care for anything that involves a religious aspect to it is already primed to go for the throat as it is for any republican candidate with these gotcha's. Governor Jindal was referring to exactly this when he said republicans have to quit being the stupid party by forever trying to explain themselves on these fringe issues when the full the media could care less for a full explanation after they got the negative soundbite quote on record. Presenting the political currents of the state level as being representative of the broader national canvas disingenuous and silly, Sail.

The states Governor's mansions and the state house legislators is the deep bench from which national politicians originally cut their teeth. Increasing that bench as the republicans were able to do the last election cycle only bodes well for the party and in future elections nationwide. It is hardly a party in decline. Even Obama spent his time as a state legislator learning his 'trade' as he dreamed of bigger things for himself and the country.

What is disingenuous is how the media glosses over reality and highlights nothing but favorable democrat narratives that the GOP is in decline, irrelevant, performing autopsies on itself, hates women, been hijacked by tea party extremists, or whatever democrat talking point it just repeats over and over anymore. The integration of the democrat and media as pretty much one voice has been complete for years now and we are all paying the price for it for its lack of holding those in power accountable. There is no fear that the media is going to burn this administration no matter how egregious the transgressions. The current narrative that the republicans are just out making political hay out of this 'much ado bout nothin' in their stories is just totally pathetic and insulting. The IRS specifically targeted groups this administration and the media have been demonizing for years now. The ground to allow this abuse to occur was seeded by the very media itself in the IRS target selection. IRS agents happen to also read newspapers and see the visual media and are just as influenced by the biased one sided garbage reporting as everyone else.

Having a Republican governor for 6 years in no way diminished California's ability to sway presidential elections towards Democrats, did it?

Also didn't stem the tide since California embarked on the progressive blue state nirvana model of governance of people voting with there vote either to escape it.

A study released Monday finds that California, once the ultimate destination of millions of Americans dreaming of a better life, has been losing millions of its citizens to other states over the past 20 years.
