It could be from eating his wife's curry before every game. Actually, I think it is due to STRESS. The stress of not hitting in the WBC. The stress fom the Japanese media. The stress of former Mariners' comments about how he plays. I am a fan, and I hope he gets better soon. Can't wait to see him and Jr. playing together. I'm not expecting any miracles, but I hope the Mariners do well this year.

According to all the reports I've seen, she is dumping him, not the other way around. The main problem of the relationship was him fooling around. It happened earlier in the marriage, and she said she would keep trying, then it happened again last year. I am glad they are getting a divorce. It is too bad it didn't work out, but it didn't seem like a great match in the first place. I remember thinking, "Jinrai?" when they got married. Norika is doing great work using her celebrity status to bring attention to the work the Red Cross is doing around the world.

WilliB and YangYong ifyou want a codeine cough syrup, just go to your local drugstore and ask for rikokode. It's usually in a small bottle that you swig down.

I thought the press conference was bad, now this? Talk about dragging the image of Japan into the mud. I'm sure the museum will be wary the next time a Japanese tour group comes through. Good riddance!

Hey Meiwaku, give the guys a break! They just played their LAST game due to Seibu pulling their sponsorship. Congrats for keeping your minds on the game and the championship Seibu. (Actually Meiwaku, they did have slightly odd uniforms. I believe a pink rabbit... But it is cho kawaii!)

Microsoft needs to spend their money on fixing their buggy software, or invest more in making Windows 7 a success. They are going to lose so much money on this project. So many well-established chain stores are closing shops right and left. Even the venerable Starbucks. Apple was successful with their stores because their products were often hard to find, now their customers can easily check out their products. Microsoft products are everywhere, and access is easy. Another problem is if they have something like the Genius Bar at an Apple store, they are going to be incredibly busy doing troubleshooting for their customers. In the end, most customers will probably buy online anyway.

Sammi33, the people losing their jobs and forced to move out on the street are contract workers usually paid by the hour. If your hours are cut back, you don't get as much. Some were living off of 30,000 to 50,000 a month. Without a dormitory room, they would've been homeless. I'm sure a lot of them would have loved to have enough money to actually save some. Generally speaking a lot of money in Japan is in savings.

The payoff that Aso is pushing just looks like a way to pay people to vote for the LDP in the next election, but the sad fact is, it ain't enough of a payoff. Won't make a bit of difference to the average person. They should have figured out some kind of income tax reduction. Of course it wouldn't help people who don't pay income tax.

For some readers, please do not confuse Greenpeace with these nuts in the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society. Greenpeace does not condone or support terrorist activity.

How did anyone know that he left his mom alone? Did he come forward to the police or something? Or was it a neighbor?

Then why does it take so long to get anything done in Japan? The beaurocracy in both government and business. I guess the concept of kaizen is good, judging from the success in the US, but Japan has to practice what they preach. Maybe they need kaizen in the court system too... Listen to the song by the High-Lows called Soudan Tengoku. That's more like the real Japan.

My wife and I liked watching her, because her comments were pretty frank, not PC all the time. Shocked by the news, as someone else said, especially on Christmas Eve. The wide shows will be busy tomorrow, unfortunately. Sad. RIP Ms. Iiijima.

I hate tabloid journalism and paparazzi, unfortunately there are a lot of people who thrive on that crap. Ai did a good job, her response was appropriate.

One thing I am really tired of is people getting their shorts in a twist about Ai saying saa and pumping her fist. Do you even watch other ping pong players? They do the same, or similar things, when they get a point too. It's a natural reaction, like spiking a ball after a touchdown, so get over it.

I agree with rjd_jr. There is a right way and a wrong way. One of my favorite phrases, "fighting for peace is like f...ing for virginity", can be applied to this. I am not saying they shouldn't protest against whaling, more power to them, they just need to do it in a legal, non-violent way. Their message would reach a lot more people that way.

Mazda has developed a hybrid hydrogen engine. The RX-8 hydrogen is currently being validated in Norway. I think the main reason they haven't started marketing this engine more is the lack of stations. They are leasing some.

Now the question I have is, should the driver of the car carrying the father and boy be punished, or should the father be punished, or both. The driver of the other car will be punished for negligent driving, I would imagine.

I just re-read the article. 19 songs? Seems short. Of course some of their songs are pretty long. How long did the show last?

Wish I could see them. Saw them in Seattle when the Ox was still alive. It was a great show. Unfortunately never saw Moonie. Seeing them all together would have been amazing. I'm glad they aren't playing in the Tokyo Dome, what a crappy place for a concert. Come to think of it, that was one of the minuses when I saw them in Seattle. It was in the Kingdome. Now that was a bad place for a concert.

11,000 yen is not a bad price.

Yet again another sad story. This illustrates something that I always thought. Having GPS in your phone is great, but you will only know where the PHONE is, not necessarily where the owner of the phone is. I'm not suggesting that everyone get a microchip implanted under their skin, like some people are in Mexico due to the high kidnapping rates. I just think people shouldn't have a false sense of security about their GPS phones.

gogogo the Japanese Bruce Willis and other lookalikes DID star in a movie. It was a parody of "Japan Sinks" called "Everywhere but Japan Sinks". I'm sure it sucks, but I am still interested in watching it once when I am really drunk, so it will have more impact.
