Does anyone know of a market where electricity prices decreased after deregulation? Every example I know of (California, etc) has only increased significantly.

Actually, given the amount of money they are spending on just the sea wall and the population of the city, they could pay everyone in Kesennuma a full time salary for over 50 years. Instead they are just building a concrete wall and giving money to construction companies. Did they tell that to the visitors?

Unless Japan builds its own military and learns to stand on its own once again, there could very well be an invader coming in the future.

Casein in milk binds to polyphenols, thus reducing anti-oxidants in your body, leading to great oxidative stress. Pasteurized milk has AGEs which damage cells.

Better raise taxes again! We can't have wealth in the hands of regular people, but rather concentrated in the banks and other oligarchs.

This was almost all caused by keeping the nuclear plants shut down. The cost of nuclear plants being shut down is equivalent to hosting the olympics every month, and that is discounting the environmental costs of acidifying our oceans (oceans are so acidic now that within 30 years there may be almost no plankton or fish left; 50% of the oxygen you breathe is from plankton, so you should care!) and streams and new cancers from burning coal and other fossil fuels.

Sounds like chronic vitamin D deficiency. Not going outside makes it harder to get vitamin D, thus it is a negative feedback loop.

How will you get the hydrogen? Actually doing that will use more electricity than just storing oil/coal-generated electricity in batteries. Thus it is the opposite of eco-friendly.
Eco-friendly is clean and safe nuclear power, where 1000 years of pollution free energy could be provided by known uranium reserves, if fuel is reprocessed.

I think he is a pretty good guy who cares a lot about Japan. Most Japanese politicians only care about being popular and getting money and attention for themselves. Ishihara tried to make a stand for Japanese culture, even though it is not a popular thing to do.
