Competition is Yahoo, and its stupid closed rules and fees for everything.

I've been using both ebay and yahoo auctions since both of them started, I can tell you yahoo auctions Japan is FAR better than ebay ! (example: yahoo = lower fees, and treated like a person, ebay = don't get me started )

gogogo is right, ebay sucked in Japan then, they will suck again.

Not every Geothermal plant will operate for ever in one location, but neither do nukes, here's looking at you Fukishima!

Geothermal start up per KWhr maybe more than nuke, BUT nuke clean up may take a few hundred thousand years - total cost is unimaginable!!

Any accident at a Geothermal plant pales in comparison to Fukishima, Chernobyl, etc http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nuclear_and_radiation_accidents (wikipedia may / may not be 100% correct, but there is a basic list of stuff that went wrong to date)

backing nuke for the long-term in Japan with our current level of technology is unimaginable!! ANYTHING else is looking good at this stage.

electricity is used for heating ? with all the fires in winter due to kerosene heaters I never believed Japanese used electric heaters much... also, does an aircon use more power to heat than to cool ?

me thinks this is more scare tactics to get nukes back online... the "need them for summer" BS did not fly, so they try "need them for winter" ? someone at the Nikkei has got tepco shares :)
