t's not his fault, he's a conservative. It's a character flaw in all of them.

    Taka

hope that not all conservatives are comfortable sat plonked in the middle of their own denial, as sailwind has obstinately shown he is determined to be.

Got it, I need help, could you both tell the U.s Govt to fund a program to get me well again? I'm sure a few your tax dollars will not be missed for worthy cause.

    Laguna,

Agreed, collapsed demand is what causes an economy or an entity to go through hard times. For instance take our Government, there is a huge demand for less of it right now but it demands more cash through tax hikes resulting in more hard times.

Did you look at the article? It's based on an average of reports from maybe 3 dozen firms. That would mean it's the average of input from literally hundreds of economists. If they're not close to the mark, no one is going to be and we might as well just be throwing darts at a roulette wheel.

Actually I did, last paragragh was the most interesting. This is what these economic genuises were saying before Obama's Must Pass new stimulus, err I mean Jobs Bill was even on the table.

The economy will expand 2.2 percent next year, according to a separate Bloomberg survey of economists conducted Sept. 2 to Sept. 7. The same survey said the unemployment rate would average 8.8 percent in 2012.

I'm more inclined to believe double dip recession is the more likely outlook and unemployment stuck a 9.2 percent at a minimum until Govt finally gets it act together and the deficit spending under control.

Oh my goodness! What is this? Economists agree the jobs plan would not only be EFFECTIVE but is possibly the ONLY thing preventing another recession in 2012? This can't be! Who are these so-called "economists"? Well, they must be "elitists" with their "college education" and their "knowledge of how economies work"

Must be the same economists that said the first stimulus bill would keep the unemployment rate under 8 percent and create new jobs.

In the two years after the ‘stimulus’ spending bill was enacted, more than 1.3 million jobs have been lost and the unemployment rate has averaged 9.5 percent – despite projections by White House economists that the “stimulus” would keep unemployment below eight percent.

I think the "college elites" and their expert 'knowledge" should go back to school for a little refresher training on the subject given their stellar track record so far.

    Yabits,

Governor Palin never claimed she was a foreign policy expert. If she had ever proclaimed she was strong in foreign policy and then made a weak impression on her knowledge of the subject then the folks that derided her would actually have case. Her expertise actually was in energy policy a subject the Media did not really ask her about at all.

    You quoted this,

In public, Palin looked like the game changer McCain had wanted, but in private,** the authors say she was struggling to learn too much too fast.**

I guess this would be considered a "bad thing" to a Liberal's view of her.........Studying and trying to learn as much as she could in a short time on a complex subject she really never had to use or really deal with in her life up to that point.

    Got it,

Getting ones start in politics as a PTA mom in a very small town in Alaska warrants being called dumb. jannetto, I hope your relatives have survived the pain of being subjected to her Governship.

    Ah so,

Only in Alaska could a woman with so much limited ability and crass ignorance could ever get herself elected as Mayor of her town and then elected Governor of her state and do such such a good job that she became a vice presidential candidate.I would have to say the men in Alaska are pretty much wimps......your thoughts?

    Sad day all around.

She is not running, Many JT posters will no longer have the chance to show their superior intellect by how many times they can insert the word "dolt" and "Idiot" into a post about an article involving her.

I will miss the deep thoughts that I have reading in the past on articles about her and I will just have to move on since she has bowed out.

Sailwind - "Good call on her part not to enter the Presidential race after all. Our current political landscape doesn't need another highly divisive polarizing candidate."

Did it really take you 3 years to figure that out? Wow..... I thought snails were slow. :-)

Nah, I figured that out two years ago after he pushed his version of Health Care Reform into Law.

Now that Sarah has done what she does best and QUIT

Ummm, usually one has to actually announce that they are actually running before they actually quit a campaign.

Good call on her part not to enter the Presidential race after all. Our current political landscape doesn't need another highly divisive polarizing candidate. Obama has that role covered as it is already.

    That's right. Duck the question.

Got it. I'm suppose to answer some hypothetical question based on some future "fact" that you've already determined will happen, and that is called ducking the question.

That's a pretty big IF there. So if Cain gets thrown under the bus -- I should say when he gets thrown under since he's nowhere near getting a majority of the right-wing -- are you going to admit that those of us claiming he's being used as a "get-out-of-race-jail-free" token have made our point? Eh?

    Yabits,

I'd work on getting your smears on the Mr. Cain instead. The Liberal Huffington Post had this little tid bit in an article about his latest rise in the republican polls.

The Post/ABC poll finds that Cain made a similarly positive impression on the roughly half of Republicans who say they watched the recent debates. Seventy percent say that the more they hear about Cain, the more they like him, while only 12 percent say they like him less. Cain's impression was far more positive than that made by Romney or Perry.

The Tea Party supporting Herman Cain is not tantamount to "the Tea Party is not racist". That's just like the old, "Seriously, one of my best friends is black" argument. To the Tea Party, Herman Cain is nothing more than the "magic negro" of 1940s cinema. He serves their purpose and he's "pretty good... for a black guy".

Got it. So if he wins the Republican nomination and goes on to win the White House the joke will be on the Tea Party after all for supporting a black guy in the first place to prove they are not "racists".

On the contrary, I think he runs fast food franchises quite well. But not much else, I'm afraid. Some Tea Party types -- all 24% of them -- are simply using him as their token to say: "See? Look at how racist we are not!"

Got it. Vast a cover-up and Mr. Cain is just getting Tea Party "pity votes" while they go about their real behind the scenes nefarious plots.

Nope. That would be you. The term nappy is not in itself offensive at all. And the fact that you don't realize that indicates your level of sensitivity. Nappy simply refers to a natural afro hairstyle.

Correct me if I am wrong but I do not believe the land that is being referred here in this discussion was ever called "Nappy Head".
