Have talked to Hesegawa-san a couple of times and he is very friendly and very switched on. Of all his restaurants, to me only Zest fails to hit the mark. Not even close to Mexican or Tex/Mex food. The rest are pretty good, with Gonpachi great fun and good value.
But his chain has lost a lot of market share recently to HUGE Co with their Rigoletto, Dazzle, Mucho and Hacienda del Cieo restaurants among others. All are very good.

He has been out drinking at Splash Bar. Confirmed by a friend living in Niseko and Australian news reports. There is a very dangerous combination up there of no responsible service of alcohol and Aussies with no true winter clothes and the harsh weather of the past few weeks.

Good luck to them all. Nogoya is a tough marathon and has strict quantification rules and a tough cut off. Jessica has probably done some training with her BF Jenson Button. F1 drivers are super fit and Jenson is a very speedy triathlete.

Don't have a bread maker at home? I do, and with regular bread mixes you also need to add eggs, milk and butter or oil. This mix has all that included so it might be okay. Am going to try and pick up a packet and give it a go.

@tmarie I get a Radishbo-ya fruit and vege delivery that is sourced from Western Japan. You can ask them for this service. And I am really happy with what they deliver. Hopefully this will mean that you will be able to place orders on line; at the moment you need to fill out paper forms every week.

My wife is from Date and we have tried the ice cream from his shop a couple of times and it is very good. This will be a small bit of good news for the town. BurakuminDes is spot on. No major evacuations happened. Also, the local JA is testing all produce in the area and some crops are not being harvested if high cesium readings are found. Not sure about milk testing.

Heard about this from a real estate agent. He was recommending to buy an apartment close to where the station is planned as prices will be sure to rise when the news is released. Probably too late now.

@ Lunchbox. A clean up of J Rugby ain't going to happen unless they get rid of all the old farts that run the JRU. Even my friend who is one of these old farts thinks this. Make it professional at the top and then hopefully it will trickle down.
EJ is the best man for the job. He needs to stay on until 2019 if he is going to make any difference.

When the Japanese police start following the letter of the law, then the masses may follow. Every single cop on a bike that I saw on the weekend was breaking the law about riding on footpaths.

I am with BD on this. Tough headline! Most would think making a final in his first swim meet in 5 years in the weak for him IM, is a great comeback. He will only improve.

Lunchbox: It is Super Rugby that Japan will field a team in the next couple of years, so no trips to Argentina. Only NZ, RSA and Oz. You are thinking Quad Nations. EJ has big plans and will be the perfect coach for Japan.

Eddie will get the job. Expect a Japan based team team in the Super 15 in the next couple of years.
