just change the MAC address of your router to the same as the router they provide you with, most routers have that option.

ok, but they are not storing photos, text files take up very little space and time. Compression of text files means even less space. HDD space alone costs as little as 10 yen / GB , only thing that would make this expensive is if they paid their staff way…

I say let them sell in Japan, stopping sales in Japan will not stop the R4... Japanese who want the R4 will just buy from other countries, only the JP retailers will loose here. (not like JP Post is going to be checking packages for R4)
