Nuclear plants have to report every small thing like this. Even if a door is left open where it should be closed, that becomes a reportable violation. This fire had nothing to do with MOX fuel or nuclear technology.

Abe should make Bitcoin (or NEM) the official currency. Then we would have a huge boom in the economy.

NAFTA led to a lot of jobs leaving America and going to Mexico. Average workers lost their jobs, while the rich just got richer.

Media and anti-nuke crowd killed more people than the nuclear disaster (which was zero, by the way) by spreading FUD. At the same time, they claim to hold a monopoly on the interests of the people of Fukushima. It's really sad.

People will suddenly stop buying things on 4/1, which will crash the Nikkei and cause people to lose confidence in the economy. This will crash the economy for at least 10 years.

I like Tamogami better, but this guy seems okay. I think practically very little will change. Not sure why nuclear power was even discussed at all. The governor of Tokyo is the nuclear czar of Japan. If he says to start reactors today, no one will listen to him, because it is controlled by a different branch of government.

Don't see the need for expensive wifi in the sky? EM radiation is really bad for you and flying already stresses the body enough. Also, people will abuse it and just watch porn in the sky. Not a friendly environment for travelling.

The aluminum could be better used elsewhere. Just the loss of productivity for having to calculate 8% in your head is going to cost the economy more than the tax increase will make.

Prices will go up, but our wages will go down. The US/Chinese/European economy is about to all come down. No one will be buying Japanese products.
Posted in: If it’s just prices that increase without wages, there will be a tremendous social cost. Abe and his administration understand the risk from the side effects of his policies.

Posted in: Prime Minister Abe and the nuclear industry are hoping the Japanese people and the world will forget the victims and the terrible lessons of Fukushima, hoping that they will allow the restart of old, risky reactors. What we should instead forget is an energy system that is dependent on old, dirty, and dangerous technologies like nuclear and fossil fuels.
