I don't know about you guys, but I am one of those who wasn't able to spend Christmas in my home country because there is no available ticket for the Philippines, despite its balloooooooooning price during the holidays! So, whether it's crisis or not, the Filipinos will still fly back home because of Christmas! Airline executives should learn how Filipinos could defy economic theorem against all odds!

In a society where neighbors are quite indifferent to each other, having a cellphone can indeed give the parents some sort of peace of mind, especially when untoward incidents happen to their kids. But then, parents should also be responsible enough to guide their kids with the limitations of using cellphones because what they perceive to be the one safegurading their kids could also be the same tool for their kids' destruction - eg deai-saito, etc... Because these cellphone, most of the time, are useful when the kids are outside the portals of the school, then its usage should be banned within the school, and can only be activated once the kids leave the campus. I have to say though that even mobile phones cannot totally save your kids from the dangerous predators of society!

Riyo misquoted the delegate from the Philippines who said "Now, I'm not Asian?" when the latter complained why she was not included by a certain photographer in a photo shoot for Asian delegates. Riyo reported that to her trainor, Ines Ligron, and then the (false) news spread via Ines' blog that "Miss Philippines said she wasn't Asian"... and the rest was history!

Yes.... your girl could be Miss Universe too if she has the guts to do so. Tell me the same thing again if your "JP girlfriend" has at least (1) applied and (2) passed the first screening of Miss Universe Japan competition.

Not all girls in Japan are meant to become OL's or the stereotypical cutie type that some of you guys here have probably met/known in your very limited exposure with Japanese women. There are those who have dreams... being a beauty queen is just one of them! You may not know it, but some of these girls had probably given up a lot of opportunities just to make it into the Top 10! MUJ '06 Kurara Chibana herself had taken this risk - giving up a luxurious job offer just to continue with the pageant - and the rest is history!

The tourism industry in Thailand must be revived! Although my home country, the Philippines, is a much more beautiful destination, I don't think the archipelago is ready to absorb even just a portion of tourists spilled by the uncertain situation in Bangkok. Thailand will rise again, and shine!!!

I think the issue on racial discrimination is long over with Obama's victory. It is now leaning towards gender discrimination, with mean spirited Americans bullying a vice-presidential candidate who happens to be a woman. Not to mention the same-sex marriage issue in California! The wheel is rolling on again......................

in case people forgot... the philippine senate recently approved the japan-philippines economic partnership agreement (jpepa) or whatever it was exactly called (^^)... this is just one of its immediate by-products!
and hopefully, cebu pacific could help deliver some more bananas to japan because my nearest supermarket is always running out of them! i could only shop after work, which is around 6 pm, and by then all the bananas are GONE!

It isn't really hard if they aren't picky. They dream of a Romeo, discriminate against Asian men, and at the same time they only want to date those of their own kind. Here in Japan, it is even more difficult if you're a non-Japanese Asian. Most people think lowly of us. I have long given up on this. I just need to accept the way things are, focus on the good things that come way, and avoid both white and Japanese women so I could save the remaining self-esteem and sanity that I have.
