A.P couldn't find one person not one in all of Ireland who wasn't swooning over him?

Is this a misprint? Quote: "Cain lost a three-way Republican U.S. Senate primary bid in Georgia in 2004 with one-quarter of the vote. His “Hermanator” political action committee has taken in just over $16,000 this year. Supporters say he taps into the tea party-fueled desire for plain-speaking citizen candidates."

    Huh? $16,000 is peanuts.

It's an A.P article with the negative 'spin' that one can always expect in regards to a Conservative candidate. The Hermanator PAC raised $221,950 during the 2010 election cycle to support candidates he liked. There is no elections in 2011 to speak of. So his PAC would not be expected to be raising any serious money in the off election year. Now that he has announced his PAC will be seeing some serious donations coming in now. Also the article fails to mention his stint as the Head of the Federal Reserve Bank, one would think that would be a pretty important point in the mans background to mention since he is now made it official that he is running for President.

Also he jumped in the Senate race only in the hopes of forcing a run-off with the leading Candidate.

    According to Wiki,

Cain sought the Republican nomination, facing congressmen Johnny Isakson and Mac Collins in the primary. Cain and Collins both hoped to deny Isakson a majority on primary day in order to force him into a runoff. Cain finished second in the primary with 26.2% of the vote, ahead of Collins, who won 20.6%, but because Isakson won 53.2% of the vote, Isakson was able to avoid a runoff.

He came real close to prevailing but fell a bit short.

I like the guy. Knows how to create jobs, real jobs and was head of the Federal Reserve Bank in Kansas City. He knows economic reality and federal policy. A potent combination to get our economy back on track with some real 'been there, done that' experience. Plus he isn't a darling of the Washington beltway or Ivy league elite types, I like that.

The Herminator is my number 1 pick in the field so far.

I also do not get this. To tell Israel to return to the 1967 borders with no promise or concrete guarentees that the land given back will not be used to mount further attacks on a smaller Jewish target? Israel reset the border with Gaza, withdrew her settlements and the Jewish folks that are more or less in the 1967 border outside of Gaza have been subjected to pretty much daily rocket attacks from Hamas. This is the peace we want Israel to return to? I for one do not want to see the Jewish state or the Jews wiped out a second time, they've been through more than enough in their collective history. Until the Arab states and the Palistinians finally accept them as a legitimate nation can peace finally be achieved.

Obama was wise to bring this issue up again at this point.

In what way? To remind those seeking freedom and democracy that the United States is willing to throw a democracy we support under the bus to appease the more radical elements in those societies that are killing their own people who want democracywe can be 'tough' on a democracy?

This is wisedom??? This is nuts.

I admire Obama for daring to challenge Israel on this point. Israel has the right to exist, but it should not enjoy privileges beyond any other people or state.

plasticmonkey, first off most of her neighbors refuse to even recognize Israel as a legitimate state in the first place. Maybe we really should start there and overcome that little item first before we start talking about any 'privileges' she is enjoying.

Gosh...Kinda wonder if the folks would just quit trying tell the Jews to move back into its original 1967 backyard and let em do it when they feel secure enough.

Oh. that security thing seems to be missing.

RR: "The Palestinians can move to Syria or Iran"

Are you kidding, neither of those countries would take them in. Nor would Jordan.

    No offense,

Did you ever hear of Palistinian refugee camps? Google it you will be suprised.

One has to wonder why the outrage all of a sudden? Why the outrage when Pres. Obama does something that Pres. Clinton and bush attempted? What makes Pres. Obama SO different?

    Taka,

Could you clarify why the difference between..... Pres. Clinton and bush in your post? I do believe they both held the same position.

My guess is that Obama is mostly fed up with Netanyahu and the part about Israel was his way of sending him the message. Overall I think Netanyahu has been counterproductive to the peace process and he needs to go.

Just my opinion, but is it not sad we have to guess about President Obama's motives? In foreign policy clarity is pretty much the standard to start with for what we really stand. Nttanyahu may be counterproductive in your opinion but maybe not so in an Israeli living in Sedot and dealing with rockets attacks from Gaza everyday. That is the citizen he has to answer to not us.

I am just a dumb slow witted conservative who is trying to fathom the brilliance of including the Arab and Israeli conflict into his speech in supporting those Arabs that are getting killed resisting their current regimes. The dictators and autocrats they live under have always channeled the anger their local populations have towards them unto Israel instead and by default America for supporting her.
The Arab spring is not directed toward Israel or America but the very regimes themselves. It makes no sense, no sense at all, that giving our support to those that are risking bullets for freedom are motivated or even care about Israel or Palistine at this point. They want them gone and want freedom, real freedom. This speech should be about our support for that. It is also a true and historical fact that democracies do not fight wars between each other. Israel is a democracy inside her borders. Here we have a chance to support real deomcratic forces in Syria to become a real democracy. She is also on Israel's borders. If that happens in Syria let Israel and Syria negotiate a real peace between them. Let the democratic forces in Eygpt mature and take control. Then after the big players in the region on her borders have worked out a peace, then bring the Palistinian, Isaeli situation to the table for a just solution.

We are failing here, we are failing big time by including the Israeli Palistinian issue with what the Arab street covets right now and Israel already has within her borders.... FREEDOM.

First of all, conservatives like yourself have a very deep emotional investment in selling themselves on the extremely foolish notion that President Obama has done nothing positive for the country. "There are none so blind..."

President has done one of the most positives things for the country that you can ever imagine. He is proof once and for all that an African American can be elected President of the United States. I for one am grateful the country came to that point in my lifetime and proud of that fact. It is too bad that if you disagree with President Obama's policies and the direction he wants to head the country you get labeled some sort of racist. That was something I thought his election would finally end and was hoping that was to be for all Americans. As far as his overall politics I disagree with them. I do not see a better America for our children under an ever expanding nanny state but a poorer one with less opportunity and saddled with massive debt. I am talking about his policies, not Bush's, not Cheney's which as always is what Liberals here always default too. I do not see him as a strong incumbent I see him as another Jimmy Carter. Means well, but really doesn't have a clue on how to create real jobs or get our country on a track for real growth and a better future for the next generation. That is my honest opinion on our President.

Dumbfounded conservatives who don't have a clue, obviously.

I'm clueless Yabits, what do we have? Tell us, what do we really have. 3 Trillion in debt is what I see.

He's got charisma. Charisma goes a long way. It got him to the White House,

Where, What charisma? He had a slogan "Yes We Can" and a Media that parroted it. 2 years into his administration and seriously what do we really have?

Heh, and not in the world of the bitter and vindictive McCain supporter that just can't let go?

The article states that President Obama is a strong incumbent that will be hard to beat. The article offers nothing to back that up. I fail to see how pointing that was worthy of a personal attack on myself or opinion on A.P's reporting in this article.

I do not believe he is a strong incumbent, if you believe he is please post why. I believe the failure in his Stimulus plan, his failure in healthcare reform that he claims lowers prices but raises prices for all, his failure in closing GITMO, his failure in creating jobs, his spending spree that has loaded our future generation with nothing but debt. Tell me Sir, this makes a strong incumbent?

President Barack Obama is seen as a tough incumbent to beat in the November 2012 elections despite the U.S. economy’s continuing woes.

Only if you are reporter with A.P is he seen that way.

Ron Paul is not a Tea Party Favorite or the spiritual father and founder of The Movement. Far from it, the modern Tea Party movement can trace its start to Rick Santelli and his rant on the floor of The Chicago Mercantile exchange in Feb 2009. Even the Huffington Post admits it.

CNBC's Rick Santelli is claiming that his infamous rant on the floor of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange that started the Tea Party movement was the best moment of his life. "People ask me if I'm the father of the Tea Party movement...I was the spark ...that started it. If being the lightning rod that started the Tea Party is what's written on my tombstone, I'll be very happy." Santelli was catapulted to instant fame after his five-minute outburst on CNBC in Feb. 2009--where he decried government bailouts, called struggling homeowners "losers" and speculated aloud that a new Tea Party might be needed--went viral. In the Sun-Times interview, Santelli called the rant "the best five minutes of my life," but said he has not tried to influence the direction of the Tea Party in any way. He did call the rise of the movement "a proud moment for America."

The first organized protests happened about 4 days later after his rant went viral. Ron Paul had nothing to do with it. A.P is playing fast and loose with the real facts again to fit the meme. Ron Paul is pretty much a loon overall and A.P just wants to tie him to the modern Tea party movement to discredit it as usual.

I don't get it. Why releasing photo of dead OBL will provoke more violence BUT releasing informations of how to attack US citizens ,US targets is considered to be OK?

It's called politics.......and how to get the best position to get re-elected by motivating your core base. Before I get slammed, a Republican President in my opinion would have showed the pictures post haste. A Democratic President would not as it really shows the ugly side of this war and does not set with the overall Democratic view of utopia where people like Osama only existed because of some root flaw in our Foreign policy over the years.

    My opinion.
