On the Irony front. Katie Couric from CBS news is unemployed now. Sarah Palin seems to be doing quite well.

This woman has no intelligence, she's thinks be being popular she can run America.

True....Her lack of intelligence has now produced a media trailing her bus just in hopes she will actually give them the time of day, after the way the media treated her after her selection as McCain's V.P.

I understand that, when she first became governor of Alaska, she took on a lot of entrenched Republican interests in her state. I can respect her for that.

You finally actually looked at her real record? Good on ya.

If Palin runs and wins the nomination, who would she pick for her running mate?

Actually, I would think Condi Rice would be an excellent choice. It would bolster her Foriegn policy credentials and drive Liberals totally nuts.

You seriously believe she gives a rat's about the event or the cause?

Yes I do, no offense but you have not really given a compelling reason why she shouldn't. I guess her oldest son serving in the Military should be off the table now also.

Far from being indignant, I personally feel the event clearly shows Palin as the self-centered person she is --

Good for Sarah Palin and good for her for bringing Media national attention to this event and the cause they represent.

Actually Palin is in the wrong here. You would think after an invite to ride with the Rolling Thunder Veterans she would have paused and considered the security concerns and the hype she would create and taken a pass. Her quick " Hell Yeah" response to ride with them just shows yet again a total lack of judgement from a backwards hick from Wasilla Alaska who has no business being on the national scene.

    Taka,

I'll go with what the Rolling Thunder organization said after MSNBC and Andrea Mitchell displayed her fine journalistic skills in regards to Palin.

Turns out, as per organization spokesperson Christine Colborne, Palin had been invited, but had RSVP’d too soon for the group to announce her arrival to all its members.

Hot Air’s Ed Morrissey called up the organization and got in touche with Colborne, who explained that the issue was one of “internal miscommunication” and that Palin had been invited by Michael DiPaolo, a retired board member. Ted Shpak, another organization spokesperson and veteran himself, hadn’t been notified of Palin’s appearance by the time he went on Andrea Mitchell Reports and was seriously concerned that Palin would be a “distraction”:

“We will not be satisfied until justice rolls down like waters and righteousness like a mighty stream.”

This just after the Mississippi floods? Who writes her lines for her

That would be Martin Luther King Jr. if you want to know the origin of the line.

Funny no conservatives are talking about why Our Sarah was on the back of a bike and not riding one.

I'd hazard to say its because it was her Daughter Willow who was up front shifting the gears and doing the honors. Pretty cool her Daughter can handle a Harley.

Like a classless twit, palin crashed the Vietnam Memorial Ride. They didn't want her there. But no she had to disgrace it with her presence.

    What a classless baffoon.

    According to ABC News:

ABC News' Sheila Marikar [@sheilaym] reports: For the riders of Rolling Thunder, the news that Sarah Palin will participate in their national rally on Sunday came as a surprise. A welcome surprise.

“I think that’s wonderful,” said Gerri Tramel, president of one of Rolling Thunder’s Tennessee chapters. “Anybody that’s involved -- Republican, Democrat, independent, whatever -- if you’re involved with our veterans, I think that’s wonderful. Not just Sarah Palin -- anyone that’s a politician.”

For more than 20 years, as many as half a million motorcycle riders from across the country have descended on Washington, D.C., during Memorial Day weekend to raise awareness about prisoners of war and those missing in action. Rolling Thunder announced Thursday that Palin accepted an invitation to participate in its May 29 rally. She’ll kick off her One Nation Tour the same day, a bus trip along the northeast coast that aims “to educate and energize Americans about our nation's founding principles.”

Good to see her honoring our Veterans on Memorial Day and riding with them. I do have to also admit at the risk of being called sexist. She also looks pretty darn good riding on the back of that good old American made Harley.

Mate, to be brutally honest I think one of the biggest mistakes us liberals make is assuming that conservatives are “intelligent.”

Actually Sushi, Herman Cain has liberals pegged to a tee as far as discussion and intelligent debate.

I love this guy and hope he does catch fire since he announced his bid for the Republican nomination, oh his statement on Liberals and their tactics.....Shift the subject, Ignore the truth, Name call.....SIN

That's what liberals do. They shift the subject, ignore the truth and call opponents names to avoid a real debate or rational discussion. These are their sin tactics.

Do intelligent people follow those who are described in the way one of Palin's former confidants has described her? At the risk of sounding "uncivil," I'd have to say "No."

Intelligent people look as you have stated on this very thread "the whole truth". It would seem you disregarded your own counsel on Frank Bailey. Or you would have also noted Frank Bailey is the only member of Palin's administration to have been charged twice for ethics violations and was suspended by Governor Palin, that's the whole truth.

Oh and he is also currently under investigation by Alaska's A.G for yet another ethics violation in his use of private emails.

Actually the more I think about this strategy she is using the more brilliant it becomes. Not only will she get free press on this and not have to go through the "begging" phase for large donors to support her campaign that all the others have to right now. It also means she will not be beholden to any special interest groups or lobbyists if she does get the nomination and can campaign in the general election without having that baggage on her and can campaign as a true Washington outsider. Have to say for an "idiot" and the now come to be expected name calling which seems to be the continued normal discussion with Liberals even after President's Obama speech on a return to civility in our national discourse. The lady is my opinion is actually pretty smart and I have never seen a "stealth campaign" like this by a politician and to actually get paid to do it to boot, now that is some real true good old fashion Yankee ingenuity on display.

"Palin has written a best selling book, and draws large crowds when she appears at bookstores, rallies and other events"

Liberals can't seem to accept this fact.

Silly, of course they can accept this fact. Do they like it is another matter.

Just use Tina Fey's impression of her on SNL and watch it over and over again. I always get a chuckle.

Just one thought. Looks like Palin took her little backwater degree in Journalism from the Univeristy of Idaho to pretty good use.

She gets paid to give her views on FOX. She gets free media coverage from other outlets for announcing a bus tour, and a media trying to divine her attentions. Her speeches on her bus tour will get front page coverage on all the local papers she visits and getting her message out pretty much for free. The other Republican candidates will spend millions just trying to get their message out.

President Obama who feigns no problem is furiously raising tons of cash to get re-elected. He also has "free media" coverage and pretty darn friendly at that. he also knows he has a serious problem and needs serious cash to produce ads and make him look good.

I'd have to say she is not an "idiot" but as suave as you can get to get your message out, and not just for free but to actually get paid for it before actually seeking donations from donors for your campaign.

    Great Article,

Quite the slog to get through it all. Glad to see instead of throwing in President Obama's little "oopsie" in the guestbook thing, A.P made sure it was the very last paragraph. I'm just sure if it was President Bush it would have placed by A.P at the very bottom of a highly and very nice visit between our two countries heads of state.
